| WTH with the animation in the Hydra Battle... Are we back to the 70's? Rest of the episode was great. Ranka is win :P and Aimo its also pure win. I've listened to that song like 100 times by now xD |

| Typically, they can be pretty awful. The trade off is that Chihiro puts out their subs very quickly. Meh. |
| Well, I watched this episode subbed by them and thought that it was ok ( 7/10 ) . Plus, we can't be too demanding now since gg and gattai dropped it. Although, maybe gattai will pick it up because of the circumstances. |

| Looking at the replies regarding the short fight scene, I think they would have preferred it if the producers replaced the dynamism of the scene with well-drawn still shots in a flashback? You guys have weird definitions of QUALITY. At least to me. |

| One of the best episodes so far, it was really enjoyable with all the references to Zero, the love triangle (featuring Ranka this time, yay !) and the backstage of the movie which was really close to reality ;) Apart from that, I didn't like Macross Zero (well, it's vastly inferior to the first Macross, Plus and even Frontier) and I must say this episode is far better than the original series, which is quite funny. Oh and I found the battle with the hydra pretty interesting animation-wise, very fast and well-animated (even if the art was basic at most), quite artsy and definitely more original than a full-CG battle where you don't understand what is going on. It reminded me of Porco Rosso, which is a good thing. |

| Yeah, very enjoyable after finishing Zero recently, even though I wasn't a huge fan of Zero, I thought it was powerful. Ranka's getting even more awesome ... still like her way more than Sheryl! I think this is becoming my favorite series this season. |

| I absolutely loved this episode. Admittedly, when I started this episode I thought I'd opened the wrong file, but sure enough it was Frontier. As a Zero lover, this episode especially won me over. The hydra scene kinda came outta nowhere, especially with the animation style. I'm not sure if I liked it or not... Anyway, I'm really excited to see Ranka getting somewhere now <3 I wish we coulda gotten to see Alto crossdressing thought, sigh. |

| that Hydra fight scene was incredibly reminiscent of Viral from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, everything from Brera's character design, to the way he fought, to the animation (except the Hydra itself..that looked like it was out of Pokemon or something). the problem is, that fight scene seemed sooooooooooooooo out of place, and not just with Brera showing up (i already expected him to be stepping in to save Ranka), but everything about it was kind of random and thrown together. i think this is the first time where i've preferred a CG battle scene with mechs in space over drawn hand to hand combat o_o hopefully the animators will step up in their game and do a worthy looking battle next time that actually fits with the rest of the animation >.>; i do like Brera's weapon though <3 and the fangirl inside me likes his body lol (even if it's wholly/partially cyberkinetic :3) ^_^ can't wait to see more of his development |

| I've been a fan of Sheryl since this series started but in this episode, not so much. I know that she's been rather manipulative and finds amusement in toying with Alto but I thought that she took it too far this time around. |

| The animation of the battle was reminiscent of Noien and the Naru-Sasuke fight. Personally, not a huge fan, but there's those out there who'll say it's an artistic flare. Still, I don't think it wasn't that bad considering a large portion of the show's battles are done w/ CG. I think this episode has sold me on Macross F. Before it was mildly interesting, but now that the protagonists are warming up to full swing, the story's becoming so much better. Ranka was adorable this episode, and the movie tie-in just fit. (I'll have to go and watch Zero now) |

I'm pretty sure I know which direction the series is going in terms of the romantic aspect (overall plot.. who knows with Kawamori...) If they continue to make Ranka get jealous of Alto and Sheryl for the next 10 episodes I can see even die hard Ranka fans getting sick of her... they will change the dynamics between the 3 and it will happen soon. Kawamori prefers strong women like Sheryl, everything he's done in the last 25 years shows that. It's also easier to write a good losers ending for Ranka than it is to write a good losers ending for Sheryl. Last 9 months I haven't missed a single prediction when it comes to anime/manga romance and I doubt Sheryl and Zero (Vampire Knight) are going to break that streak. |

Very valid points, but I have the feeling something different may happen this time. While I don't see Ranka being a valid love interest (too much little sister syndrome really) I'm not sure we'll see Alto get with Sheryl either. It may be unresolved, or to be all fancy and modernised maybe it can be a yaoi pairing. A lot more shows are more open to that these days too. =p But seriously, I suspect neither will 'win' at the moment. But we have to wait and see I suppose. |

| This is officially my favorite episode in the whole series!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blushing ohime-sama!! Fighting ohime-sama! Rankaxalto kiss scene DESPITE sheryl :D! RANKA IN A MOVIE FINALLY. Ranka's song! Brera rescue :D lalalla YAAAAAAA :D:D:D:D Watched it twice. I'll ignore the fight scene quality. Which looked a bit like it was made from flash scratch. |
