This is probably one of my favorite movies now, up there with Kimi no Na wa. Coincidentally both movies are kind of about fate in a way, I just think it was executed a bit better here. I don't think I have ever cried as hard as I did watching this than anything else I'd seen before. The plot was simple and focused, but message was so beautiful. That life is fleeting and we must cherish every moment, and even the saddest days can still have happy, meaningful moments. But what really stuck to me was what Sakura said about choices, how our lives right now are the sum of all the choices we’ve made up to this point. It honestly changed my perspective on fate and life. The scene at the end where he finds her diary is just where I break down. I don't usually cry during movies or in general, but I couldn't take it.. Sakura was such a kind person, she lived her life the best she could, and never let her illness get to her. I know she's fictional but I felt so sad, I wish I could have hugged her. I hope she is at peace now.

If I learned anything from this, it would be that we should try to live authentically. Sakura’s life, though brief, was filled with purpose because she embraced the present and made the most of her time. Her kindness and positivity weren’t just traits, they were choices she made every day, even knowing her time was limited. That’s what makes her so inspiring to me.

I've always had trouble making strong connections with people and as someone who loves romance anime, this has always been my greatest desire. I feel, if I could make someone like Sakura happy, or help them through a sad time, then I would have fulfilled a purpose of my own.

What a beautiful movie. I am so glad I found this.

This movie killed me as well. What utterly destroyed me was the fact Sakura and Haruki would've most likely never connected if it wasn't for her condition. She spent what time she had left pulling Haruki out of his shell, and that's just beautiful.

You're not going to get a Sakura to force you to connect with others, but hopefully this film will help nudge you to find the courage to do it yourself.

That post credit bop on Harukis head, uuuuugh gets me every time.

The movie hit me as soon as I watched the first few minutes of it. I felt pain in my chest. I couldn't watch it anymore and put my phone aside lost in deep thinking. I picked it again later that day and finished the movie. It's been 1.5+ years and it's still in my favorites list. If anyone asks me the name of my favorite anime, I don't think twice before taking its name. Here's the hug you wanted🤗 (no homo)

Glad you loved this one mate.

It is my "All Time Favourite Movie" across any media including Hollywood, Anime, etc. I watched this movie back in 2020 and I love it so much even till this date.

I won't have been surprised if I was the only one who felt blessed to find this movie at that time, but watching someone who could actually share same views as me feels really nice.

For those who say it's not that sad, that's their opinion. For me and many others, this movie leaves an indelible mark on our hearts. Without a doubt, it's the most heartbreaking movie I've seen so far. Sakura was a beacon of light; her sweetness and boundless optimism were so powerful that she managed to change Haruki's perception and purpose in life.

I am someone who can easily feel deep emotions, and even though I don't cry often, this movie left me breathless for days and completely drained of tears. I hope to find someone like her in my lifetime. Thanks to us, who humanize fictional characters, they continue to live on through the years. May she rest in peace.

It's emotionally impactful and introspective and thought provoking to some extent . It works for some people and for some people it doesn't .

I had gathered a page of thought process when I watched it .

I completely agree with you. I watched this movie in 2021, right before starting college, and it truly changed my life. There's a line where Sakura says something like, "The relationships you build and the bonds you nurture are what make you truly alive." While it might not be the exact dialogue, the meaning stuck with me.

Before watching this, I was an introvert with no close connections, but the impact of the movie was transformative. It inspired me to step out of my comfort zone, and over time, I went from having no friends to finding some of the best friendships of my life.
