Of course this would be messed up, there would be no way Makoto would lose his virginity in a normal way. And I don't know if the confusing imagery is something purposeful, to transmit better how the whole thing is from makoto's perspective, or that is just a consequence of the art blending the characters, since they all are entirely white. Luckily, the shift in tone that we had right before the end of the chapter was well balanced thanks to the conversation between Fjord and Makoto, which was very good by the way, transmitted all about Fjord that we needed to know to understand his actions, he has been through a lot in his life, and being subordinate to J has been protecting him from undergoing more bad stuff, so his loyalty is understandable and he remains likeable by sympatizing with Makoto's situation, until we get that final scene that is, seems our boy's nature really served him well in this deranged new world he's living in.
