kind of expected this kind of trauma from Amo, but yeah since it’s airing on normal TV it had to be censored somehow. Showing everything through those colored drawings was a smart move, it looked unique and hit harder than I thought it would. It also made it clear that this is Amo’s way of coping, trying not to think too much about what happened, which honestly makes it even more disturbing than showing it directly.
I get that Amo just wants to be loved, but the way she learned what “love” means came from that pedophile who used her and called it love. That’s what messed her up. I’m glad that part of her story wrapped up here, but I’m still disappointed she didn’t go with the janitor and I’ll be even more disappointed if Jabber really killed her. Amo’s a strong character with a lot of potential, and wasting her as a plot device would be a huge mistake.
All that said, the team handled a really dark topic way better than I expected. The visuals, well at least the drawings here were great too, probably the best the show’s ever looked. Not a high bar, but still easily the best episode so far.
Didn't mention it but yeah, btw, the seiyuus killed it here.
No amount of mental preparation was gonna be enough to make me prepared to watch this animated and yeah. They also went artistic with in case the impact wasn't gonna be enough. A glimpse in how dark the world of gachiakuta can be. Amo deserves all the love.
This episode makes sense if you consider that the author used to work under Fire Force's author. I think I already state so many crossover inspiration between these two but this episode is more obvious than ever.
It seems like that wings are vital instrument, not sure if they're good guys or not, they might not even be the same people that kill Regto just because they wear the same mask pattern.
Yeah Amo's backstory....just fucked up that she was getting groomed and raped but thought it was "love." Then the "Because she sold you" denial in order to cope hit hard. Fuck Amo's mom fr. Also to clarify, the manga also used that cartoony style to depict what was happening to her, that wasn't an anime-original thing.
The 2 figures who showed up made the mistake of not killing the dude, but at least Amo ended up doing that. I personally think all groomer pedophiles should end up as a splat on the ground 👍
After all of that, she still couldn't have a happy ending. Whether or not she was killed remains to be seen, but for now it's onto the next arc where I feel Gachiakuta really finds its footing.

Omg Amo as a kid was so adorable and innocent... which makes my soul hurt all the more when you realize what was done to her over the years.
I kinda had hoped that the old guy would at the very least wait until she was older before he laid his hands on her, given that he said he was going nuture her so that she will grow big and strong.
But then after the time skip he mentioned that it was their usual ritual, which makes me believe he definitely laid his hand on her multiple times before that one time we got to see in this episode. And the way Amo's hands were shown to reach out over the years, seemingly for help, has me even more concerned.
But since nothing is ever expressively said, I'm not entirely sure about this.
Either way, Amo didn't deserve any of this and definitely needed and needs to be protected at all costs. 😢
Unrelated to that tho, the whole thing with the boots was a little odd. Like how exactly did Amo come to treasure them? Was it when the old dude kept stomping on her with them whenever she didn't listen to him?
As awful of a human being the old guy seems to be, I can't blame him for not wanting to give his boots to Amo. After all, from what we know about givers and vital instruments, he too treasured those boots dearly. Honestly, I kinda blame the angel for causing that particular conflict between them about the boots. Not in any way saying that the old dude isn't a bad person. He is. But like it was said before about the Raiders, even bad people can treasure objects.
I'm just glad that Amo and Rudo got to meet. Dispite everything that happened between them in the last episode, they seem to have a positive effect on each other, as they are both clearly broken people who have started wanting to fix themselves and now have found someone just like them that they can learn together with.
Man, I just hope Amo is still alive after Jabber showed up out of nowhere. Would hate for her to have been killed off like this.
No new OP or ED yet, I’m guessing those are coming in the next one since this marks the end of the Amo arc, if we’re getting new ones anyway. And wow this was quite the episode, Amo went through some really terrible shit, I figured she did giving how she is in the present, but it didn’t make it less impactful, the way the rape was depicted with kid’s drawings especially made it hit hard, it’s both really creative and also makes it more sickening, I’m glad that sick bastard got what he deserved, of course it was Amo’s mom that sold her in the first place but we don’t know what happened to her as of rn.
And then after all that, fucking Jabber goes and steals Amo’s vital instrument after everyone leaves, and the worst part is we don’t know what happened to her, I really hope she didn’t die after they made me like her lol (punch was still deserved tho, my mind hasn’t changed there). Well at least the gang got out of there with some good info, the mf that Rudo is after is one of the “angels” Amo saw, and they can go to and from the Sphere, I can’t blame Rudo for nearly losing his shit after finding this out but thankfully he didn’t because of Amo’s words.
oh damn... that was a beautiful depiction of an absolutely horrific experience, poor Amo...
and yet she can't catch a break like WTF happened to her at the end??? 😭
Should have known why she feels so empty and lonely seeking for love. Her mother's the real trash. That b**tard who groomed her got off easy. Should have had a painful death.
I wish she had gone with Rudo and the others.
F*cking Jabber stole her shoes I hope she's at least alive.😔😔💔

Again a really interesting and well made episode. I particularly loved the scene where the angel jumped from the tower and flew towards the horizon. The music of this scene gave me goosebumps. I am excited to see how the story goes further. I have so many questions right now. Who are these people called Angels and are they linked to the person that killed Regto? And also what are the Raiders after?
Those drawings reminded me of those really hard to watch paintings made by the victims irl but a bit "easier on the eyes" for the regular audience ofc, man it is a shame but understandable that she didn't imemdiatly go with them, at the very least she ended in good terms with the rest and specially Rudo but then it also had to put salt in the wound by giving us that ending.
As much as I like this show I wonder why I'm not really buying it that Rudo is a ball full of rage, dunno why, like he has the back story, and current reasons to but I dunno.
Ngl it's going to greatly reduce my opinion of the series if they actually killed her off here. Really good artistic portrayal of what happened to her, really hope they're not going with the tired old trope of "character with an awful past dies immediately after they start seeing the first glimmer of happiness"; it always just feels edgy for the sake of being edgy.
After watching Takopi's original scene I didn't think any other show would make me feel a sense of dread like that but this episode did it.....what happened to her was so fucked up and it makes so much sense with how she was acting in the previous episode, now I hope the author didn't just kill off Amo like that.
Very well directed episode, given its content. It was able to portray what was happening through the eyes of a child, only hitting home how sad and disturbing it really is. Considering how people were talking about it last week, I was expecting a lot worse. It really wasn't that bad.
Amo started in a bad home, just judging on how her mother spoke to her, and it only got worse after being sold off. It's easy to see why she is the way she is now. Still doesn't justify her trying to kill everyone last week.
I wonder what the goal of the angel guy is? Is he the guy who is in front of the TV wearing the other watchman gear? Is he trying to collect all the watchman gear, like the boots and the gloves?
Hopefully Amo is ok. She and Rudo were able to make amends and find common ground.
Can't say that was an enjoyable episode. Too bad that trafficker never caught his 🍆 on a rust hook while falling from the the tower before hitting the ground.
All in all, if we get to call this the start of cour 2, it was pretty solid! They even kept the episode going through the credits. If you made it this far, you're in for a treat
Ok, Alot of people might see this and point fingers.
LISTEN, AND PAY ATTENTION TO HOW FUCKED Amo's life is, and PONDER on what the story is trying to convey about her fucked up childhood. You are right to feel what you feel, given the context, and rightfully so should be grossed out. NOW!! Who would you blame? the mom whos probably hungry and sold her daughter for some chum change? or the traffic doing he's awful job? both of these HORRIBLE characters are a product of their enviroment and should be punished. AND AND THIS SHOW PROTRAYED IT SIGNIFICALLY AND HANDLED IT WITH INSANE CARE... from my perspective. THAT BEING SAID, since I am writing this as the intro is playing, I am probably prejudging a lot of parts.
WELLL! FUCK!!
SHIT JUST HIT THE TRAIN AND STAINED THE CART!
ok, Amo is probably, definitely for sure, guessing of course, hypothetically, possibly, not dead. That being said, Amo and Rudo bonding over how to react on the world that has been completely unfair to them makes them look very adorable, and Rudo saying-this is verbatim so not exactly how he said it "Talking to Amo, mellowed me out a little." makes me think that they will definitely have a high bonding time moving forward... assuming she most likely, guessing of course, is no dead then they will have that sleep over. Amo's backstory is as fucked as it can get, and the show not playing it up, or soften the experience Amo went through hits a lot harder than it should.
My guess from last week was completely off. It looks like the guy Amo was talking about was nun other than the guy Rudo was looking for. And they-the guy that Rudo was looking for, has nothing to do with Dreads, and speaking of Mr. Dreads himself, he's boss has now started to make whatever his motives are into action. So, by the looks of it might end up being a show down next week, Amo might, probably, possibly, dreaming, and guessing of course, join them...
Amo's mental state kinda reminds me of Joker from Joker, where due to economical, environmental, and social standing in the world they didnt get to choose, they relied on things (not people, Amo with the thing(the moster), and in Joker's instance society) that is to say that they both got abused, processed, battered, neglected (emotionaly), and left to develop a WEIRD(on the outside) way of handling their clear signs of ware on their psyche, so to speak. And unlike Rudo who had a softer, way of dealing with he's wares due he's uncle looking after him, (which we also dont know what happened to his parents and how he develop such an insane obsession over trash) that he can sort of have a self reflection period where if people told him he's acting out, he would immedeidty assume he was in the wrong and try to apologies, unless what he's doing seems clearly vaild to himself, then there is no budging the kid. Of course, the JOKER did not have this mechanisim due to the hate that his socity laid on him, which regardless of how hard someone told him to come back to earth, he wont, instead he would spiral further down into he's copping mechanism. BUT Amo's unlike the other two, doesnt need a third part to tell her something is OFF, or she's acting off, or she's being played with (as in someone is making a fool out of her). She has the mental strength and capacity to look further away and see for what things actually are, and it might be thanks to the books she read but thats not the point, Her reconciling her decision, and having a clearer out look on herself after Rudo's out burst makes her very VERY wise, for a mentally broken character(im not trying to disrespect the character she was presented that way) but not that I have a closer look, she might have been a bit of a normal person, just handled the shittest card in excisitense. Not saying Rudo, and Joker arent normal, just that Amos with somewhat similar circumstances came out thinking "man, hurt people hurt people huh?" mentallity which is not something a battered, broken, person would do... At least, I thought she was.

can someone tell why didn't they take amo with them ? I know this show isn't fallout shelter or anything but they could use her ability to there benefits and provide the help she needs even if she thinks it's safe being by herself
I did not think Amo's backstory would be THIS dark. Like she was sold, groomed, and grapes? What makes it worse is that it seems like the SA started before she was even grown since when the guy mentioned it, Amo said it happened before. I love that Amo got to connect with Rudo, but I immediately saw the death flags when she decided to not go with the cleaners. I honestly hope Jabber didn't kill her because if he did, I honestly don't think anything will make me like his character after this. Amo just founded a slimmer of hope only to be attacked by him right afterwards.
Overall, great episode and I can't wait to see this new villain.

Because she didn't want to go. They can't force her after they just made up.

I mean graping a child is about as bad as you can get, but I'm glad it wasn't explicitly shown in a dark manner because that honestly would make the writing worse imo.
Damn, that was a rough backstory. Poor Amo, hopefully she wasn't killed off and she will join the gang eventually. She deserves to be loved for real. Regardless of how brutal they were, I'm glad for the last couple episodes because I was very iffy on the show which I found quite generic before that. Hopefully it gets even better from here.
