Oh Fusatarou...what a bastard for the betrayal. But to make matters worse, he's trying to manipulate Asirpa. Goes to show this anime still have trust issues with certain characters.

A thrilling episode imo. My only complaint is probably the lighting of the episode being in darkness pretty much the entire time.

It was nice to see Nihei again. Another death withinthe main cast, I thought he would last longer.

Golden Kamuy has the real chance to be the best anime of this season, facing rivals with double or even triple the budget, but you won't find a more entertaining chaos than this anime in this season.

This season has been so much better and exciting than the previous season, feels like this show's really back in great rhythm. That was another super intense and fun episode to watch with gripping twists and turns with Botaro betraying Sugimoto not even a minute in to Tsurumi's capture of Asirpa mid-chaos once again, to Botaro and his end for saving Shiraishi while chasing down alongside Sugimoto (a guy who nearly sliced his ear off just a bit earlier). This was really strong stuff to watch and when the show is serious, you really feel that intensity shining through. Botaro had his goals but went out in a memorable fashion if he ends up on the right side of history in the story.

Unlucky Immortal Kadokura, unlucky living but insane luck in life-and-death situation.
Sadly, Toni Anji couldn't see that absolute cinema

Boutaro using his hair to stun his enemies, is great for a shampoo commercial.

Aw, I actually liked Boutarou despite his betrayal in this episode. R.I.P. to the Pirate King... :'(

But on the other hand, at least Kadokura managed to survive thanks to having the world's greatest luck. Maybe he should be the one called Immortal.

@Stark700 Yeah, was kind of hard for me to follow at times ( my computer has a small screen & the Sun was behind it at the time). I mean, I'm sure that was meant from their perspective, too.

RIP Boutarou the Pirate King, despite his betrayal.

At least he saved Shiraishi and told some info before his dead. If Shiraishi has some kids someday he'll tell the them about the pirate king who saved his life I guess.

@vong10 It'll be explained in probably next 2-3 eps depending on how fast they go or they could pull a gk anime classic and just skip that arc

When he was introduced Kikuta didn't seem that interesting, but after the endings of this and last episode I'm intrigued to find out more about him.

RIP Botaro. Wasn't part of the story for long but he did end up leaving an impression this arc, I'll miss him. Very glad Kadokura survived though, he's such a minor character but for some reason he's just very lovable.

THIS IS THE BEST FINAL SEASON EVER PRESENTED IN ANIME HISTORY HOLY FUCK HOW I LOVE GOLDEN KAMUY!!!

This fucking pirate, everything went downhill because of his betrayal aaaaaaargh but I can't hate him. Also, rest in peace.

Again, this episode made me laugh loud. I was ready to say goodbye to Kadokura, but it turned into an unexpected comic moment.

I don't know how they translate/adapt Vasily's name in another languages, but in Brazilian Portuguese they call him "little hat" and for me it's fucking hilarious every time it shows on subtitles.

Kadokura falling into the futon was peak comedy. God I love this series.

Botaro wasn't around for that long, but his death felt like losing one of the og characters.

Kadokura has divine luck on his side in how he managed to survive as the beer factory collapsed. The way he was carried by the falling building onto a futon of all things was pure genius! XD

As for Botaro, his actions did ultimately lead to Asirpa getting captured by Nikaidou and sent straight into Tsurumi's clutches. It was one costly betrayal for sure, in which you can't Blame Sugimoto for losing his anger at him. The chase scene involving the vintage beer car was pretty cool, although Botaro's luck did run out in the end after taking multiple bullets, which I do respect him for saving Shiraishi's life in the process. Despite his earlier actions, I will miss him.

Now I pray that Sugimoto pulls off a miracle in rescuing Asirpa from her situation. Don't give up, Sugimoto!

Kadokura just spent all the luck he had left I’m pretty sure lol, even if he considers himself unlucky. But man RIP Botaro, we lost a character two episodes in a row now. He wasn’t here long, only introduced near the end of Season 4, but his display here in the opening arc of the final season left his mark on the series, even if his temporary betrayal resulted in Asirpa being taken by the 7th Division lol, but he made up for it by saving Shiraishi so I’d say he’s forgiven, I don’t think Shiraishi will ever forget him, like he wanted. But yeah Asirpa unfortunately got nabbed again, but I can’t deny that Nikaido stopping her with his chopsticks compartment was funny lol. There was a fun chase sequence to get her back but it ended with Sugimoto being kicked off the wagon she was in, it’s tough but it’s better than Sugimoto full of holes, also there was a short moment where it was revealed Sugimoto and Kikuta know each other, kinda random but I’m interested in how.

The Asirpa situation aside, there are some other moments I liked in this one, like Tsukishima giving up on Asirpa to save Koito, Koito may have been mad in the moment but I’m glad Tsukishima did the right thing there. And it was nice seeing Nihei again in that flashback, still one of my favorite characters even now. And the sniper battle between Vasily and Ogata is still ongoing, there’s a bit of mind games happening but I can’t tell who’ll come out on top yet. And lastly, nice callback to Eddie from one of Season 2’s OVAs, that one also featured a car, although a marginally less goofy car lol.

And as a final note, the OP has grown on me more now, I mainly really like the chorus but I like the rest a bit more now too, it was bound to happen eventually lol.

@NHS-KEMISH You're not forgetting anything, we have never seen them even interact with each other before in the anime, so we will definitely gonna get a flashback or something in the following episodes

@billybub They *should* be okay, they've been adapting about 5-6 chapters an episode, as log as they maintain the same pace it will work out. Plus, there's a ton of action to come so the content goes by faster.

This season's already shaping out to be great. All the eps till now were fantastic. Lots of Chaos and action. Shit's going down as we're in the final season. Botaro betrayed them but still redeemed himself in the end. It's sad yet refreshing to see the characters actually dying. RIP Botaro and Usami in the previous ep. I was afraid Kodokura would die too but that hilarious af. Looney Toons shit.

That was a straight up Hollywood chase sequence there. I actually don't remember when that dude and Sugimoto actually met. But looks like Asiripa's gonna get taken afterall. That was a deadly cliffhanger. I couldn't believe the ep was already over.

I have to say I've waited a long time for the final season and it does not disappoint. I didn't even realize it's been 3 years since the last. The production quality seems to be going up every season. One of the few modern anime with an incredible story and a masterclass of writing. I wish we had more of these instead of Visual candy and fights with no story.

@noblesslayer I'm just hoping its paced well and with the movie-quality of the Sapporo Arc because they played it for theaters I do hope the final arc is given just as much care.

This episode adapted like 5 and a half chapters (starting from the latter half of Chapter 258 and ends in Chapter 263).
So we have 51 chapters left. Seems doable for a 13 episode season but cutting it close.
