| First episode and this series already starts with some action. Lots of dialogue too, which makes the episode pass a tad quickly IMO Let's see where this will go. |

| Ok, so I just attempted to rewatch this episode in order to start watching this again and I couldn't get through the first few minutes without bursting out in laughter. The dialog about stars is so damn ridiculously cheesy, this is the "superb writing" that people are talking about in this thread? And why the hell does Reinhard look directly at the screen? It's so goofy. Also there is something weird feeling about the animation, like it's extremely fluid and extremely stiff at the same time. I know this is just the first episode but this is painful, even if it's unintentionally funny, maybe it gets better after this but dear god I couldn't imagine calling this "the best anime ever made" based on what I just attempted to watch. |

| Coming from the newer adaptation of Legend of the Galactic Heroes my hopes are through the roof along with all the praise i hear from original anime adaptation. From what i understand the newer anime is a remake of the novels and not the original anime, so thats something to keep in mind. This first episode was a nice set up along with a solid battle. I personally find the animation throughout to be very nice, older anime and the detail throughout is something ive always enjoyed. Though this is the first episode we have already seen some action with Reinhard showing off his skills to the admirals and proving that it isnt all about numbers and strategy is a key factor in winning battles. Yang wen-Li seems to have plans to win the battle but he is stuck working with people who wont listen to him and that proves to be the downfall of them so far. They had three fleets set up and 2 of them got taken out and Yang has lost his best friend. If they would have listened to Yang i feel the outcome would have been alot different. |
