THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Basquash continues its slow decline into the morass. The story and direction have totally lost focus, the characters are out of character, and all of the sharpness and originality of the first 9 episodes have vanished.

And I think that if I hear one more character refer to Dan as being "The Legendary One" I'm going to puke.

What a disappointment!

I hope they get the series back on track. Because it was great. I think when they changed from staff it would get bad. Oh well. I have hope. And I will watch in till the end.

This episode isn't that bad. I like that Iceman surprisingly got quite an amount of character development this week with all those hints about his past and so did Miyuki, and we know more about the legend now :D

It's all good and stuff but the show long lost its unique appeal to me.

I wonder if the Moon will turn out to be one giant bigfoot that Dan will have to pilot to defeat the giants that created the world in one final intergalactic Basquash game.

The fanservice in this episode felt kind of random, just like the plot I guess. Still, it was entertaining.

Also, ball vs sword... Okay...

This should never have become like this. A person of legend? Gods? Aliens? Is this a sports anime anymore? They were doing well, and I rather enjoyed it. Now it's become so cheesy and bogus, I just have to laugh.

Considering I came into the show with low expectations, I love how the directors are taking the anime's plot to so many different and unique locations. Everyone seems to think the plot is a typical one to pass off, but I just suppose I'm lucky in that I haven't watched too many anime with this kind of a plot.

My main concern is how far they plan to take the idea, as they've already brought into play the creation of the planets, the main character being a legend, and I can't help but feel the "thunderbolt ball" is what Iceman's "Destroy" balls were trying to be, but failed.

I wonder if they plan to have Dan and Iceman face off, blue-black basketball shots against red-yellow ones would make a pretty contrast. I think the people who are complaining are simply taking the series too seriously. ^^~

After watching this anime for a while and taking the time to make an amv with it I can say that this pretty much sucks. It's just my opinion but everything about it is pretty dumb, especially the characters. It seems like a show that would come on cartoonnetwork but with all the lame boob shots that wouldn't happen. However, the nice artwork and unique concept by itself is enough to make this anime watchable but not enough to really make it enjoyable, for me anyway.

i still think its stupid that in a sport anime ther is such thing as " the gods created this planet when they dunked on it" come on its stupid
its somehow enjoyable now but i really like it before up until ep 9
Being a fan is like having a penis. Its nice to be proud of it But don't pull it out in public and wave it in other's faces

And i'm the only one who enjoyed this episode. :p
I don't think Basquash is a sport animé...
Not now... XD
Because when we have matchs, it's not for a tournament, cup or other thinks linked to a sport... ^^

The whole "legend who will save the world" direction bugs me. I liked the mystery aspect of the moon and I liked the story of the gods, but a basketball player will save the world? Really? Seems like an over the top attempt to be like TTGL.

The pacing was also awful. I have no concept of how much time has passed. Just seemed like everyone was very suddenly active in the Underground. And why in the hell would they put Dan's Bigfoot in the arena? It's like they're not even trying to hide the plot devices anymore.

That being said, I am excited about the prospect of Underground Basquash. Sounds like it could potentially be going back to the Rollingtown style matches, at least on paper. We'll see how that goes down. Crossing my fingers.

Hmm.... eh.... What are we watching again? Were they using a wrong script?

Still enjoying the show. I like the idea of the underground and how Iceman had apparently been there before. I thought it was silly to have them go to the moon only to be shot back down immediately, but this story seems to be more interesting anyways.

Don't know why so many people are trying to put this series in a box and label it a sports anime. At what point did it ever feel like your typical sports anime?

Weird epd indeed, can't say I'm liking all these changes but for some reason I continue to watch. It's just that compared to the beginning of the show this anime had so much potential, now it's like meh.

so they wind back down on earth and we finally get to hear this "legend", then they all go underground where dan goes into prison (yet again), then into a gladiator fight, escaping in his bigfoot. and iceman turns out to also have an artificial leg and came from, that place; plus sela and flora have taken on weird jobs from a bar, and mayuki is trying to repair the bigfoots, can anything go right for once?
the only way to stop a gamer from playing is either: beat them, or wait until they get bored (though 2% percent suffer seizures

Pretty good ep - liked getting more insight into Iceman's backstory.

This series was already pretty chaotic but now its just pure randomness, really went from almost reaching the moon to being smacked to earth and Dan fighting to the death in an underground city in the middle of nowhere.
