My face is soaked from tears, this anime is torturous. I love everyone I fucking hate this anime my body is in shock from pain and happiness of loss and the slightest gain I am destroyed, this anime is sadistic it’s masochism to watch it. It’s a masterpiece, one of a kind like none other and one of the worst anime’s to exist, it will eat you inside out. It will make you love each individual and kill you. I’m hurting myself. I love Tokyo ghoul. I hate it so much. I fucking despise it.

So it seems that Ginshi Shirazu's death is the biggest death in the show (if we exclude Hideyoshi Nagachika's non-canon death). One of the main characters of TG:re, and seemed to be a likable good guy who was young. And also has 205 member favourites. So yeah, most shocking moment in Tokyo Ghoul in general is Shirazu dying. Though, he did debut in the same season he died in, and was around for less than 15 episodes.

Kanae von Rosewald also died in this episode, but she came off as unlikable, and has less member favourites than Shirazu, and less than 100 member favs. Eto probably lived.

Hinami's mum Ryouko Fueguchi got killed off in season 1 of the original TG, but she was barely in it, and has only 6 member favourites. 2 other characters got killed off in S1, but they were both unlikable assholes, despite both somehow having more than 100 member favourites.
