It took me about 6 episodes to get into frieren. I suggest you take your time with it. I would not binge it as it is a show based more on vibes and building links with characters. There is no sense of urgency in the plot so Its something you watch slowly and take your time with.

I dont understand how people dont find it interesting from the get-go. when it first started airing I had a friend who wanted me to watch it but I was unconvinced bc of the artstyle. after 4 episodes I was hooked and didnt miss a single update from then on lol. the first 5 eps were so PEAK and the quality stays consistent from there onwards but if you have the attention span of a frog then dont because its a slow burn.

I'm not sure I know the episode that got me hooked, but it's slower paced relative to newer gen anime. You aren't immediately spectating an adventure, but you are watching the end of one, without knowing what the journey is. At least, that's why it took me a bit to love this show and I mean LOVE. To be considered is the pacing of this 24EP season relative to others that run 13EP. I would approach watching Frieren as a well-paced journey that unravels bit by bit slowly and subtly, while each character grows and learns in their unique ways. There is SO much depth of character for each. Watch up to half, if you still didn't enjoy it then drop it, we're in for a long ride.

the main fights happen in the ending eps only (like around 15 ig I don't remember) if that's what you are looking for but this show is kind of a wholesome tale so it's not everyone's cup of tea.

General rule so you never ask this again, you need one fifth to a bit over one fourth of a series. A single cour series that would be 2 to 3 episodes to get a rough judgment, a two cour series you need anywhere from 5 to 8 episodes to get a feeling for what a series is like and any major development happens anywhere from 7th to 14th episode often. Though this gets more complicated with series that are planned ahead to have multiple seasons though.

It’s good in the first ep, but that doesn’t mean it’s for everyone.
If you aren’t enjoying it, watch something that you will enjoy. Sometimes I try to watch something and I’m just not in the right mood, then I return maybe a month or season later and I find I’m enjoying it.
Although, the whole point of the show is for Frieren to learn how to appreciate the little moments and the very little time that people have; it is slower paced by design.
