The pt-br translation on Crunchyroll is really bad. They probably used AI or Google Translation for it, it's just a direct translation from English, with 0 nuances.

This first episode was amazing. Good fights and story. I like this type of dark fantasy shows, reminds me of my favorite show Berserk. If anyone wants to read some dark fantasy mangas, you can read Tower Dungeon, Bugle Call and Centuria.

Dotta’s voice is possibly THE most annoying voice I’ve ever heard. Absolutely grating. What a shame. It’s hard to enjoy this show when you’ve got this squeaker chirping in the background. Please never hire this VA again.

I have to say the monster design is very good, they all look very creepy. Xylo was unfortunately accused of the reason lead to the previous goddess’ death but he had to do what needed be done. Studio Kai deserves all the praise for this episode!

@Genjiff You also noticed that the mixing had serious errors and the dubbing direction was poor, however, the voice actors were good.

But if the constant audio mixing errors and incorrect translations, giving a completely different meaning from the original, continue, this will be a case for reporting Crunchyroll.
(Since anyone watching the pt br version will end up having a bad experience.)

I mean you must be trying very hard not to see anything in this episode. And even if you think this is all just noise, the level of animation and action is impressive in it's own right, acting like that's just worth nothing is very strange as well.

And the main character and the backstory with the goddess, how can you say that there is nothing there? Besides the fact that this is just the first episode, of course there is going to be more backstory later on, so it's pointless to complain about it at this point.

I mean if you don't like it I'm not gonna argue because that's your opinion and I'm fine with that, but trying to make it seem like it's objectively bad, sorry, but no.

Sure, the animation was good, but Jesus Christ it is rare to see an hour-long episode contain this little actual stuff. This feels like some kid putting all their cool ideas into a mixer; there is no thematic through line here, no effective messaging or even a message in the first place. It's just 58 minutes of white noise, sure, (mostly) beautifully animated white noise, but there is no substance here, no characters, no good world building or dialogue. It just feels boring and flat. The main guy might as well be worse than mister solo levelling, cause that guy at least started somewhat interesting and only stopped being a character later.

It seems pretty obvious at this point that this story will be about his redemption/revenge for what has happened to him and most likely him dealing with his own past mistakes as well, as alluded by the end of the episode. What else do you want to hear?

Ultimately we can't know what the message or the moral will be in the end, as the story is just beginning. I feel like you're demanding everything be laid out after the first episode, which isn't how this kind of story works. If we were already at the ending and that's all the backstory we were ever given and the rest is just monster of the week, killing a demon every episode I might tend to agree with you, but at this point the story hasn't happened yet for the most part.
