The 24th and final episode of Kusuriya no Hitorigoto 2nd Season (The Apothecary Diaries Season 2) television anime announced on Friday that a sequel is in production, revealing a "super" teaser promo.

Produced by OLM and TOHO animation STUDIO, the 24-episode first season premiered in Fall 2023. The second season began airing on January 10. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with subtitles worldwide, excluding Asia.

The television anime series adapts Natsu Hyuuga's medical mystery novel, which they originally began on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in October 2011. Shufunotomo published it in a single novel volume in September 2012. The publisher began reprinting it as a light novel through its Hero Bunko label with illustrations by Touko Shino in August 2014. The 16th volume went on sale on May 30.

Monthly Big Gangan began serializing a manga adaptation by Nekokurage in May 2017. Square Enix published the 15th volume on March 25.

Sunday Gene-X began serializing a second manga adaptation by Minoji Kurata in August 2017. The 20th volume was released on May 19.

J-Novel Club licensed the light novel in English in November 2020 for digital release and published the 14th volume on May 30, with the 15th volume scheduled to go on sale on September 12. Square Enix Manga & Books licensed Nanao and Nekokurage's manga adaptation in English in November 2019 and shipped the 13th volume on March 4. The 14th volume is planned for release on October 7.

@NagoyaR the real kicker will be season 5 for book 9 & 10. Best arc in the series so far ImO and the arrival of the other best character outside of Maomao all in one go.

Season 2's content was a massive disappointment for me. Let's hope S3 is gonna be as good as S1 or even better

I need to stop slacking and finally peep this series.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

Take me back to the days before MAL became infested with Twitter's favorite buzzwords.

@Softhenic03 The LN is very fast paced, there is less exposition and thoughts vs most LNs, thus there is more shit to actually had, and thus for anime we got a lot more of content than usual, which is a plus for me.

The anime is actually a improvement over the LN from what I read, as in everything is better conveyed in the anime (since again, the LN doesnt lose that much time to give exposure or go about character's monologues).
