Average beginning of the series. But the "Crest of the Stars" also was beginning not so good so let's wait while they advance :)

Great start! I loved the first season unique atmosphere, and I'm really liking the development of this love story in such a bigger-than-life war scenario. There's just something about it!

Seems like not so much has changed since the end of the previous season.

Kinda a recap of Crest, but interesting to see how the war turned out and where it goes from here. Lafiel hasn't changed at all.

Also the Baron's younger sister? Uh oh...

Wait . . . So his "uncle" who looked after him, killed his father? And now his home world sees him as an enemy? Yet he doesn't care? Damn, he is infatuated with Rafiel, that's for sure.

It's not like he can do anything about it now. Might as well enjoy his time with Lafiel :p

Not sure about the final few minutes which was messy for the most part.
A decent beginning.

Jinto's father was executed after his "uncle" took over his homeworld to fight against the Abh Empire. Jinto himself was spared, as he had nothing to do with it.

I guess Lafiel will be Lafiel. She's slow to change.

Cast is the same, but the dub seems a lot more watchable than in Crest.

"What about you? Are you worried as well?"
"Not at all. You know when it's okay to feel depressed and when it's not."

[...]

"This is the home of your people. Up here in space, I believe in whatever you say and go wherever you go."

As much as I loved Crest of the Stars, only in the first episode of the sequel did I understand that I was watching something truly special. That dialogue in Lafiel's room is one of the most beautiful, heartwarming scenes in anime - we get to see how much Lafiel and Jinto understand and trust each other, and a glimpse of how deceptively tough and adaptable they both are.

Of course, execution is everything, and all of that is handled with utmost taste and subtlety, just one more example of the snarky, often sarcastic but benign verbal sparring that is the main selling point of this series.

some recap. their crew seems pretty chill.
as always, the conversation between jinto and lafiel is as smooth as ever. ah the crew knows how close they are. pretty amusing ^^

the feel of the show feels similar to last season. love it man

I liked this episode a lot. The dialogue, the cool visuals... and the romance actually seems to go somewhere! Can't wait to see where the series goes from this.

Enemy forces established a base within the outer regions of the Abh Empire? That's unbelievable, considering the military power and possessiveness of territories the Abh are supposed to have. I'd imagine there's some plan for dealing with this enclave, I hope so.

Good thing that battle was a simulation. Don't want the anime ending a few minutes into the first episode, lol.
