After failing so many times it's no wonder she finally lost it.

To give credit to the manga for once, I actually thought that this was a decent chapter and adaptation and showcased Nanahoshi's expressions of failure and grief pretty well, even if a bit exaggerated as usual and the ending being a little abrupt.

In general, I just love how this series chose to have two characters turn up in this world with alternate perspectives on it. Rudeus, a guy who lost everything in his previous world with no family members wanting to deal with him, and him being an outcast of society with him having no hopes of changing or getting better there, likes being in this world and doesn't want to ever go back there. He's not perfect even here, but he's doing considerably better and is making some kind of progress unlike how everything went out there. Only real thing he feels a bit homesick for is food.

Meanwhile, you have Nanahoshi, a girl who unlike Rudeus, is a normal girl with friends, a love interest, hobbies and attending school proactively, a family she can bond with, convenient technology like phones and computers to use and even transportation, and much better facilities and food in general (especially with homecooking there).

Here, the food is way worse for her and she struggles to adapt to culture here, the languages are all different, she doesn't have any family here (unlike Rudeus who at least was reincarnated as someone with a loving mother, father and even had sisters later), and she doesn't even age. She feels almost alien-like in this world and has busted her ass for 6 years to find even the smallest possibilities of her being able to go back. And as time passed, she experienced failure, after failure, after failure, after failure. And here again, all her efforts were in vain. The more she fails, the more it feels like there's no hope for her and she would have been thrown in this unfair situation and suffered mentally because of it. Unlike other isekai'd characters, she never wanted to be here. And she hasn't adapted whatsoever to living in that world and enjoying it for many, many reasons understandably.

Of course in these stories, there are tons of protagonists who enjoy their new life with all the powers and babes/husbands, but there are people that can just... not want to be here at all and find it terrifying, unsafe and depressing more than enjoyable. Bad food, no family, homesickness 24/7, danger, these aren't amazing factors to live here for with the average person.

Manga did a solid enough job in conveying her feelings after yet another failure taking a massive toll on her mental health for a bit there. Nanahoshi's definitely an interesting character and a refreshing one in the series, makes the concept of the isekai element in this series to be a more interesting one too given how it's all not just perfection, happiness and convenience for people to end up in this situation. There are other perspectives too.

I just wish this chapter was a bit more lengthier and well paced out by the end, and as usual, wish the manga wasn't just monthly. It's a good chapter here but because of the insanely sluggish release schedule and pace that this arc has had in the manga version in particular, it's been tricky when it comes to finding people genuinely care or invested in this chapter after how slow everything was beforehand. Standalone wise, this chapter was solid. I don't know why I went so long with talking about this here of all places, but felt like putting this somewhere. Maybe I can use most of this when the anime adapts this in the 2nd season at some point lol.
