| I started reading this manga because I was really curious as to how a story about how a girl who is in love with her sister-in-law would work, and I think its safe to say after reading the first volume it really doesn't. This story has made no progress in five chapters. Everything relies on the inherent tragedy of a girl who is unable to confess her feelings because it would pretty clearly tear her family apart. The legitimately powerful feeling is just repackaged again and again. The author stated it was his first commercial work, and it shows. He experience writing doujins has allowed him to develop really good chapters, but he's never had to make a cohesive story out of potentially dozens of chapters. There's a lot of good things in this manga, and it can easily turn into something special, but something needs to actually happen. It's disappointing when I'm more interested in the side characters because they seem to have more room to move. |
