| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- A mostly comedy filled chapter that got a lot of laughs out of me. Firstly, Hideyoshi proves he's a massive dickhead. "You blame your friends first, that's low"! But even worse, poor Tatsuhiko is a massive baby and despite already being betrayed once for someone else's gain in the company he completely believes Hideyoshi for saying it must have an electrical wave. I wonder if he'll grow more skeptical. Some parts that got some serious chuckles out of me were when Tatsuhiko waited for girls directly off their sex life shifts hiding obviously behind signs and then getting caught up in their smell before being treated as a perverted, and then how he tried to steal girls in front of their own businesses. What a serious idiot. He got some guidance from Mako but he's back to his usual self. I also loved how he had that serious monologue about not giving up and not falling any lower hard cut to him playing pachinko. It made me realize that Tatsuhiko really reminds me of Kaiji another one of my favorite characters. An aimless youth whose emotional, gullible and kind to a detrimental degree. Both fall back onto gambling when feeling low, but rather than being at an absolute low like Tatsuhiko, Kaiji feels like he's there whenever he's not gambling. Both even have an ugly girl who's love with them and chases after them. That said, there's a lot of differences but I can see some overlap. Tatsuhiko is quick to get angry although he's overall quick to show however he's feeling, he seems to love being intimidating and he's quick to fight, and he's fierce far more than Kaiji, not to forget he's far more straightforward too. Speaking of the ugly fat lady who chases him, I find that trope quite distasteful. It feels as though it's reducing a person to a 1D trope based on their looks and then pairing that with a 1D abrasive personality. It's not funny to me and I don't like how it uses unconventional looks as the butt of a joke. That said, the way Seki opened the door and then just swerved and walked away was hysterical so I'm glad we got that out of it. And the fact that Seki totally brought Tatsuhiko back and told everyone what he did. What a jerk! HAHAH. |
