Decent episode. I loved Fass, he was so adorable, especially with those puppy eyes when he begged Frieren to help him. I don’t know how she managed to say no to such an adorable creature, but I’m really glad Stark and Fern managed to convince her to help him, haha.

Putting Fass aside, I’m a bit confused. If the paper says that the hero’s party can pay their debt whenever they want, how exactly did the CEO coerce Frieren into paying it the moment he saw her? Also, is silver really that valuable in their world?

The soundtrack on this episode is good wit frieren action. It contains humour about frieren flashback stories and continue journey with stark and fern. They meet new elven in this new episode which are also friend of frieren a Long time ago.

That must've been the weakest Frieren episode I've watched so far.
First half had a weird lesson to learn. "It's okay to waste half of your life on something worthless". I disagree with that.
Second half was quite weird as well, why didn't Frieren tell Fern and Stark about her deal with the company? She worried them for no reason there.

Interesting first time frieren has mentioned about any elves. Also i imagine if they sell the first episode ore , they dont have to think about debt

Not a good idea to sell that crystal that could potentially be used against her in the future. Like superman selling krytonyte.

A beautifully crafted and atmospheric episode that showcases Frieren’s strength in quiet storytelling and immersive worldbuilding.
Life's too short for mid anime/manga. Don't like it? Drop it.

@Gator yep, they made the audience worry too. I guess that was the idea. It's still quite illogical of the noble to remind Frieren of a debt when she saved them all from the freaking DEMON KING. I didn't expect her to willingly obey to the laws of every country the gang visits but I guess this is a Japanese product, and if someone orders you to mine, to the mine you go.

Okay. They definitely didn't need to go that hard with the sequence of Frieren searching for silver deposits lol. Absolutely beautiful sequence tho, gotta say.

And hey, that's the fourth elf we meet in the series. Cool~

Milliarde just wanted someone else to go through the same struggle that she experienced by looking for something but ending up getting disappointed after finding it..poor man Fass became her play thing lol
Still the thing that you end up finding after looking for years but not meeting your expectations is just another thing to laugh about with your friends like Heiter said.
Forced to work in a mine for 300 years, my journey with my party came to an end 😅🤣Frieren's journey saw it's end there for a second. Glad that she was able to help them find silver and returned back.

Not a good idea to sell that crystal that could potentially be used against her in the future. Like superman selling krytonyte.

@Janethan23 Not to mention, there wouldn't be any buyers as it's essentially unworkable with and barely anyone even knows its actual value according to Frieren... and from those that do know how many would have that much money and good intentions behind their acquisition? Considering the latest arc in the manga especially, this could have been arguably the worst possible action anyone could have ever taken in the whole manga
.

It's also incredibly disadvantageous to carry around (and not everyone has a Stark to save the day with expected threats, let alone unexpected ones, like bigger demons assassinating people from the shadows), even they wouldn't have survived the upcoming next arc, let alone the next major arc.

Bringing the crystal is immediately proven to be a terrible idea by the writer having them (almost lethally) falling inside a cave that also just happens to trap them for being filled with the damn crystals (not to mention Fern having a phobia of being magically blind, they would have never got it, Fern would choose violence to rescue Frieren from her monetary problems than to even consider that, as show in this episode) lol

All in all, they wouldn't even be able to sell it most likely, talk about a uselessly unnecessary burden it would have been.

It's literally one of the funniest episodes in the Frieren anime adaptation! I really enjoyed my time while watching!

And thanks to MadHouse for cooking like this:

I can't really enjoy it if it was a PowerPoint adaptation!

Btw, is this Frieren on their coins?

@AmirHossein650 I think the portrait on the coins is supposed to be the goddess. Also, great animation in both the last episode and this one.

In the first half of the episode, I can relate to the feeling that all the effort expended was for nothing. I've experienced that myself, that is though the outcome was obvious from the start.
The latter part overlaps with the gold mine story currently making headlines in KAGOSHIMA-Prefecture, which I found extremely interesting.

I'm starting to feel the fatigue of the repeated typical Frieren plot, and I felt how evident that was with the first segment. Person from the past needs help with superfluous thing, ends in a nothing burger. I just find how they spent three whole months doing absolutely nothing irritating. If they're going to invest that kind of time in a plot, they need to show Fern or Stark learning a new skill or something so it feels somewhat worthwhile.

At least the second half was slightly more interesting. The one thing that continues to floor me is the blatant disrespect that Frieren receives from people. If Himmel can be remembered, so should the rest of his party, especially the one that can live forever. But it was a pretty smart way to get her to help finding an ore deposit.

The 1st story made me so happy lol, and the 2nd story was so funny, honestly if this travel and story were to end so abruptly with Frieren forced to work on the mines for all eternity, it would be so goated 😂
No matter what, I'll never understand why Frieren is always so broke, or carrying so little money, when in just a couple of days she could become the richest person in the world lol

I can feel you, but for someone who likes JRPG games like me, this kind of stuff is funny just like a sub-quest.

takkun_ said:

I don't think so. For me this show is simple but still meaningful. The whole concept is about the importance of time, enjoying it, and not complaining when you reach the end, 'cause it was your choice, so stay true to it!

Second half was really funny, wasn't expecting Frieren to get caught by the fantasy debt collectors and get sent to the mines.

@Sexyjutsu You think bro watching in 480p is bad? Half of the streaming services I've used outright refuse to allow me to stream higher quality video than 480p with a mediocre bitrate. Unless I'm on what seems to be "company approved devices" like a Smart TV OS, or a box like an Apple TV or Xbox it's 480p only. Even if my internet connection is fast enough, if I wanna watch on a mobile device, or basically any computer, it's bad 480p only.

Not to mention that some streaming services just have major issues like outright broken subtitles or horrible track selection. I think I was trying to watch an anime on Prime once and it literally only provided German, French, and Spanish Audio, with Japanese, Arabic, and Spanish subtitles. The original dubbed language for the show was of course Japanese, and they didn't have that nor the English dub for the show.

If I wasn't paying for Prime for other purposes I would've almost just canceled right then and there.

Bit of weaker episode for plot, 2 mini-stories both good but not on par with the greatness of other episodes. Overall a nice chill watch and as part of the season fit in nicely as a rest. Frieren is really good at teaching you there style and winning you over even in what would normally be a mid episode.

In true fashion the animators went all out on the most amazing scenes you'll ever see for no reason.
