| It makes sense that she lost, after all he is a well-known chef who even won a top-notched medal. But she also won cause of her food’s care towards her customers and the warmth it had in it, which is also very nice. I do feel bad for Shinomiya though. It must’ve been hard being an owner-chef with no family or friends nearby and having to deal with racism on your own. It makes his attitude more understandable towards why he had no tolerance for his recipe changing since his workers were changing it to sabotage him. I’m glad to see he seems to have found a new drive because of this battle. His interactions with Hinako is really funny though haha. |
| Megumi’s cuteness is overwhelming!! |
| The outcome was predictable but doesn't change the fact that the match itself was fun to watch, although it served different goals than just deciding a winner and loser. Shinomiya needed the kick up the ass to reboot his passion for cooking and managing his restaurant after a stagnant period, and Megumi got to show off what she truly is capable of on her own when the pressure and stakes were high, while impressing alumni of the academy when she was a near failure at the start of the series. Shame that Soma lost in a battle that he truly tried to win and if he was in charge instead of Megumi, maybe a shock result could have been on the cards, but in the long run, this unofficial battle was a platform for everyone involved to truly shine in the future by receiving some reality checks. Including Soma himself. |
For a person that have Souma and Megumi how your 2 favorites characters (until the moment) in the show, I really liked this all arc. Souma is fucking badass, and I like how yet Megumi is shy and withou confidence, although she's is trying to change this. It's like Naruto and Hinata in chunnin exams. Let's go buddys!!! |

| Way to go, Megumi! The little Megumi-yokai were adorable! Shinomiya is still an arrogant bastard but he redeemed himself a little. If he could stop beating up poor, sweet Hinako it would be even better. Last but not least; Shinomiya's mom has a pleasant voice. |

| Got to be my favourite ep so far. The story, the character development, the unexpected turns, i really enjoyed it. And we got lots of kawaii Megumi instead of the henti fanservice, it was worth it imho |

| Dojima takes all the credit in this mini-arc. In one move, he saves Tadokoro, he teaches Shinomiya, AND he keeps Soma's ego in check. Man is a genius. |

| hmm not how i expected it to go but i definetly gained respect for those alumus, they were scary but they all do want the best of the students |
