Yea..

From now on. I'm approving all setups before games start.

Just keep all the games basic for now, until we have the members for multi-skill stuff.

We have ONE signup at a time. We wait for it to fill, then the next one opens. That way we always have games going on and we always have a place to sign up. It's fool proof.

Anyone have something to add to that?

Well, this thread had kind of died, so I thought we should revive it. Does anyone want to talk? It can be about anything, after all.

Hi Fo-Fai, I know I'm not supposed to talk about games in here, but I'll only say this: I'm sorry I doubted you.

It will be an easy lynch tomorrow, like you said, the last guy doesn't have a clue.

On to other things. No more discussion about games.

I love how much this club reminds me of going to the gym. You come in, say what's up, warm up your shot or whatever. Then you pick teams and play 5v5 half court. Then when the days done, only the gym rats are left, working on their jump shot.

Far out analogy I know.

I suppose that means I'm a gym rat eh? Well, I've never set foot in a gym, but I do work out. I still see your connection though. I guess that means you're a gym rat too. lol.

Well anyhow, I leave Sunday for a trip, so I'll be gone two weeks from then. I won't be joining another game for a while I suppose, which is sad because I really wanted to play another game with you. You're an outstanding player, and I mean that in every way possible. You definitely know your way around a game of mafia.

Thanks. Appreciate it. Same goes for you.

Not sure if we'll be around when you decide to come back. These places have a habit of burning out pretty quick. They aren't part of the main site traffic after all and it's tough to find decent players as it stands. If we are though, then please do play again. You handled yourself exceptionally well. I'm not a very easy person to play with/against. I know this and I've been cursed out for it. It's how I play though. I don't mean to offend, it's all in the name of fun and to a lesser extent, winning. hehe

Fo, your strategy is edgy, direct, and almost always interesting, but that's what makes it so effective. Don't ever change it; it's too good. Me on the other hand, well, as I said before, it's my very first time playing online, but I cannot believe how fun it is. I'll be back to this club, you can count on it.

No hard feelings for ratting me out to Jack either, (external digging eh), that conversation took place before game two was even set up, and I didn't realize that we couldn't continue it. C'est la vie.

You said something on the thread about how you found two people talking about the game externally, and you wanted to bring it to everybody's attention by telling Jack. I don't think I'm allowed to quote it here, though it's in the earlier part of day 3 somewhere.

Around the same time, I received a message from Jack telling me that someone had said I was talking externally about the game to another player. I apologized for it, and promised I wouldn't do it again. I think I've said too much. If Jack deletes these posts, I wouldn't be surprised. Sorry in advance Jack.

I don't want to rat the person out here. That would just be mean.

What's up Lucian? Can't be helped. Uni is starting up in a lot of places. Hasn't been much in the way of games going on. etc etc

Sorta why this thread is here, though. In case of such emergencies people can chill out here until games get rolling and whatnot.

My game? Planned to start it a while ago, as a matter of fact. I've just been waiting for the One Piece game to start on up. I've got about 10 or so people who said they would play already. Told em there was gonna be a delay, though. Well, most people who don't frequent the club I did.

I had it originally for 25 people. I'm thinking that might be a bit much considering how long sign ups have been taking. You think 20 would be better?

If you planned to start your game sometime around the 19th-20th, then my game might be coming to a close; thus more people would sign up for your game. It all depends on when you start, really. Oh wait, nvm, people don't have to stay solely on my game. I'd suggest 21 people, mostly because I like that number, and it was also the day I was born on.

In the matter of my game, it's dragging on quite a bit, but I'd probably say it was because of the new rule that people are taking day one in a really lax manner. Day two will probably be quite different though.

Hosting games is reeeaaallly fun to watch though. It's because since you know everyone's role, you can literally see what they're thinking and trying to accomplish with every post.

Since so many people didn't like Day one lynching, Jack and I decided to try something different. During the first day the town may collectively choose one person to investigate, not lynch, but investigate. The same applies for the mafia when they vote at night. So, in conclusion, all votes on the first day and night will count towards whomever you, (town or mafia), want to investigate. The town will learn their chosen person's role and alignment at the end of the day, and the mafia will learn theirs in the morning. Overall, we wanted to include this feature so that new people will have no fear to speak up on the first day, and no mislynchs will occur either. Normal lynching will resume on the morning of the second day.

I see. Interesting. Nobody likes to die day 1. Nobody likes to be the guy who pushes for the lynch on some one day 1. I understand that, especially with most of the games so far being something of a learning experience. Fun fact though. In the three games I've played so far in MafSociety there hasn't been a mislynch day 1.

Game 2 we lynched the executioner
Game 3 we voted no lynch (cloud was the reigning lynch candidate and I and some others successfully got him off the chopping block, I needed to use a bit of reverse psychology and harsh tactics, though)
Game 4 we lynched the SK

Just goes to show that lynching day one isn't a shot in the dark by any stretch. It requires activity and some good town collaboration in the form of silent nods, but it's pretty much always a good idea to lynch. Even lynching a townie gives you valuable information.

Voting to investigate a townie gives you much less information.
Voting to investigate mafia is a waste of a day for town assuming they can't kill at night and even if they could, confirming alignments is tricky to balance. I'm sure you've accounted for all of this, though.

Definitely, so far it seems to have worked out quite nicely in my game. We only included this rule because it's a really lax game, and day one lynching stresses everyone out. We also wanted new players to feel less cautious etc. The thing is, the mafia can't kill either, and this means it's basically an extra day with no chance anyone dying unnecessarily. If you ask me, the investigation will be much more useful to the mafia, and since the game is fairly stacked against them, they kind of need the extra hint.

That's a nice idea you & jack came up with, I like the no lynching/no kill thing but I don't like giving them investigation powers(wow, I might be an evil host XD).

I wonder if there's another alternative for that.

How about voting to lynch during the day time and voting to investigate during the night phase(the town will continue be able to vote to investigate for as long as the Seer/similar role is alive)

I like the idea of voting to investigate but lynching is a necessary feature too even on the first day
