A solid episode, it was over before I even thought about the time, great job White Fox. Really feel nice to have Moeka back to the game, she seems to turn on Kuudere mode atm but who knows what will happen next when they let down their guard...

Mahou was funny and well seemed to have yet to let go of Kurisu, her concern for Okabe is really something. Daru is a sick bastard but I'll forgive ya for balancing the mood of this traumatic atmosphere.

Lastly, Kagari holly shit, is she an upgraded version of Kurisu or something lol. Anyway can't wait for more of S;G0, the hype for every episode just can't die out that easily.

Before and after lmao, I’ll go with the before... Small delicious chest anyday

Something finaly happens I was already pissed that they just hinted at interesting stuff for the entire episode.

The story picked up much faster in the anime than the visual novel.

From next week or two weeks, it is going to intensify

More like 2-3 weeks. Next week is just Orbital Eclipse the next lowest point of the VN after A Stray Sheep (Episode 4+5 in the anime) and they probably wont even finish it in one episode. So it mostly will be Japanese Shaman Girls.

Wow, so that's Kagari? Talk about unexpected!

Okay, no, not really. This was suuuuper predictable, I don't know why they tried to hide it from the start. This would have been much better if there was no Suzuha + Kagari flashback, THAT would have been a good plot twist, to finally see how Kagari looks like and that she's exactly like Kurisu. What a wasted opportunity.

By the way, do you need to have an unhealthy bust to feature in this show or what? It's getting out of control, the original was 'a bit' more reserved about it.

I agree that Orbital is one of the weakest, but if they shorten it and plus the shrine scene, I guess it won't be so bad.

Twin Automata could be in 2-3 weeks with some changes to make it fit in a linear structure along and after Orbital and Twin Automata will be my favorite chapter, Antinomic Dual and follows with PR

Are you serious? In no way was Kagari's introduction meant to be unexpected at all. It's been foreshadowed in the previous episodes and even ep 4 obviously strongly hinted it to be Luka's dad's guest. The Suzuha + Kagari flashbacks were actually meant as a buildup leading to her debut so that's not right either.

About the tiddies, I disagree.. Luka and Maho don't have big ones so your logic is inherently flawed.

Exactly my thoughts... I was a bit dissapointed they revealed her looks in a flash back before this episode. Made the whole thing waaay to predictable. I wonder if she actually is Kurisu's daughter, seems to be very obvious but you never know with Steins;Gate.

Also it's a bit too convinient she shows up at Luka's place at that time, wonder if that is a major twist to be revealed or just lazy writing ^^

I feel like there is a reason Kagari looks so much like Kurisu. This is me just speculating, but perhaps she is somehow related to Kurisu? Her sibling or maybe even daughter? Yeah Idk, just a thought. Not sure how that would work since Kurisu is dead but I'm just speculating.

First post !

Great episode, the pacing seems a lot like season one - slow burn to start before picking up the pace. A bit of a darker tone still so far, it's weird to have Okabe without his Kyouma persona. Makes for a much darker overall tone without the comedic element. Keen for Episode 6, great cliffhanger can't wait to discover her identity.
Still searching...

The daughter thing is not ruled out because in the Alpha world lines Kurisu is probably still alive, isn't she? Because on the first ending of Steins;Gate Okabe rescues her and they can still see each other. I am very excited to see how this will develop.

Also about the breast thing.. did not notice at first but yea they sure grew alot for the half year the anime has advanced xD

He sure did. I feel as though the writers got too focused on Okabe's PTSD to remember that he got to know her and got over the whole Rounder thing. Trust issues I could understand, but he shouldn't be getting triggered and quivering in fear about it like this.

You guys should know that due to just making contact with moeka that got them into trouble. That's why Okabe is afraid, he's the only one knowing the truth, unlike before in alpha world line. Especially that he abandoned the fearless Hououin Kyouma personality

anyway

Can anyone tell me if it is better to watch the anime or play the visual novel. I would like to play the game, but I'm afraid that i won't enjoy the anime as much anymore. Although, if i watch the anime, i might not have as much fun playing the game.

At this point i would rather recommend to just watch the anime as the vn will directly spoil you, unless you dont like waiting. I dont think it matters much to know the overall story beforehand as its not a 1:1 adaption. It feels different enough despite following close and kinda works for S;G to enjoy both unlike other adaptions. The anime is more the emotional train, while the VN explains things in more detail.

I did read the VN of S;G after the anime and still enjoyed it (i read many VNs, so i sometimes catch on VNs after anime). I also do enjoy S;G0 currently despite finishing the VN 1.5 years ago. So you would still be fine if you experienced either one of them beforehand. Also i would still recommend you to read the VN, however after the anime to catch on the details.

So many little little things going on in the episode (Maho being stalked and mass animal carcasses), I'm sure most of them will start to make sense once the story actually starts rolling. As of now it's kinda hard to say anything, I've got no idea what the entire story is about.

I'm also curious what role Shiina Kagari plays in the grand scheme of things.

You are making assumption here, she just got the gist of it, he hasn't told her exactly what happened yet. And even if she knows, then what? Okabe had to solve the problem alone in the alpha worldline, except for kurisu, but in the end he had to do it himself.

Exactly, just by seeing his actions, Sharp as ever Suzuha knows she is not a good person in the aplha world line, hence the part where she will not let her guard down around her.

So I am certain now, Steins;Gate 0 is Steins;Gate on crack. I would be completely happy if this would become the number 1 anime on MAL.

Curious to see how things will play out now, the moment Kagari said she had amnesia I remembered that our part time soldier suffered from the same symptom after one of her time travels. This stuff is great.

Of course it wasn't meant to be unexpected, but I'd have to agree that it probably would have been much better to take that approach instead. All that buildup was rather meaningless when its conclusion was merely what we already knew being revealed to the cast, despite how well this episode was produced from a standalone perspective. I for one found myself focusing on minor contrivances more than what was going on, because so little actually happened since the buildup was to something that was already there. I can't say this episode was bad, but what it ended up trying to do was vapid & manipulative. It's a strong effort put into a weak purpose.

Also, you know the only reason Maho isn't well endowed is because the "token loli" jokes wouldn't work out as well if she was. It doesn't validate the sudden chest growth the rest of the female cast got either.[/prudishness]
Hmm I think people who disliked the buildup to the event and the event itself are taking it the wrong way. The buildup was meant for us to see how the characters (especially Suzuha) would react. The buildup is played on us, that means it's for us, but the "shock" effect is for our perspective towards the characters, not the event itself (seeing Kagari).

That's another way to look at it, but their reactions (and by they I mean Okabe & Suzuha since they're the only ones that know who were there) were as-expected as well. Seeing how this plays out for the rest of the cast is what I'm looking forward to the most in the next episode though.
