I haven't seen the episode yet due to shitty internet connection but saying ALL Little Busters girls act like 'retarded 5 year olds' is pretty dumb.
The only one who fits that criteria is Komari and just because one girl out of like 6 acts like a 'retard' doesn't mean ALL of them are automatically retarded.
Next thing I know people will be saying freakin' Mio is retarded when she shows up :V

& as someone who's played the vn, LB cast>Clannad cast easily.I didn't see this much hate for Kotomi or Fuuko and they had really retarded child like minds.Kyoani's pretty animation makes even the most annoying/retarded things(Fuuko) adorable to people, I guess.
The vn did a way better job of making the characters likeable/not so plain so I'll give that to the anime only viewers at least.

Also why are people expecting plot out of this show at this point? Don't they know how Key does their shit, or what?

I just like every damn character here, and those soundtracks plus story made me think of those beautiful days I spent with VN... XD

I compare characters all the time.Especially with stuff like this that has the same people behind it(Key).

For me, LB's cast was way more memorable than Clannad's and they were all likeable in some way or form(yes, even Kanata and Komari).
Hell, a big part of what makes Refrain so good is seeing those characters you love suffering and having their friendship go through a rough time.It wouldn't have been nearly as good if the viewer wasn't connected to them.
I can't pick a character I flat out hate like in Clannad, therefore the cast is better for me.The 4 childhood friends are the highlight of the show(or atleast the vn) imo.

While Clannad has annoying girl Fuuko who is really hard to like, Kyou who is a textbook tsundere, Kotomi who is kinda retarded but at least cute, Sunohara who's pretty much the punching bag(Masato is way better at this role than he is), Nagisa who is pretty ok but not that great of a lead heroine(Rin and Ayu from Kanon are better), Tomoyo who is cool but a bit too perfect, Ryou who has the exact same personality as Nagisa and isn't memorable at all and Tomoya who is the usual skeptical Key main character(not that I dislike him, I just enjoyed that they got out of their comfort zone with Riki for once).

In the end, LB's cast had a way bigger impression on me.I watched Clannad back in February which wasn't that long ago and I didn't feel the best part of it was the characters like with LB. I've forgotten most of what made them appealing when it hasn't even been a year yet.

I do agree about the Clannad anime being better than this at this point.

Bah, this show gets more and more irritating for me the further it goes. I guess I cant handle mincing females. Doesnt help that the main female character is one of them. Not to mention some of the most annoying VA are doing the best they can to make me wanna strangle some of the characters (KOMARI!!!)
-1 for this episode and if they keep it up ill simply drop it, clearly not my cup of tea.

That disciplinary comity was pretty bad for just presuming Saigusa was guilty without even having any form of proof at all.
Besides if they think the roulette system is such a bad thing on those vending machines why don't they ask the school to replace the vending machines or deactivate those roulette systems.
There arguments where pretty easy to counter.

To me it seems that Saigusa doesn't get enough attention and trust from those around her, she probably didn't get enough attention in her past either this is usually the reason why kids cause trouble.
And she also seemed lonely when talking about Futaki nor did she seem to object her which makes me thing they knew each other for a long time.
They might even be related looking at there hair colour.
Saigusa was also extremely happy when Riki showed trust in her and she might even stop causing trouble when she gets involved with the group and people who show trust in her and care about her.

I played Clannad and LB VNs and either it's in the anime or in the game, it's just they're not really meant to be compare. Just read the character description of Haruka here, then you'll know why she does all those things and why the disciplinary committee is after her constantly. Though, I'd blame the committee for being douchebags for accusing her just because of the troubles. There's no absolute proof of how she stole the soda and there's also the fact that they said she shouldn't do the lottery because it's "unfair" to the ones who paid. Well, guess what? Who the fuck put the machines with the lottery there and who were the ones who didn't complain to the school?

I actually never played any VN so I don't really know what happens in most animes. I just read the character descriptions and synopsis to get a gist of what's to come.

she would be in same group as Masato, Kengo and Kyousuke... not to mention Kurugaya and her yuri-mode. So she probably will be causing, just in new interesting ways.

No. I don't think that is easy regardless of the source though I'm not going to say Clannad cast are better than LB cast. I played Clannad and LB VNs and either it's in the anime or in the game, it's just they're not really meant to be compare. I can compare them you know.They're characters in an anime/game, made from archetypes.I can tell if a character expanded from his/her archetype into something more when compared to the other.And like I said, alot of the same people were behind it so it's only natural to compare them.

Anyway, now I've seen the episode and it was alot of fun.Enjoyed the hell out of it that's for sure, Haruka's antics are so damn entertaining.The 3d marbles made me laugh so hard.
Kud scene was short again but she'll be getting her episode next week so I'm looking forward to that.It'll be so cute it'll induce diabetes, wafuu~

& Reading/seeing the comments/pictures posted here I thought the animation was going to be really terrible before I watched it but it actually wasn't that bad so I was pleasantly surprised while watching.Thanks, I can always count on you guys's negativism ;)

Um.. as much as i love lb! It will never be as good as the clannad anime.

Ive rewatched clannad to compare and holy hell little busters looks so amatuer after watching clannad.

Litterally EVERYTHING in clannad is better.

animation
story direction
Music direction
Comedy
character interactions
Dramatic scenes
Pacing

Hopefully refrain adaptation will make me eat my words
but honestly whatever jc staff comes up with. Ill always know in the back of my head that a kyoani version would have been better
