Ostrog got desperate this episode but he is a serial killer so he does whatever it takes to survive and escape.

I'm reminded of how crazy some characters are in this show. Keiji's speech and fall from that tower was unhinged.

This episode felt specially hardcore. Until Asirpa breaking the beating stick was average violence for Golden Kamuy. After Sugimoto arrived, was brutal. And then Keiji's death.

Golden Kamuy's absolutely bombastic and peak final arc is now in full swing. Some sequences didn't feel that fluid due to the pacing constraints, but they are definitely doing the manga justice with the direction and art quality. That transition into the ED was done really well.

A masterfully directed episode in a masterfully directed anime. The real treasure is not Ainu's gold, but this anime itself.

Boutarou the Pirate is a top 3 prisoner and I'm tired of pretending he's not. Getting slightly worried that they might be leaving themselves with too much to cover with only 10 episodes left

With the final tattoo revealed the days of meeting new prisoners seem to be over. A shame given how memorable some of them have been, but not unexpected considering how close to the end we are.

Ogata survives yet another ordeal. I'd say he's only behind Sugimoto in the amount of times he's cheated death. Love that amoral bastard.

The apocalypse is here, violent deaths everywhere, the first beaten to death then shocked by his own entrails and the second one decapitated like a wine bottle wow! Usami is dead; he was a funny character, but I'm glad Ogata survived—what a character! He moves forward as always the second immortal of this serie it's seems. I can't wait to see how things will turn out.

This episode was unhinged but really damn entertaining. Lots of brutal deaths in this episode, and Keiji's end in particular was quite something to say the least lol (very fitting for him to be honest). Usami finally gone too after Ogata outplayed him. If this episode is the standard for the rest of the Golden Kamuy season, this should be a hell of a run to close the show once and for all.

Phenomenal episode. The first two were solid, but this one is up there with some of the best and most well-paced episodes of the series.

Damn, I do forget how violent Golden Kamuy can get, so this episode was a proper reminder to me in how bloody violent its action scenes can be. What Asirpa did to Jack the Ripper was very tame in comparison to what Sugimoto did to him next.

Same goes for Ogata and how he got the upper hand to finish off Usami once and for all. At least Usami was able to reunite with Tsurumi for a rather powerful moment before he died from his injuries.

As for Keiji, his bold move amusingly backfired before he slid off the tower. Such a way this series was, his saw his reflection in a window, thought it was his father's face, laughed and then met the concrete below. I couldn't help but wince at how he met his end.

Knowing this series, I do see it having at least one more violent battle before the end. I highly look forward to seeing how Sugimoto and Asirpa try and get out of the burning beer factory.

Damn, this episode was wild even for Gold Kamuy.

Sugimoto violating the Ripper was a nice way to kick things off.

Next was Ogata's turn to showcase why he's my top favorite character in this series. This tough son of gun somehow always makes it. That shot was insane.

RIP Usami. He was a sick fuck, but we had good times, fun times..The character was an absolute trip and there hardly was a normal moment with him on screen.

Keiji's death was even more comical in how pointless it was. I guess he still had at least a last laugh xD

Only here you have significant reveals overshadowed by all the insanity going on.

WHAT THE FUUUUUUUCK WHAT WAS THIS EPISODE??? I don't remember since when I get hyped watching a final season being an anime-only.

The start made me laugh loud, Sugimoto went brutal against Jack the Ripper and... Usami is dead??? What a roller coaster this episode was.

Absolutely fire episode, get it, because the beer factory was lit on fire? Nah but really this was so good, an amazing climax to the Sapporo Beer arc, assuming the craziest stuff is done anyway, they still have to escape the factory and avoid the 7th Division after all. First of all, RIP Usami, he was a motherfucker and definitely deserved it, but I can’t help but feel sad that he died, he was such a fun character and had many great moments, I found myself liking him a lot over the seasons. But he was at least given a powerful death scene, that shot from Ogata paired with Usami’s last moments with his beloved Tsurumi, it was a great sendoff for this crazy bastard, bro even had time for one more cum joke lol, gonna miss him for sure.

There was also the final moments of the last two prisoners, Keiji man, what a sad goofy ass he turned out to be. Even in his grand attempt to disappoint many people with his death, it didn’t mean anything because apparently the code can be solved without all the tattoos, good for our main characters but bad for Keiji. Well at least he was given one last disappointed look before he died, his own, very fitting death for him. As for Jack the Ripper, he had a weird obsession with women giving birth without the need for a man due to he himself being born from a prostitute, a wild yet interesting addition to this lunatic, it even gave us another Ainu story in the process, but unfortunately for Jack, he got absolutely ruined by Sugimoto shortly after this reveal, and I mean damn that shit was brutal lol, deserved but wow, very metal indeed. And with those two prisoners being done for, and the reveal that Kodokura has the final tattoo, that’s it for the tattoo’d prisoners, we’ve come a long way since the first prisoner back in Season 1, gonna miss meeting new ones like we’ve been used to up to this point.

And lastly, after Ogata’s scuffle with Usami, it was revealed that he may be working with Kikuta who we already know is in with the government, that’s pretty interesting but I wonder when that happened, has Ogata always been a government plant or did they agree to work together off screen? Not sure, but it made for a good final moment of the episode as it transitioned into the ED, I’m glad it looks like we’ll be getting some nice ED transitions in this final season like we have in the past.

@Sheol01 Might I recommend the Riki Oh live action movie, it's crazier than that, but a similar murder attempt method. I think even the manga had that, only the anime skipped over it or otherwise modified it, but I've not fully seen the OVAs (because there's no official adaptation that was televised/streamed and may never be, but I can dream)

@Safaru Saaame, I immediately lost my appetite :') Sugimoto was incredibly brutal, but Tsurumi biting off Usami's finger also made my returning appetite leave once again.

Great episode as usual though! Loved the part where everyone went "pui" after Ueji Keiji tried to disappoint them all, haha.

Logical Sugimoto reaction after witnessing the things Jack was saying to Asirpa.

Ogata sniping Usami was so good. And Usami dying in Tsurumi's arms was disturbingly beautiful as well.

Fantastic episode. As in previous seasons, I gotta love these GK episodes where a lot of shit happens but pacing somehow doesn't feel rushed or anything.

The animation wasn't as good as last weeks episode but the action was top tier.

Everybody that died deserved it, even the violence that accompanied it. The 7th is definitely the weirdest military outfit I've ever seen in an anime. Tsurumi is truly one of one.

Ogata keeps cheating death to the point he is basically a deuterantogonist. This time he survived because of the Vegeta principle, aka giving a dangerous enemy an opportunity for the lols.

The Night Comes For Us is even more violent than this episode as well as being one of the greatest action/martial arts movies ever filmed. I wonder how much Noda was inspired by that movie while he was drawing this. I can't believe he didn't know about that movie. If you want to watch it, it's on Netflix. But the level of violence in that movie is excessive. You might think you can handle it, you probably can't.

Now that the prologue is almost over, it's almost time to see the next level of mind games and craziness that happens next. At least in anime, 2026 is a great time to be alive.

After Jack the Ripper's ramblings about Virgin Mary, Usami's death scene in Tsurumi's arms sure looked like Michelangelo's Pietà.

Didn't care that much about Keiji, but it was very funny that the final "disappointed face" that he loved to see was his own.

Brutal violence, hype-filled action, slapstick comedy, grotesque characters, Ainu lore, interesting twists and revelations, some pathos, and we can't forget the homoeroticism. What an episode.
