| I actually started this series with the manga and I’ve read up to volume 4 — that’s like 18 chapters so far. I’m dying for volume 5 to drop next month 😭 As for the adaptation, this episode was fire! The visuals were stunning, the soundtrack was top-tier, super faithful to the manga, and the pacing was on point — it covered about two chapters and a few extra pages from the third one. Loved the OP and the background music too. From the OP, it feels like this season will probably adapt up to the end of volume 3, though with this pacing it might even go a bit further. Just hope they don’t touch volume 5 yet, ‘cause I wanna read it before watching it 😅 The manga’s one of my favorites — the art is gorgeous, seriously, give it a try. This episode actually got me hyped for the anime again. Only thing that threw me off was Shiori’s voice, didn’t really fit her. But Hinako’s VA? Perfect — totally gives me Ayanami Rei vibes. |

| This was a pretty heavy episode. You can't help but feel so sorry for Hinako. Depiction of despair and depression was done very well. It seems like she's struggling from survivor's guilt and is suicidal, but can't do the deed on her own. How "convenient?" that there are 2 creatures going after her life huh? If Hinako is special, maybe her family death was complex too? We'll find out eventually but I already suspect it wasn't an accident. As for Shiori, I'm not buying that "I'm gonna eat you" crap. She even turned around and didn't give a definitive answer when Hinako asks for a confirmation. Since there are Yokai in this universe, possibilities are endless. Shiori may have actually arrived to save Hinako (on behalf of Hinako's parents maybe?) and make her value her life more. Maybe she'll eat her if this plan fails and Hinako stays painfully miserable? Dunno, for now I suppose Shiori will try to make Hinako take better care of herself under a false pretense that she'll eat her once she's the "tastiest". Something that can potentially never happen or take dozens of years. Anyways, I was hooked the moment I heard that lovely yet sad OST at the start. Having high hopes for this show. |
| Nooo, this is dark Yuri Lesbians should be happy, not sad. They should enjoy their life, not wanna end it. There shouldn't be blood; there should be cute little lesbian kisses! What is wrong with you Japan? I often can't stand dark Yuri!! But I'm going to be brave and watch it anyway, there are some rare occasions I enjoy dark Yuri maybe this can be one of those Stupid anime,,,making me depressed....... |

| The music! The music is just gorgeous, easily the best thing about the premiere. Really enjoying the main duo's voice. The art is pretty enough, even though the animation is just okay. The story and the characters are kind of whatever, at the moment I have no idea how they'll turn out. |

| first episode of anime where it has to remind you constantly that the mc's family is dead miko being utterly insufferable brought it down from 5 to 4 i really like the atmosphere and the ocean-submerged scenes |
