I don't think this series is a 10/10 perfect one, i don't think it's flawless, in fact it has asspulls and poorly written parts, but for what it conveyed and taught the audience, the plot, i think it deserves to be called a MASTERPIECE

I would think it has to be a 10/10 to be called a master piece, and this show is a high 8/10, so no.

the entire first season was mid

indeed but I don't think there's objectively masterpieces, cause everyone has they're opinions on things and masterpiece in one's eye can be garbage on eye of another

finally there is someone who also think it as a masterpiece , this series taught me so many things.

but it has to be considered that different people have different perspective , it can be masterpiece to someone and trash to others ,

although it was a great series afterall.

Well, apparently, a piece of medium is called a masterpiece, when it's very highly critically praised. And I haven't seen much critics praise it a lot.
Like, I've seen the show, I enjoyed it, it was great, but not a masterpiece.
And, personally, I call a show a masterpiece, only when it's flawless (Gintama is a masterpiece in my eyes).

Hmm, I suppose I should have thrown the /s in there.
No, it probably isn't a "masterpiece". In an actual denotative sense, that word itself is pretty vague and leaves quite a bit to personal interpretation; it's certainly arguable, I suppose, whether any piece of art, fiction, etc., is indeed a "masterpiece". Sure, you can go with critic consensus. I'm not sure how much more justificatory that is than any other human beings' opinions, but it's an easy route at least.
My point was merely that these forums are plagued by shitty takes with poor justification and support, often boiling down to "well, I enjoyed it IMMENSELY, therefore, masterpiece". And such posts are fun to lightly ridicule.

Oh, I apologize then. I actually took you seriously back then.

So, what I said about the critical praise, is how "google" defines a "Masterpiece", and I only used since it was the closest to most of the audience.

And, yes, I agree. If I was to save a dollar every time someone says "X show is a masterpiece" on mal, I would be rich as fuck.

I would agree with you. it's the best anime in telling the things that this anime is trying to tell. I absolutely love this show and though it's not perfect I think it makes sense to call this a masterpiece

For me the show overall is just pretty good, with some stupid subplots and poorly written villains getting in the way, but I'd be lying if I said the last half of S2 and it's ending wasn't great. To this day, Ass Class's ending remains one of my favorites to any anime. It just hits all the perfect notes.

Nobody cares the definition of masterpiece.(some do care actually i do too,but we wont talk about that here👀) I watch a fanservish Harem poorly written romcom anime,i like it,i really like it,it becomes my most favourite anime,I call it a MASTERPIECE. Others dont have to care wether the show i am calling masterpiece is actually a masterpiece or not. 👀✌️ It depends on the person👀

This anime got me so frickin confused because i can't say neither the characters , nor the story itself are the best, but somehow it made me literally cry my soul out at the end. I got really attached to Koro-sensei and the others that i felt empty when i realized that i actually finished the anime. And after giving a thought i gave this series a full 10 out of ten because making the audience care for the characters, laugh and cry side by side with them, leaving the viewers want the action to never end, that's what makes an anime not a good one, but a MASTERPIECE level one. So yeah, i consider Assassination Classroom one of the best animes i've ever watched and i would recommend it to anyone.

Ur literally just inviting arguments. Everyone has differing opinions on everything, so I don't see the point of this post.
But since everyone's judging it, and I'm bored, I'll include my own opinion too. Agree to disagree.
At least for me tho, it is a masterpiece. Consistent, little to no flaws, has everything that a great show of its genre would have (plot, characters, worldbuilding production quality, so on and so forth...), satisfying ending that's perfectly timed (nothing drags), and it makes people feel all sorts of different emotions. It can be super hype or genuinely deep and emotional in different parts of the anime.
What defines a "masterpiece" for me in the most objective form possible is that the show has little to no flaws, and even if it does have flaws, it either balances/exceeds the flaws in quality or the flaws just barely affect the entire show in its core. Masterpiece = Perfection. However, "perfection", objectively speaking, is near impossible for countless things. Therefore, an anime doesn't have to be perfect to be a masterpiece. After all, mistakes or flaws are the incentives to us exceeding our already set standards.
This show is the definition of that. I just can't name any flaws at all. To be completely honest, this is extremely difficult for any show, let alone anime, to achieve.
Thanks for reading.
