He was obviously feeling the pressure of dueling Ryo in front of the whole school as part of the graduation duel and wanted to take it seriously. Not that I liked his whole 180 degree turn either, but there were context clues that made his decision to duel more seriously here make a lot of sense. Also I'm sorry to anyone who likes Manjoume, but he was really annoying in this episode when he wondered why Ryo had passed him over in order to duel Judai instead. I mean really? Judai's won every single major duel except 3 so far in this season (2 losses and 1 interrupted duel) and he saved the school and students from disaster on several occasions, yet Manjoume has the nerve to act like he'd be a better opponent for Ryo than Judai? Manjoume, he had lost to Judai twice, Misawa once, and to Amnael and Asuka too? |

 Oh geez, the body proportions were really off in this shot. Their hips are half the size of their shoulders, their legs are twigs, and those heads aren't scaled right. |
| Watching this again, I really don't know what Ryo's problem was; he said he was regretting choosing Judai as his opponent towards the end of the episode, even though Judai's tactics were essentially perfect. I mean, what more did Ryo want? I could understand if Judai had been playing badly and if Ryo wasn't enjoying fighting a weak opponent, but Judai did better here than he did in their first duel. |

I could understand if Judai had been playing badly and if Ryo wasn't enjoying fighting a weak opponent, but Judai did better here than he did in their first duel. will i hound you every episode discussion from here on? who knows... completely agree, he literally played the same as always but everyone's all like "omg he's not playing like himself". like what. he's holding his own perfectly with the cards he has, after the SUPER LUCKY turn 1 cyber end dragon lol the only indicator we have that he's playing differently is just judai saying that he's gotta think his moves through. ALTHOUGH in universe your duel monsters skills are actually tied to the cards you draw and it's not entirely luck dependent, as long as they believe and feel they'll draw the right cards, so maybe from their perspective that's not happening? but that's so abstract that i can't justify it. i guess that's why they need a school just for dueling. oh yeah it's all coming together /j |
