| She looks at him sadened. "Do...I offend you? Are you....upset with me?" |
| Zaine looks at her, causing his face to turn a bit more red. "What? No! No, you haven't offended me. Why did you think that?" |
| "It just seems like after I shed to the goddess of my fear you were..upset." she grabs his hands softly. "You must strip of your fear as well." She looks up at him almost as if going into shambles. |
| "Well...you see..." Zaine starts. "I'm not upset and I'm sorry that I made you upset...It's just...where I'm from, girls don't normally just...take off their clothes like that..." He looks away from her again, embarrassed. |
| She blinks unknowingly. "O-Oh I didn't know it was a sacred thing on your plant. I will put it back on if you are more...comfortable." |
| "Well, I wouldn't say sacred," Zaine says, still looking away from her. "On my planet, a girl does not usually do that unless they are very close to the other person or a prostitute." Zaine laughs nervously. "I didn't know it was common in your culture...And I'm not...uncomfortable with you...like that. It just surprised me..." |
| She smiles happily. "Being in the nude is like breathing air here. I should have mentioned before." |

| She giggles. "I like you alot, Zaine." she smiles brightly. |
| Zaine looks at her, at her purple eyes. (What did she just say?) "You like me...?" He smiles happily at the thought. "I like you too Alan." |
| "Good!" She giggles and hugs him tighly. |
| Zaine hugs her back this time, his face still quite red. After a moment, he lets her go. "Thank you Alan, for trying to help me with my fear, but I still don't think I can think of water in the same way you do." |
| "Well, maybe one day." She smiles. "Your always welcome. It's my job as the Saiin anyway." |
| "At least you tried." Zaine reaches up to grab his pendant, out of habit, but finds only his shirt. He looks down in dismay. "Oh no!" He rushes over to his stuff, but doesn't find it there either. "Where'd it go...?" --- By this time, Cyn was frustrated. He had scanned the pendant and found that it in fact housed a fair amount of electrical power and even a memory chip, but he could not figure out how to access it. Alexi wasn't helping him at all. She just kept saying 'Give it back' everytime he tried to ask her for input. "Damn it!" Cyn says under his breath as his latest attempt to open the pendant fail. (How the hell do you access its data?) |
| GALACTA-HUT! Kyle dance on the stage next to a stripper. "YEAH LOOK AT DISSS S***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" |
| Galacta-Hut Lyle sits at a table, sober for once. "Ya know, Kyle, if Cassidy finds out we're here when we're supposed to be out on a job, she'll be angry." He takes a sip of his beer. "But f**k her! She's always making us do stuff. Who needs her!?" He chugs his glass and orders a few more rounds. |
| Zaine grabs his gear and heads back towards the room. (I'm going to kill him.) He flings the door open. "Cyn!" Cyn stands by the window, holding Zaine's pendant to the light. "Uh oh." Zaine takes a step towards him but stops when Cyn dangles the pendant out the window. "Nah uh." Cyn says. "Don't come near me Zaine. I'll drop it." "You wouldn't dare." Zaine snarls. "Try me." Alexi stands up. "Cyn! Give it back to Zaine." She takes a step towards him. "You too. Don't move or I will drop it." Cyn says. " I just need a bit more time with it, then I can open it and see what it says." "Cyn," Zaine says. "It's a piece of jewelry. It doesn't open. I would know." He inches forward a bit very slowly. Cyn moves his hand further out the window in response. |
| Alan runs in as well. "CYN! DON'T YOU DARE!!" |
| Alexi slowly reaches for her gun. Cyn watches her carefully. "Don't do it Alexi." "What choice do you leave me Cyn?" She says coldly. "Do you know what this could mean? What could be on this?" "Right now," she says, even more icily. "I don't care. Give that back to Zaine." Zaine takes another tep forward. Then another. (His attention is on Alexi. Maybe I can...) "I warned you." Cyn turns back to Zaine, who's now about 3.5 feet away from him. The next few seconds seem to run in slow motion for Zaine. He saw Cyn throw and release his grip on the pendant. He watched it fall from his hand. He felt himself moving as he lunged for it, but didn't get there in time. Then he watched in horror as it bounced off some rocks and land into the water below. |
| Alan gasps at the event she has just witnessed. "How..could you?" |
| Alexi stares at him in disbelief. Cyn just stands there, not saying anything, not looking at any of them. Zaine hangs out the window, watching the water. "No way..." he says quietly. "It's gone." |
| "....Zaine..I am...so sorry.." She puts her hands on his shoulders. |
| Zaine pulls himself out of the window. Cyn backs away from him slowly. Alexi still hasn't moved, and continues to stare at the spot Cyn had been in disbelief. (No way. Cyn never does anything without a reason for it...So what was the reason for this!?) Zaine grabs Cyn by the collar of his shirt. "You B*****D! You f**king B*****D!" He shoves him against the wall. "Why did you do that!? Why the f**k did you do that!?" Cyn says nothing. he doesn't even look up at Zaine. |
| Alan stands next to Alexi joining her in disbelif. "I..." |
| Zaine shoves him up against the wall again. "Answer me!" Cyn gives a humorless laugh. "What are you going to do? Punch me? Then come on! Hit me! But it's not going to bring back your pendant." Zaine does punch him. Three times. Hard, in the face. Then he releases his shirt collar. Cyn sinks to the floor. Zaine walks back over to the window. He turns to look at Alan. "You know Alan, I hope I can get over that fear of water. I'm going to need to right now." With that, Zaine flings himself out the window, and dives headfirst into the water below. |
| Alan gasps. "I feel as if I might faint due to all of this "excitment."" |
| Alexi looks at Cyn. "That's what you wanted wasn't it?" She walks over to him. "You were talking about him getting over his fear. This is what you were going for wasn't it?" Cyn laughs for real this time. "You figured that out quick." "Why this way? Why couldn't he---" Alexi is cut off when she sees Cyn holding up his hand. "You only truly get over a fear, when you have something precious to you at stake." Cyn says. "The only things he holds dear are that pendant of his, and her." He points to Alan. "And that pendant was a hell of a lot easier to chuck out the window than she would be." Alexi just shakes her head. |
| Zaine hits the water with enough force to pop his eardrums. The water is clear, even as deep as he is, making it easy to see. He looks around a bit before finally spotting his pendant. Frantically, he attempts to swim towards it. Zaine makes little progress at first, but soon understands what does and doesn't work. He reaches the pendant, and is hit with a wave of relief. Then fear grips him as he realizes where he is. (S**t.) He scrambles around, feeling his air leave him. His lungs burn. In a fit of panic, he remembers what he did before and starts moving his arms and kicking his legs in order to reach the surface. Just as he thinks the weight of the water is going to crush him, his head breaks the surface of the water and air fills his lungs. |
| Alan runs to the window. "ZAINE! ARE YOU OKAY!?" She yells down to him franticlly. |
| Zaine looks up at her. He's struggling to keep afloat, but he's managing to keep his head above water. "Yeah!" He shouts back between coughs and gasping for breath. "But I'm kind of freaking out a bit." He holds up the pendant for a brief moment. "I got it!" Alexi sighs in relief. Then she slaps Cyn. "Never do that again." Cyn smiles to himself, even though it really hurts to do so. (Least the kid can punch.) |
| Alan smiles and yells to him. "Great! Get up here!" she giggles. |
| Zaine looks around. He sees a small landing that he hopes he can swim to and get back to them. Though it takes him a moment, he starts to get the hang of the whole swimming thing. It wasn't so hard. Just put one arm in front of the other, kind of like a pinwheel, and make sure to kick your legs. (Not too hard). He reaches the shore, stops for a breath or two and to get his barings, then he makes his way slowly back up the hotel. Alexi took out her gun and started to change to the medical clip when Cyn stopped her. "No. Don't." He said. "I'll be fine." She nods. |
| Alan waits by the door anxiously so she can congratulate him. |
| Zaine opens the door wearily, still soaking wet. He looks about ready to collapse, though he does have a triumphant look on his face. His pendant hangs safely around his neck. |
| Alan hugs him and helps him to the bed. "Are you okay?" she runs her fingers through his hair. |
| Zaine smiles at her. "I think so..." His hands are shaking ever so slightly. He watches them, as he closes and opens his still-skaing hand. "I'm a bit shaky I guess..." Alexi walks over to him. "You're not hurt, are you?" Zaine thinks a moment. He pats his chest, arms, and legs with his shaking hands. "Nothing seems to hurt...I think I'm fine." Cyn sits as far away from Zaine as possible. |
| (Did you strategiclly leave your blanket like that so I would think you were still at my house?? Lol) Alan smiles happily. "You must be cold, I will find you some warm clothes." |
| (Yes. Yes I did.) Zaine smiles at Alan. "Thanks, but I'm fine. I needed to wash my clothes anyway, and they'll dry eventually." He shrugs and removes his sword belt and packs, as well as his arm gauntlets. (Should probably dry this stuff out though...) |
| Alan smiles. "Are you sure?" |
| Zaine looks briefly at Cyn, then turns his attention back to his gear. "Yeah, I'm sure." He stands up and removes his removes his tank top and waist cloak. "Do you have a place I can set these to dry?" he asks Alan. Alexi glances at Zaine, then quickly turns her attention out the window. (Damn! Look those muscles...mmm) |
| Alan smiles happily and takes them. "Allow me." she walks out to the balcony and lays it over the side. |
| Zaine watches her with a smile on his face. Alexi watches as if watching a sitcom. (Aw. They're cute.) Cyn remains where he's sitting in the corner, silent. |
| Alan looks at Cyn for a split second still smiling and turns again to Zaine. "I am so proud of you! Ea has most certainly blessed you!" She runs her fingers through his wet hair. "How did it feel?" |
| "How did it feel?" Zaine repeats breathlessly. "Well, uh...." He crosses his arms and then looks to the ceiling. "At first, it felt heavy; like it was crushing me...but then, when I broke through the surface of the water and actually started to swim, I thought 'Whoa! I'm doing this!'..." He looks back to Alan. "After I started to swim, it felt almost like I was floating. I liked that part." |
| Alan smiles brightly. "Much like in space, water makes you weightless." she puts her hands on his shoulders and looks at him in the eyes as the gem on her forehead glows a more dark blue. "You became one with Ea." another smile creeps upon her face. |
| (Except space will crush you) Alexi thinks to herself. (Unless you have the proper gear anyway...) Zaine shrugs, indifferent. "I didn't know your little thingy could change colors." He motions to her forehead gem. "It's kind of cool." |
| "It always stays a color of water but different shades. It's like a mood stone, really. Ea blesses everyone of Halloin with one however, only the Saiin can have hers change. Ea tells us that it's because people must understand fully and completely in order to listen to a priestess of our people. For if you do not listen to her messanger, how will you get the message?" She takes a pause and giggles. "And what is a "little thingy" anyways? This is not one of those." |
| "Oh, uh" Zaine says. "I was referring to your forehead thing. I didn't know what to call it so I called it a 'little thingy.'" Cyn still sits in the corner, keeping his head down. He hasn't moved since Zaine came back. (If I have to hear anymore of their drivel--) Alexi inwardly sighs. (--I'm going to go insane.) |
| Alan simply smiles. "Oh." she walks away to dry the wet clothes. AT GALACTA-HUT Kyle is dirty dancing with a hologram and pizza in his hand. "GALACTA-HUT F*** YEAH!!!!!" |
| Zaine starts taking inventory of his belongings, seeing which are wet and need to be dried. "So Alan," Alexi starts. "I'd like to talk to you." |
