Today's Episode Was Mainly Good Comedy, No Action.
The MC Comes Across As Incompetent But Only We See That Side, Everyone Else Looks Up To Him!
The Blonde Female Captured Ends Up Being A Princess ( Surprise!! ) Who The MC Has To Escort Back Home.
I Did Like The Comedy In This Episode Especially The 3 Other Characters Involved.
If This Doesn't Make Sense Give It A Try, It's Not Exactly Playing Like The Usual Donghua.
What Do I Know Though.

we get backstory of xiu and he does looks to be a complex character someone who looks like idiot from outside but is actually a genius.

Not enjoying the female characters so far, the female assistant of MC is too hotheaded and easily swayed by her feelings while the blond imperial princess is too manipulative and cunning. This will lead to a lot of endless misunderstandings and story stagnation in the future.

Wished the character design would be more consistent throughout the series, I cannot tell if MC is the same person from the beginning of episode 1 and the same person hanging from a tree in the middle of episode 1 - as well as being the Zi Chuan army general.

Would have preferred if MC had his backstory in the beginning so we could ease into the premise a bit more; Without context this just feels like world of warcraft film knockoff.

i'm not going to pretend to understand the whole backstory thing (both the fractured kingdom after the previous guy died and his sons fought for the throne, and the situation with this yangminghua person). but i'm sure i'll piece most of it together as it unfolds
