| I'm telling you, these past few episodes have absolutely blown me away, they cannot keep getting away with it i swear. Rn this has to be my favourite episode hands down, this episode just felt so beautifully structured to me i loved every minute. Garfiel's past drop, as well as Subaru taking hits like a champ and a overaly content ending, man this episode felt like it had it all Garfiel's character development has to one of my favourites this season, they did an amazing job from having him more of a side character in the first half, to putting the main spot light on him at the end, and ngl he delivered really well, being the " wall between Sanctuary and the outside" an all. I found his past really interesting, and how it affected his later ideals. Furthermore that made Subaru's crack down on him, and eventually beating it into him, about how he was wrong about his conclusion he thought of when his mother left, that much more meaningful and emotional. Man all in all, guys had it rough, i'm happy Ram was there to passively - aggressively compliment him, and honestly a smiling Garfiel warms my hear. Man, i really did not expect Subaru to whip out an Unforeseen hand like that, although a much weaker one and practically a B-tec version, holy fuck did they do an excellent job at the build up. Every second i was telling myself " they're not going to do it, they're not going to do it. Holy shit they did it" probably one of my favourite scenes in this season. Interestingly enough, i feel like it's also a step for Subaru's development? Like rn i'm pretty sure he's juggling a few authority's at the minute, but it seems like he's more lenient on the authority of Sloth, so i'm really looking forward to see what happens because of it. Lmao, ngl i swear i could also hear Petelgeuse screaming in the distance after that xd The last few scenes were super upbeat, and honestly i think it was about time for it. Everyone on understanding terms "thank you" being exchanged and some jokes, Subaru's writing for Emilia in Echidna's grave (Jesus Christ Subaru, vandalism) and a now a emotionally at peace Garfiel giving head pats to the Ryuuzus. It's nice to see that, once you break through the blood, bodies and gruesome truths, there is a nice sweet reward at the end. The realisation that Garfiel is actually younger than Subaru, and by a lot, cracked me up pretty well. Especially they're talk at the end, truly felt like two friends, or two brothers talking together. Oh man that Emilia and Echidna stand off. Ngl, i wouldn't be happy too if two people started making out in my fucking grave, so i'm looking forward to what Echidna has to say. I really liked Emilia's introduction of herself to Echidna as well, Emilia's intro felt a lot more whole hearted and confident, like she accepted her past, who she is now, and that she won't let people bring her down anymore, honestly i see it as a massive 1-up towards her Character development. |

| Easily the best ep of the 3 , made me stop hate garfiel ffs , his backstory was better than otto's (who i like much more) or emilia's (from the movie) , but i feel like there are some small plot holes here and there like : 1. How did Subaru know of Garfiel's past and his mom ? 2. The stone used to revert garfiel back to his form was just an ass-pull , they didnt mention it anywhere yet 3. Is it time-stop when he uses shamac? but then how'd he speak during that and 4. How tf does hitting your head leave a cross shaped scar lol , it just appeared on his head Aside from these i feel like the scene where he uses the unseen hand had a silly ass sound-effect to it during a godamm serious scene and patrasche was cringey af . |

He talked with Ryuzu in Episode 14 remember? 3. Nope, that was just a visual choice of the Studio. When he casted his final Shamak, his gate shattered. 4. That's just you nitpicking, I don't think it really matters much. |

Subaru had already talked with Ryuzu about Garfiel's backstory. Echidna even mentioned about Garfiel during the last episode of Cour 1 regarding his isolation. 2. The stone he used was from Frederica. Technically, it was Puck inside the crystal who absorbed Garfiel's berserk mana during the stab on his arm. 3. I think that was the moment when he had realized that his gate got broken. 4. Maybe it was due to sharply architectural form of the wall where he was banging, or maybe it's just you being nitpicky. |

Kinda wish they foreshadowed that ability like they did for Invisible Providence I think it had already been foreshadowed within the Frozen Bonds movie (like he absorbed the former Great Spirit of Fire's mana and likely used Emilia's mana instead during the first fight scene from the first three episodes of Season 1)... so there was those hidden foreshadowing. |

| Garfiel has such a great resolve and really touching story backing it. Man, I love this guy. Patrasche gets her revenge XD. Awww Garf... Baby Garf and current Garf's smile *Heart Squeeze* Gsrf is turning 14 now!!!! So that is what Subaru was doing when he broke the promise. HEYYY EMILA DOING THE SUBARU POSE!!! I love that she is now acting like the rest of the people in this show. Reminds of how Nico Robin used to all poker face the whole time and now slowly makes funny facial expressions too like the rest of the crew. Go Emilia-tan! |

| Holy sh*t. Every episode just keeps getting better and better the more I watch it. Subaru and Garfiel's fight are entertaining to watch, and I'm also glad that we've got to see Garfiel's Backstory. At least Subaru has got another pal now! Mash and Da Vinci are finally together now. Oops wrong series, I mean it's Emilia and Echidna. I wonder what's going to happen next. That Emilia pose at the end though, she really imitated Subaru. |

| Well, this second season has given us backstory episodes for Subaru in his old world, Beatrice (kind of), Otto and now Garfiel, and each of them have been excellent in their own right. This one did a great job of fleshing out Garfiel beyond his previous role as a powerful obstacle for Subaru to overcome and helping him really feel like an actual, compelling character. And I love the twist of how mistaken he was about why his mother left, not least because he at least partially chose to believe that to make it easier for him. Besides that, right from the start of this second season it's been foreshadowed that Subaru would be able to use the Unseen Hand (or "Invisible Providence", as he's now calling it), so it was great to see that finally paid off as well after all this time, even if it wasn't enough for him to defeat Garfiel in battle; again, though, that's pretty much the point of Subaru's character to not be much use in combat so it didn't really undercut the moment for me at all. Looks like next week will finally see us get a true look at Emilia's past beyond just the hints offered by the Frozen Bond OVA. Interesting to see Echidna so openly antagonistic to the "Frozen Witch", though I'm sure it's at least partially out of bitterness about how she couldn't get Subaru bound to her. |
| Another amazing episode and Jesus Fucking Christ that episode was a whole 30 minutes. White Fox, your outdoing yourselves. Despite not having read the light novel, I can tell this is definitely one of the best light novel adaptations in existence from the comments of those who have read. Garf is a literal chuni lmao, welcome to the good bois club Garf. And Subaru has finally made good use of that sloth witch factor. Also really love Emilia's development, finally we getting that Emilia shine. Really looking forward to the next episode. |
