Want some candy? Lol. Follo's hilarious and it was amusing watching the kids gang. The mural reveal and the lore. The manga panel looked way more majestic btw. Here

And they end it with Amo damn.

And that's it. I very much enjoyed watching the adaptation. Bones did great to bring most out the world of Gachiakuta and make it feel alive. I really dig the aesthetics. Directing, animation, visual effects were also really good. Really excited to watch upcoming arcs in anime whenever that is. Till then sayonara.

Awwww, Rudo being the big bro of these little children's field trip, lol, look at how pumped he is watching over his the 3 of them! But it's quickly proved that he should NOT consume any sweets, or else he'll go feral. At least he knows how to fend off a kidnapper and save the kids. NO DIDDY

Kyouka is 100% Kei Urana's self-insert; she's the most elegant woman in the series by far. She got that drip down fr fr.

And finally, a wonderful cliffhanger for the 2nd season, Rudo finally revealed his full name, Rudo Surebrec, a descendant of an old undertaker. Seems like his bloodline got some history whether it be on the Sphere or on the ground.

Pretty cool ending to Gachiakuta, it's not often that we get a 2-cour adaptation of a new shonen title. Overall, I must say the story is interesting enough to keep me engaged, especially the art direction in particular. Really give it its own unique, stylized looks.

Still would've loved if they didn't oversell Rudo's apparent 'rage' as much as they did in the first ep. Now, in hindsight,t it felt like his fury was immature and childish, which makes sense given his development, but I would've wished he went a tad bit edgier.

Yeah like I expected, they were just setting up stuff for the next season. I mean, Rudo’s relationship with the Undertaker. Not a big fan tho we didn't get to see, what eventually could've been a great place to conclude this season in its entirety, but ok, we move. After all the serious stuff the guys went throughout the season, they needed a break with the field trip sort of.

Anyway, if there's one thing this series should work on, it’s the fucking theme songs. Like both the openings sucked.. how can they be this bad lol. I know they wanna keep it funky and stuff, but yeah, that ain’t a reason. That aside, this had a rocky start but we somehow ended up on a high. Next season will be even better.. like seriously. Looking forward.

Holy cliffhanger btw.. don't miss the last 20 secs.

It took the whole season, but I’m glad to finally see Zanka starting to grow and even giving advice to our boy Rudo. Yeah, he’s still a fraud, but that’s a problem for another day, he had a good moment, so I’ll let it slide for now. Anyways, yeah though bit more laid back stuff here for the finale, really just setting up some stuff on one side and... Rudo and kids exploring around. Certainly a finale, that's for sure lol.

If it wasn’t obvious already, yeah, this is getting a second season. It leaked last week or something, but honestly the outcome here was super obvious, which makes this kind of setup as a finale make even more sense. What a cliffhanger though, ending right on a lore drop about Rudo’s father that’ll probably be explored next time we're here. Ngl, this episode was a lot of fun overall. I think I might actually enjoy episodes like this more than the action-heavy ones that took over most of the second cour.

In the end, my thoughts on this show haven’t really changed since the start of July. It still isn’t a good show in the slightest. I could go on about its problems, the weak visual identity, the plot barely ever moving forward, the lack of real consequences, or the fact that we’re on episode 24 and know almost the exact same amount as we did back in episode 3. It’s a series completely plagued with issues.

That said, for what it is, this clearly feels like one of those shows that’ll get better with future installments, especially season two, which will hopefully have an actually competent story arc. So yeah, until then.

Kudo still in his thoughts about wanting to find Amo, that Zanka can tell what's on his mind, though he recommends him to find Remlin first to get his mind straight.

Amidst Rudo being just that awkward around the joker, the field trip mission to Canvas Town for the kids (Remlin, Dear and Guita alongside Rudo being the oldest) visiting the historic spellcasters' mural, with the adults watching their every move, and the Cleaners HQ expecting some visitors, it's going to be a rough day ahead.

The Hell Guard, led by the Red Horns' 1st Squad Captain Kyouka Nijiku, being the reason why Arkha Corvus sent the kids away, as intel about the trash storm makes headline news to their agonizing that the Cleaners are not doing their jobs right. At the same time, Yu coming to Hole Town to watch on the Cleaners' kids with Master Hii directing him along, the goofiness of the kids wanting candy, only for Rudo to be led away by a kidnapper...not smelling like sweets at all to kick him in the groin, the scary levels just prove too much for Yu to contact them.

To think that the mural is literally on the ceiling entrance to Canvas Town that showcases generations of people who've come now and then...except that with the Watchman symbol being drawn on it, as well as Kyouka's need to capture Rudo to learn about the Sphere, that all belongs to the original spellcaster of Macaca Icol, of which one of it belonging to his good friend Canis Surebrec, of which Rudo is related to him of all people...and Amo seemingly being alive somehow?

Revelation plot point for Season 2...coming soon!

Why the hell would they make the decision to show that at the end? Manga readers know why I'm upset rn but they actually turned probably the biggest reveal in this manga into the most 'here damn' reveal ever

Good episode still but-
Final Score for the season : 7/10
I think a second season would benefit from only having 12 episodes which i think is what will happen.

And so we end with a field trip involving a candy tantrum that Majin Buu would approve of, a bit of history and a captive who will no doubt need to be rescued.

So if I got that right Rudo is related to the person behind the Watchman series. I suppose that is an interesting piece of information. The way this series started felt somewhat unique in terms of battle shonens. Unique locations, premise and powers. But when the fighting began it pretty much devolved into standard shonen fare. Which may sound more negative than I intended it to as I did enjoy what I watched. Certainly enough to watch a second season which I'm gonna assume will come eventually. For now I'll say a solid 7/10. I look forward to seeing where we go from here.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Can't believe this show has ended already :__{
24 weeks have really flown by so fast...I need more...I NEED MORE GACHIAKUTA, currently channeling my inner Rudo when he get's a taste of candy!

Really liked how Rudo is trying to help and connect with everyone, now that he isn't solely focused on getting revenge but also being a part of the Cleaners.
Chill vibes in this episode with the kids going on a trip, but goddman do the Hells Guard guys look tough... especially that captain wouldn't wanna get on her bad side.

That ending with Rudo and Enjin seeing the watchmen series mark on the mural sent a shiver down my spine.
Seems like Rudo's ancestors were on the ground...which makes me have so many questions I want answered...BUT there are no more episodes :{

Also, poor Amo hope she gets saved soon and hopefully by Rudo as she was calling out his name.

Really hoping this gets another season soon, one of my favourites sereis at the moment and cannot wait for more Gachiakuta content :D
Rudo and Enjin gotta be my favourites solely based on watching this season!
This anime has such a cool premise and art style which I think is a reason why I love this show so much at the moment!

I've no doubt this anime will have the second season but it's still nice to see the official confirmation as soon as the first season end.

You could almost see the author Kei Urana self-insert herself into a hell guard lady Kyouka Nijiku, in a same way that her partner a graffiti artist Ando Hideyoshi self-insert himself into Gob.

Since Canvas Town has a barrier that prevent bad people from coming in, most bad people reside in Hole Town instead. Still, I wish Canvas Town would be the town that accept everyone regardless of their background and their motive.

I hope I'll get to see Enjin's tattoo in the next season, see you soon!

NO YOU CAN’T LEAVE ME ON THAT CLIFFHANGER?!! Lord please take all of Amo’s pain, quadruple it and give it to Trump. Absolute fucking cinema. One of the best battle shonen anime I’ve seen in a long time, started kinda slow, but by the time Jabber showed up, I was hooked. So many teases and set ups here in this finale, I have so many questions that I can’t wait to have answered in this upcoming manga read!!

KYOUKA HOLY FUCK I JUST BARKED AT MY SCREEN?? Mommy I’ve been a bad boy 😭 She’s hot as fuck wtf??? Convenient of she and the hell guard to show up AFTER the giant artificial trash beast is defeated, would’ve been nice to get some help earlier lol. Respect to Corvus for straight up telling her no, we’re not giving up Rudo. This show is obviously FF inspired because of the author’s roots and that reminded me a lot of the church coming after Shinra.

Speaking of Rudo lore, holy fuck, that ending?? So his ancestor knew the original spellcaster, but that means his family started out on the ground and went to the sphere or maybe the sphere didn’t even exist back then and the spell casters had something to do with it? At the least, they were definitely involved in the creation of the watchman series. Makes me wonder if the series is actually the original spell caster’s friend’s souls or something.

Just wtf are they doing to Amo and why do they have her captive?? She’s been thru so much and has never had a chance to be happy, this shit really making me angry bro. Rudo better save her soon 😡😡 well directed finale, nice mix of comedy, lighthearted moments and a ton of foreshadowing for future directions this story could go in. I’m hype as hell. People say EVERYTHING is one of the best “new gen” these days, but this one’s actually deserving of that title.

A small educational field trip to nicely wrap up this first season.
Very smart of the boss to have anticipated everything.
The Guardian Series emblem on the mural, and Rudo sharing the same name as the gravedigger Canis Surebrec, revelations dropped at the end that really hype what’s coming next!

Hell Guard makes their appearance and their captain...I can fix her lol. I love that she's voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro, one of my favorite female VAs.

That's one hell of a cliffhanger to end on, giving us Rudo's full name that reveals his lineage. Also the post-credit scene with Tamsy....yeah lol.

A good adaptation and I'm glad it got to cook for 24 episodes instead of the usual, safe 12-13 episodes.

The red-haired oneesan seems cool. Surprisingly, even though I usually dislike self-righteous characters like her, she didn't annoy me this episode, probably because of my apathy towards Rudo, whom she goes after, though it's too soon to devise a general opinion on her. And wow, who could guess that Rudo, our protagonist, is related to a legendary ancient figure? It is not like it is a famous trope or something.

Overall a 3/10. I got swept up in the hype for the series and promises for unique shounen, but it just missed the nail. Instead of writing all my complaints about the series, I'll try to be positive and express my hope for the 2nd season, that they will delve more into the mysteries of the world (which, although I wouldn't call it well-built yet, it is surely interesting), and that Kyouka will make me like her.

Great show. One of the better modern shonen with cool designs, interesting mysteries but somewhat average superpower concept.

To be honest, i think they should have ended at ep 22, but a twist (not really) at the end was also fine. If I were to mention downsides (aside from overusing shonen tropes), I’d say my main gripe is that Rudo was never really a “heaven” dweller. I mean, people in his town/zone or whatever it was lived worse than people on actual earth, so it’s kinda hard to care about Rudo's fall. Also the fact that we know nothing about how the “heaven” world operates or how people are living there (aside from the opening scene with throwing away trash which was lame) makes me even less interested in the vengeance plot against sky city. Avenging father is one thing, but fighting against all “heaven” people in aot style is a whole different matter, unless this will be the same thing later.

Anyway, waiting for season 2. This one is strong 9/10 or 8.5/10.

These last two episodes were calm after the storm, slice of life.. yet, Hell guards Red Horns commander introduction and the Rudo's Surebrec last name reveal were insane. They finished the season pretty strong.
So are the watchmen one of the Undertakers ?
The lore is quite interesting.

I'm not the first to say it but that red-haired captain, Kyouka, reminds me of the author of Gachiakuta herself. Interesting.
The kidnapper scene was both brief and magnificent. For a split second, I almost thought they'd fall into the trap. Lol
More things are being revealed, which is great, but... I don't know what the Japanese have against ending seasons so abruptly.
Now we know Amo is still there. I suppose that's something important to keep in mind.
I wouldn't say it's the best thing I've watched lately but it's definitely high on this year's list.
Well. I hope the next one comes out soon.

Great season and a great way to end things for Season 2, which just got announced. A cliffhanger of sorts, with Rudo's full name being revealed, and new mysteries, and Nijiku being here to take Rudo with her, and Amo being held captive somewhere. The next season will be really good. Can't wait to see it.

This episode was a lot of fun, with the four adorable kids being given a mission, and Rudo, being the oldest, was given the responsibility to take care of the little ones. It was so adorable to see him being pumped up to protect them at all costs. LOL. Their dads were watching over them from afar, tho. LOL. Rudo likes sweets too much and almost went feral over it at that one shop. The kidnapper got what he deserved, and I hope the shy kid who was hiding and was trying to approach our group ends up hanging out with us in the future. Would love to see more of him going forward.

Can't wait for Season 2. It was a very enjoyable watch. Loved it. Also, Nijiku is so hot. She looks just like the author.

Rudo got left at the kids table. The visuals details, world building, characers and the VAs made this show a treat to watch. Good to see a 2 cour shounen be interesting throughout.

Poor Amo, would've liked to see more of her, mainly bc the VA did an amazing with her. But we'll save that for S2. Hopefully Bones will be given enough time to keep the high quality.

Honestly one of my favorite episodes so far, it was a mostly comedic finale with a touch of new lore reveals, I really enjoyed the “field trip” segment with Rudo going into responsibility overdrive and then going feral for sugar after having some ice cream, complete with Fu reacting to everything in the background, it all made for some really funny stuff, especially that kick to the nuts on that predator using the classic “I got candy back at my place” trick, all he was missing was a white van lol. After seeing all that, it makes me hope that the combo of Rudo, Remlin, Guita and Dear happens again.

As for the reveals, we met one of the captains of the Hell Guard, Kyouka, and her design is really cool, her appearance isn’t for a reason to be celebrated but I’m interested in seeing more of her and how the Hell Guard shakes up the plot since they’re after Rudo to learn more about the Sphere. And lastly was the mural of the Spellcasters, the reveal that it’s on the ceiling was cool and the art on it was pretty sick looking, but then they noticed the Watchman Series logo up there with the art, turns out the first Spellcaster was friends with an ancestor of Rudo’s, cool lore drop but they left us with this and a scene of Amo right at the end of the season, so what this information means for the story will have to wait for a while, but hey at least Season 2 is already confirmed, very pleased to hear that!

And that was it for Gachiakuta for now, my big fat Summer 2025 season has finally been laid to rest, this show in particular was very fun to follow over both the summer and fall this year. It had a really unique world, very eccentric yet badass characters, and a striking art style that really makes it stand out from other anime, it just really has a lot to love about it, not to mention how Bones did a fantastic job on the production, only thing I could complain about is the CGI trash beasts, but I would say they looked good compared to most CGI I’ve seen, so it’s a small complaint really. And they had a really good selection of songs for the OPs and EDs, if I had to pick favorites I’d say the first ones win, following up HUGs was always gonna be really tough especially, but I think OP 2 was amazing as well despite that, same with ED 2.

And I guess with that, I await Season 2, gonna miss seeing Riyo on my screen every week but at least we know more is coming, can’t wait for it.

This show went from awesome to just ok. They introduced too many characters for my liking and too many kids at that. The spellcaster artist girl might be important for the plot, but she drags down every scene she’s in.

Hell of a reveal to end the season with so I suppose they’re quite confident for a second season. The Hell squad seems to bring in an important raising of the stakes as well.

They did an amazing job setting up season 2 in both ep 23 and 24. Rudo trying to act like a big brother was adorable and very important to his growth.

The warfare between Ryouka and Corvus was a delight. Though I am surprised Riyo didn't show up once, I guess she never did at this point?

If you made it this far, you're clearly interested. I expect season 2 to have the same pacing as cour 2, if not better. Looking forward to it 🗑

Well, I was scratching my head about why the previous episode felt more like the final episode but no wonder with this one, teasing even more while also increasing the scope of the world with a much more "what's to come next" ending now that we have proper confirmation of season 2, my poor girl Amo : (

This show was such a blast, it felt like a wild card for me and this is while using an art style and art direction which I don't really like at all, I would have bounced off immediately or not even bother watching it to begin with but there is something special about this show that allures me. One "complain" I have that is entirely personal ofc is that a lot of the music was terrible, so bad not even Rudo would find a use for it, get it? because it was trash hehehehe, just kidding, if you like it that's fine but it didn't do it for me, I liked both EDs tho

Cool symbols.
If one of the symbols is a watchman symbol, could the other three also be different sets?

This painting by the first wizard, or more specifically, the character's outfit, looks a bit like a Spherite's outfit to me. Maybe the first wizard wore a typical wizard outfit?
I wonder what this "head" might represent. On the one hand, it resembles a construction worker's helmet, but on the other, it could be the flying Sphere, although the sides would have to be some kind of launching pad; then there would be a Barrier and Earth below.
