That was interesting. I have to admit, Arslan's group really knows how to gather information. Funny how Falangies easily discarded her facade.

Shagada definitely feels shady this episode, never trusted the guy in the first place. Decent action, I love how Daryun stormed right into the pirates nest like a boss against the pirates.

Wait, wat? Arslan's future wife and Silver Mask's are about to be imprisoned and burned at the stake respectively? Did I miss something?

That aside, holy fuck! Farangis' big, beautiful tits were even bigger and more beautiful in disguise! XD

Yeah, I'd mostly speechless and "huh?" like Graze did after saw and introduced to Arslan. LOL
Well that's pretty much guessed. Shagard must have taken part in this perfect-timing raid the pirate does all along.
Who can "resist" Farangis' charm?

Shagada pretty much exposed his role in the whole thing to Narsus with that conversation near the end. He took it too personally without a real cause to do so. If Narsus didn't figure this out I will be disappointed.

The ending was an unexpected cliffhanger from a completely different context.

Estelle, nooooo! We finally know the danger she's in that the ED teased, Arslan go save her!

I liked the end card by Morikawa, it was very neat seeing his art style outside of Hajime no Ippo used on another series.

I had a strong feeling that Narsus' old buddy was dirty.

And now its time for Arslan to go rescue his girlfriend!

Oh well Narsus's friend has been suspicious since the beginning so it's not a surprise at all

How are they even going to solve Narsus's friend issue + rescue in 3 more episodes...

Interesting episode without too much twists. Shagard is finally revealed as the pirates' benefactor, he was quite sketchy since the beginning. Looks like both Estelle and Irina are in danger...

So predictible le evil Narsus friend.
Narsus is too OP, there needs to be someone that can keep up with him
I could say the same about Daryun but Silver Mask did relatively well against him.
Dat Artwork by the Hajime no Ippo author.

Shagad being evil and working with the pirates wasn't surprising. Not sure if that was supposed to be a plot twist or not, but he seemed pretty sketchy since his first appearance and his conversation with Narsus in this episode pretty much confirmed everything.

What the hell is up with that after credits scene though? What did Etoile and Hilmes' love interest do? That seemed random, but I'm certain that mystery will be addressed soon. Plus, it would be really stupid if they didn't go back to address the reason for this.

Isnt the removal of a Viceroy and the appointment of another precise the kind of action that will get Arslan into trouble with control freak Andragoras?

Shagad being a villain was a given, but the bit after the credits was completely unexpected.

So as expected Shagada gave information about all the ships' merchandises to the pirates. They attempt with a fleet to occupy Gilan but they got destroyed by Daryun's and Graze's forces. Before that,Pelagius revealed that he was gonna betray Arslan because he was benefitted by the Par's current situation and lost his position as a Gilan's viceroy. So in Ecbatana Irina is gonna be burnt to death and Etoile is considered guilty for the king's assassination? What happened there? We need explanation.

The city has an army but they couldn't move it because of the pirates, it was said by the viceroy and Narsus twice.

Funny I knew that ''old friend'' was acting weird the moment he appeared. I hope this backstabber get what he deserves.

Yea plus it isn't weird at all the a large port city would have some army there. They would uphold the law and what not.

Narsus' friend was so obviously dubious. Don't like him at all. Even if he is better looking than Narsus.

Badass entrance by Daryun. Sad that this season only has three episodes left when it's so consistent in quality. One of the best shows of the season.

i can only say good things about this show. Once again another great episode.

Gaze as vice president will be so good. I guess he'll help a lot arslan and the others.

And elam got so lucky that narsus didn't send him to shabad. He would make elam work as a slave for sure!

I knew since the first second they appeared the pirates would get rekt by Narsus plan. The series totally fails to get me excited to the battles >_>
The scene of the viceroy being defeated was also predictable.

Shagad's reveal was very obvious, but I'm interested in him. Maybe (and when I say maybe, I refer to a very small possibility) he will be the first antagonist of the series to give problems to the MC and twart Narsus plans at least one time. Seriously, he is doing too much damage to the series.

The post credits scene was surprising. Hope Etoille and blind princess doesn't die. Also hope what Guiscard plans by trying to kill both.

I like the scene in which Narsus and Shagard argue about ideas of social system.

This anime often presents contrasting opinions sometimes both of which make sense to some point, like justice for Arslan (King should work for citizens’ life) and Hilmes (Usurped throne should be retaken by righteous heir), ideas to accept or refuse the existence of different religion, and the topic argued in this episode. Though sometimes I feel that heroes and villains, good and bad are rather obviously distinguished in this show, I still find those scenes really interesting.
Also, sometimes I find MAL users discussing exactly the same thing as Arslan senki characters do in the anime and that is also nice to read :)
