THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
While the adaptation ability of everyone is well demonstrated, those bouts were way too short to be satisfying in any other way. It was obviously heavily cut short compared to the manga.

3/5 I hope Helga and Skorpion will have longer fights.

The fight against Napoleon was wild. The three matches against the Germany team's boxers felt a bit underwhelming, but on the other hand, they once again showed how impressive the Japan team's mastery of their unique techniques really is. Calculations and copied moves just can't compete with the originals and fighters who invented them.

Speaking of the team representing Germany - wow. Not only do they look like Nazis, but three of their junior team's boxers are even named after some of the most prominent actual Nazis, lmao. I've heard the manga is even more stereotypical in its depiction of Germans, but y'know, even if the anime creators tried their best to tone things down, they couldn't get rid of all the stereotypes completely.

Kenzaki's training was insane, lol. But at least he managed to master a new technique.

Now only Helga and Skorpion are left. I hope their fights take up most of the next episode.

On a side note, I liked those bits about the science behind ultimate punches featured in this episode during the semifinals part (so in Japan vs. Germany match).
