Episode 1 It's pretty common for grown men to remember and still feel passionate about their childhood crush, which for Tojima's case is Kamen Rider. He's a huge fan who wants to become him someday, but of course that's something frowned upon as an adult. But he does get a chance when the Shockers attack, and he's springing into action. This is a show that I felt Samurai Flamenco could have been had it played its cards right when introducing all those tokusatsu elements into real life, and so far it has been great.

There's a good balance of silly comedy, and serious mature theme with this. It's quite relatable to me (a 30 year old man), the idea of a grown ass man still clinging onto unfulfilled childhood dreams, and waiting for that passion to reawaken. I'm definitely watching this to the end. Hopefully, it has lots of mature topics to represent in the form of the Adult Chunibyo characters.

I've heard mixed things about the manga and this setup always seem to be good idea on paper and then a lackluster execution. It's not a bad start and I'm definitely curious. Hopefully it doesn't go off the rails like Samurai Flamenco.

Episode 2 And now, an episode focused on Rider's sidekick Tackle, or rather the schoolteacher Yuriko Okada who decides she wants to become Tackle. Her father was a huge fan of the Kamen Rider series and loved Tackle to the point where he named his daughter after the character, Yuriko Misaki, but sadly she was killed off in the series. And now at the age of 24, she's starting her career as a schoolteacher, and still has that sense of justice and love for Tackle much like Tojima with Kamen Rider. The two cross paths during a Shocker robbery. And then the end was pretty hilarious there with a livestreamer trying to buy out the store, but ends up being caught in a Shocker robbery, which oddly enough caused him to go viral. And it will be even more so once Tojima and Yuriko are at the scene. This show continues to do what it's supposed to, and as long as nothing like the infamous Guillotine Gorilla part that sent SamFlam on a downwards spiral happens things will be great.

I really love how they're animating the live-action scenes; it still has the classic 'Sentai' cinematography feel to it. I wonder if they used a somewhat similar (rotoscope?) technique to what Sono Bisque Doll S2 used. On the other hand, I'm not a fan of the 'blush' effects. That teacher just stripped in public... in front of a crowd... with phone cameras around @.@ Not complaining.

Episode 3 And here is the Guillotine Gorilla moment, but executed much better here than with SamFlam. While some of the Shockers are just brutes wearing masks, the leader is not human. As is that waitress Yukarisu at the restaurant. And thus, Tojima and Yukari have encountered monsters who are not from this world, and they are pretty good at disguising themselves to blend in with society.

The blush effects are kinda cringe, but they're obviously part of the intentionally dated art style, so I'm getting used to them. The fights are as good as May I Ask for One Final Thing and as for the "plot" -- well, it kinda bounces along.

what gets me is the Real Shocker we've seen so far are mostly just lying low. One guy trying to put a stop to the robberies presumably because it's drawing attention to Shocker Flashback guy just growing veggies and giving them out to anyone who wants them Evil Girlfriend working as a Waitress and keeping an eye on the blond guy The Monster guy did kill the YuTuber and the defeated Combatant, but seems mainly to clean up the scene.

Damn... the streamer and the Shocker guy became a bit too bubbly. I still can't decide if Tackle is too sexy or too much. xD I like that the show isn't focusing too much on the titular character, Tojima-- he's just been one of the cahracters these past 2 episodes. It will make it easier to watch his flashback/character-building later on since the show isn't overdoing it.

Episode 4 Even though Yukarisu is a Shocker that Yuriko beats into a pulp, Mitsuba is still going through with being her boyfriend. And then his brother Ichiyo comes in and lets Tojima know that the Kamen Rider V3 will never be surpassed by the likes of him. As it turns out, Ichiyo and Mitsuba lost their parents thanks to the Shockers and as such Ichiyo has made it his mission to eliminated them, which includes Yukarisu. Tojima sure did get a reality check here as while he talks big, when it comes to skills Ichiyo has him beat.

Took a look at this and, wow. Had to binge all four episodes. This and Sanda are head and shoulders above everything else this season. Both are weird, creative, well thought out, well executed and hilarious.

Now we got to meet all 5 Kamen Riders. Mitsuba and Ichiyo aren't as chunibyo as the rest though-- they really went through a real 'Shocker' experience, and basically had a real Kamen Rider origin. Their backstory was indeed... a shocker. :P I thought they were just gonna keep the comedy going with the granny laying the smacketh down on the minion Shocker's ass. Didn't expect it to go dark like that.

Episode 5 Just as Ichiyo shows how much he has mastered V3's moveset, Mitsuba is steadfast in his commitment to marrying the Shocker girl. Just as all that was going down, Spider Man appears, and that's not Peter Parker we're talking about here. He gives everybody a tough time and takes Yukarisu under his mind control, but that love confession breaks it. Pretty amusing to see all the twists and turns going on with this.

Episode 6 And with that, Yukarisu has defected as Mitsuba and company are out to take Spider-Man, who goes by the name Kumota in human form, down. But for now, the fight will have to wait after attracting unwanted attention. Afterwards, they hang out at a bar that Ichiyo and Mitsuba's sister Futaba works at (and appropriately named in numeric fashion), and Futaba sure does have anger issues. While that's happening, the yakuza and Shocker cult led by Nakao are making a drug deal, but things go awry and Nakao lets everybody know not to mess with him, especially after kicking that guy in the groin. But then comes Spider-Man, in his human form of Kumota. Lots of intrigue there at the end as it looks like somebody is trying to leverage the Shockers to their advantage or something.

Welp... we just saw one of the Kamen Riders- V3- get beaten up by an ordinary infuriated sister. He shouldn't face the Shocker Kaijin anytime soon. xD I was under the impression that the gangster guy was gonna be some kinda extension/unlikely ally of the main characters. Looks like I'm wrong; He might become the new vessel of Shocker.

Episode 7 And now, it's Nakao Wants to Be a Shocker as it explains how he became part of the enemies after Kumota becomes Spider Man and kills some rival gangsters. But with Nakao having seen him in action that Spider Man ends up trying to kill him to leave no witness. But wanting to join the Shockers, he transforms into one and takes out the rest of the gangsters. But their boss is dead, so the gang is dissolved. Pretty much, Nakao is everything a Shocker is supposed to be short of being part of that alien race, but now his allegiance to them is solidified.

Some of the grimdark stuff took me by surprise. I never know with this show. I've never seen Kamen Rider so I don't know if occasional gore was part of it. But I love the fact that Yukarisu seems to be the "voice of reason" in the team. Not that anyone pays attention.

From the ones I've seen I would put the violence level at about the same level as Classic Doctor Who stuff. There can be death and it gets serious and dramatic at times, but it's not usually particularly gory. Generally older Kid stuff There have been some remakes of the older shows for an older audience. I saw Black Sun and Shin Kamen Rider on Amazon and they were pretty good.

| "Holy thick Shocker mommie, Bat-Man! You killed someone!!!" -- Robin, probably xD They managed to make me sympathize with the Shockers, even rooted for the family man, then that Bat-Man just double curb stomped that dude like a watermelon. Ichiyo really delayed his match against Tojima, and even put Tojima in a disadvantage of having to go through both Yukaris and Yuriko xD I'd assume Yuriko would suggest a triple threat instead. SparkyBob said: She's the 'voice of reason' until she loses all those reasons because of her love for Mitsuba xDBut I love the fact that Yukarisu seems to be the "voice of reason" in the team. | Episode 8 Thunder Raiko sure is going to be tough to beat as she shows that she ain't messing around there. And so with the Kamen Rider squad needing to get stronger that they train hard and have a fighting tournament. But not everybody is pleased with the lots they drew as Mitsuba and Yukarisu are set to face off in the semifinal all while Tojima is tested right away against Ichiyo in the play-in match. So after all that, Ichiyo and Yukarisu switch places so that the brothers can square off and Tojima will face V3 in the finals if he makes it that far, which works out better for everybody. There's craziness even before the tournament begins. |

I know I'm pretty overly critical with shows like these being a Kamen Rider fan, but this is just super boring to me; and a tournament arc is the last thing this show needed. I can see why the reception to the manga I saw was mixed. Hopefully this is just a single cour show so I can be done with it.

Well first two fights of the Tournament are out of the way. but flat out, the one question I would want to ask Yukarisu "Was Kamen Rider Real?" They know Shocker is the real thing, so how much of the show was based on real things (also Yuriko....Yukarisu is gonna try and kill you again she catches you scoping her man out like that)

The first parts with Yukarisu were quite funny. Yuriko got a taste of her own medicine when Mitsuba stripped right in front of her, as she always does to everyone. She should now understand why simps salivate over her since she literally drooled over Mitsuba's body xD Also, this episode just established that she wasn't really that big of a Kamen Rider fan, with how clueless she was about the Kamen Rider references the guys were saying-- she probably just focused on the Tackle stuff. I'm surprised they had Mitsuba beat Ichiyou. I guess they're holding off on the KR1/V3 rivalry, and keeping his real strength for when they fight the villains. But at least they established and highlighted Mitsuba's quirks. Now, I wonder: Will they have Tojima go over both Tackle and Mitsuba as well? That will be one heck of a 'put over' for his character by those two (Yukarisu jobbing to them was expected).

Watched the last two together. I love how three of them are doing normal training, one is visualizing--and still losing--while Tojima is out there fighting a stinking grizzly bear. So love breaks the shocker programming. Wonder if giant female shocker combatant will fall for someone. The gangster maybe? Ai Fairouz killing it as Yukarisu, as usual.

Episode 9 The tournament begins with what's more of a comedy duo than an actual fight as Yukarisu isn't fighting like a Shocker there. In the end, Tojima got an easy W with that. Then it's the brothers squaring off as Mitsuba changes into his aikido outfit to fight Ichiyo. And it was more of a test to see if Mitsuba is Rider enough, and after an initial struggle, he proved that he is. Next up, it's Tojima against Tackle with the winner facing Mitsuba in the finals.

Episode 10 It's Tojima against Tackle, and it was quite an intense fight. While Tojima's moves are pretty vanilla, his stamina is really something. But in the end Tojima needs a lot more training seeing that Yuriko has been at it longer and not to mention she has youth on her side. Tojima looked like he had seen a ghost there, but he's back on his feet when he wears the mask for some reason and goes back to being down when it's off. So with that, it sets the stage for the fight for all the marbles between Yuriko and Mitsuba, which was unexpected seeing that Tojima and Ichiyo were looking to fighting each other in the finals, but neither of them are in the final round.

They overextended this episode. Tackle's determination phases went long and redundant. Entertaining though, action-wise. I loved the counter attacks, one after another. I also liked that Tojima was basically out of his wits during the fight, so he's only below Tackle in power level for now, not when his fully in it (titular character still in his lacking phase xD). I thought Tackle would just suddenly drop as soon as the fight with Mitsuba starts, then Mitsuba just wins by default. They really want to delay the encounter with the Shockers, I guess.

I got more entranced by her muscles build: lats, wide shoulders, rhomboids, scarily massive thighs xD As a prowrestling fan, her fighting style is my favorite in this show-- she uses a lot of grapples. Her "Ultimate Electro-Wave Throw", which is a double-underhook facebuster, reminds me of prowrestler Christopher Daniels' "Angel Wings", except Tackle had Tojima much higher, by her chest.

Episode 10 And the winner is Tackle as she shows Mitsuba that he still has a long way to go. Yukarisu is not exactly pleased about it, so she tries to take out her anger on Tackle, but seeing that she lost to Tojima, who lost to Tackle, that of course she didn't stand a chance. And then Tackle points out that she defeated everybody except Ichiyo. And then Nakao takes his fellow underlings to an idol concert as they so badly want to go to it. After that, it's back home, and while Tackle won the tournament, she understands that she needs to build stamina after seeing Tojima take all those hits. That was pretty silly how things turned out, but it goes to show that everybody needs to learn about each other if they are going to get strong.

YESSIR!!! Tackle and Rider Man wrestled the heck out! Take downs, submission moves, and all that. Tackle even put Rider Man in an under boob head lock. (Lucky bastard! >.<) Yuriko dominated each and every single one of them. I'd prefer the show be called "Yuriko Wants to be Tackle" at this point. Ichiyou fell in love with Tackle/Yuriko. Looks like he really loves being dominated. xD I liked that they started the show playing through the OSTs of each Kamen Rider. I'm conisdering this show for OST of the Season.

Episode 12 While the Kamen Rider squad has a meal together at a izakaya, Nakao just so happens to be there and Yukarisu attacks him, springing the Kamen Riders into action. Ichiyo isn't pleased that Nakao doesn't know who he is, but seeing that this is not the time or place for a fight like this that Futaba puts a stop to this fight. But the fighting continues as the riders gang up on Nakao with Ichiyo delivering the finishing blow. Pretty silly episode that was seeing that these guys should know better than to fight inside a place like that even if they are dealing with a Shocker. In the meantime, some monsters are gathering and are getting ready to strike. This was just announced as this show will be continuing into the winter season. No episode count was initially given, and nothing was scheduled to take its timeslot in the winter, indicating that this show was going to continue for a second cour, and that was just confirmed today.

That was a very fun episode in one way and another! Ichiyou is the MVP of the episode. His rejection was harshly funny, but he depleted all the sympathy away when he highlighted Yuriko's upskirting in front of everybody. xD He earned that brutal rejection. They really had a good fight scene in quite a narrow hallway, barely moving away from one spot. Impressive. Something tells me that Ichiyou and Mitsuba's sister is gonna be revealed as a Shocker. Fairouz Ai is definitely one of the best VAs this season.
