Pretty good series.

Lots of heartwarming moments with great feels.

I learned the word frazzled.

That ending with a grown up Sana holding flowers for Zouroku was very sad.

Oh what a charming show came to the end... well here's my thought:

The intro was briliant which was more than time it usual aired. The entire series didn't rush in storytelling or felt like filler-ish at some part. However, I think episode 3-5 were to be really weak episodes and I start thinking as bad until as I kept watching the whole new arc from episode 6, it gradually changed alot in term of charmness and the show got very delightful!! The story telling was okay-ish but who cares for here? It was soo darn charm and pleasing to watch!!

I think there was possible to get another 13 episodes like this way if only it could got popular.

Anyway, 8.0/10 from me. It was really fun! and yeah I am sure that I can easily recommend to others! One of my decent show of this spring 2017 season or might end up my top anime of this season. Great.

This anime took a strange turn at the end I'd say in the last three episodes or so and it left the overall story in a state of mediocrity but the final episode used all the positives of the anime to create a heartwarming ending. What I'm trying to say is I liked the last episode but the story overall ended up being just alright. I wish the would have stuck with the darker theme of the first half of the season with the agency and experiments I thought that was a good path to take the anime but it ended up being just a little too fluffy for my taste. Overall I would say this anime is a 6/10 one of the animes this season that I enjoyed a fair amount but will probably end up being forgettable as time goes on. I don't anticipate there being any second season considering they wrapped it up so nicely at the end with the older Sana so I guess we'll just have to take this anime as is and enjoy it for what it was...a pretty decent anime.
I shall rule over the realms of anime and manga! Mwahhahahahaha!!!

Nice episode.

Glad everyone got out of Wonderland safely. Ayu seeing Hattori again was sweet.
LOL Zouroko giving Wonderland a stern talking. This is the man you need when you want something done.

Sana going to school must be exciting. Sweet seeing Sana in the future.
Overall an enjoyable show with good slice of life elements.

8/10.

Oh man, this show was truly the underdog of this season. The feels during the ending credit scene hit my heart like Zouroku's punch. The future, the adult Sana. Guessing Zouroku passed away.

^I feel like this review analyzes the show pretty well, for those who are interested.

Contrary to what most of the opinions are so far, I actually thought Alice & Zoruku was a bit of a let down.

Shirasho said:
This series felt like a setup to something way more interesting. As it is this series was really underwhelming and rather boring. I would be way more interested in seeing the antics of the older version of Sana.

I would have loved if the Dreams of Alice thing was explained even further, who and what is Sana, I was expecting more details on her. What are the extent of their powers? How did they get it? What/who is even Alice, why are people doing what they do. Everything felt like a teaser. Perhaps the show mixed in too much SoL moments, which were awesome in their own right, and forgot about the more interesting stuff. The phrase has been used over thousands of times but this is an anime that I believe had so much potential but the story just kind of went off the mark a bit. Thankfully, it wasn't a bad show, I just felt like it missed it's target by a slight margin.

To sum it up in one word, underwhelming. With all of it's great characters and interesting world, it just fell a little bit short. Maybe the director needs a bit of scolding or maybe I just went into this world with the wrong approach.

I liked the finale, very happy ending for the kids. Really, really grew to like Hatori in the last two episodes.

7/10 for this series.

Yup. Anime original. The manga is ongoing with several volumes past the point Sana started going to school with Hatori and Ayumu.

I'm torn with this show. I liked it, but then, I didn't like it this much. The plot was great, but the storyline and the way things progressed...it was kinda meh. Action, then moe stuff, then action again...I didn't particularly like this.

Also, I hadn't realised the ending was probably adult Sana after Zouroku's death, and now I'm sad THANKS

Zoroku... yelled at the world... and it listened. The power of grandpas are not to be underestimated. And it all ends pretty happily and we even get to see her as an adult so we know she lived happily for years to come. Must say, this anime did not, in any way live up to my expectations, still enjoyed it though. A bit annoying at times, but worth the watch. I'm gonna miss it.

Zoroku scolding Wonderland lol. This seemed like a finale but I felt that it built more hype as if another arc/season was coming but the last scene sort of gave away the ending for the entire series so I dunno(the scene was still great).

I'd like an s2 since I felt the series was too short for all the plot points and interesting characters it has. I'm slightly disappointed how they handled the pacing and plot.

P.S. Zouroku is my man.

In my opinion, the strongest point this series has is it's atmosphere. At one point wonderland had a madoka magica feel to it and I was completely drawn in.

Hope they make an arc featuring an older Sana (Tamura Yukari voice preferred) and Zouroku still energetic!

Seeing adult Sana at the end, got me thinking. Was she just telling her story of how she grew up and met Zoroku, the whole series? That's how I saw the ending anyways. Final score is 8/10. I absolutely loved this series. One of my favorites of the season. The last scene gave me some feels. <3

It was a nice and aadorable way to end it. Im up for another season, if its posible, but i doubt it with that las images.
Thought they can run a second season, with Sana as a adult talking sometimes in the background about her memories, while the actual story plays with sana and friends. :)

Using "boku" and dressing in a male uniform could be tomboyish, however Ayumu is a boy's name. (Female form is usually Ayumi.) Then again, Hattori is also a male name, so maybe you're right...

I like to think of Ayumu as a trans boy.

I lel'ed when Zoroku actually did scold the wonderland, i was like "welp, the original sudden climax before the ending i guess." but i immediately took that back after Zoroku did his thing.

Definitely not the best anime ever, but it's still a good one, gonna give it 8.6 or something, gonna round it to 9.

While I liked the finale, I daresay, the show as enough potential to be so more than just this, nothing is ever fully explained, many plot points are just a mess or random guesses from the characters, wonderland is still a complete mistery too.
Sometimes nothing really happens, others stuff just happens at to a quick pacing, like the organization that pursued Sana getting dissembled just like that after ep4.

Sucks we will never know since I cant even find raws for the manga on the web.

OST had some really beautiful tracks that reminded me of May Hime's.

Best girl didnt show up alot but when she did, soo cool:

I didnt fancy much her normal attire, but when she transforms to this, it is like a mix of Lili from Campione and Lucia from Rewrite, so it was a look I immediatly took a liking to.

Love the ending sequence, overall interesting show.

This show has a lot of faults but there's something redeeming and sincere about it that grows on you. Underneath it all there's a genuine and profound dialogue about innocence and emotional dissonance. It actually became interesting seeing how these themes would try to surface through all the misses that the show has.

It's not a show that'll take you're breath away but it's something I won't be forgetting soon.

I'm sad this Anime is over.
I'm sad that I admit chance of getting season 2 is really, really, really small.
I'm sad that I still can't find the damn manga on the internet(translated or raw).
But more than anything, I'm really sad for how underrated this series is. seriously, searching anything Alice to Zouroku related on the internet is so god damn hard. like if you want to find some Image/wallpaper the result will probably the same everytime.

about the episode, it was nice and I was laughing at the part when Zouroku smash/throw the scooter after he arrived at Sana's side and then scold the Wonderland. enjoyed it until the last scene which give me mixed feelings(happy & sad).

That aside, I really enjoyed the anime from the start to finish. never expected when they make two parts/story from 12 episodes. the adaptation was kinda "straightforward" for me. what I mean is, we know that there are still many things left unexplained, yet the adaptation make me think that either the anime will continue sometime in the future or they tell us to suck it and buy the manga if we want to know more. TBH there was a time when I thought that the anime will be a long-running somehow. and with that last scene, it can't be helped if many people thought that it was either original ending or the anime is concluded for good with no room for season 2. in the end, I'm still satisfied with it.

and from what I see, it seems that the Anime was covered the story up to manga volume 4 or 5, since from the looks of volume 5 cover, Sana was already go to school and make friends with Hatori and Ayumu in volume 5(and volume 6 too)

Volume 4 cover

Volume 5 cover

Volume 6 cover

latest volume is volume 8 but god knows if we ever get a season 2.

last but not least, I wish I know how well the series currently doing. all I know(thanks to wikipedia) is that the manga was released in 2012 and received some kind of award in 2013. we don't know how much the mangas sells or the BDs sells since the BD will only release on July 28th.it will be nice if the series is doing well(at least in Japan).

P.S : I wish Zouroku can become my grandpa.

This was a pretty decent ending to the series.
Loved seeing Zoroku being himself and doing things his way. It was hilarious how Sana was actually afraid because she forgot to take off her shoes, lol.

The narration at the end of the show seemed so final. I guess it could be interpreted as her farewell speech to Zoroku at his grave, or it could be just her giving her thanks to him for all he's done for her up to that point. In any case, all we know is that she grew up well in a happy and loving environment with an elder sister, friends, and a gramps that dotted over her. That in itself makes the ending monologue a happy one for me, despite the emotional undertones it brought as well.

Overall I loved the show, and wouldn't mind revisiting this world of theirs, if it meant that we got to see more stories between the conclusion of this arc and that ending monologue. I too would like to know whether they've been following the LN/Manga story, or whether this ending was an anime original one.

Honestly thought this was one of the hidden gems of the season, so it was bizarre to see that the highest rated reviews on the main page for this anime were mostly negative.

Zoroku was a great character. An older gentleman who isn't portrayed as an over-the-top or pervy old man, like anime usually does when it comes to older characters. Best grandpa of 2017.

I feel like this show could have used another cour. There was obviously more story here, especially concerning older Sana. And the organization just kind of...disappeared. That's really my only disappointment. Really could benefit from another season, but we'll have to see. Anyway, great show. I'll miss Sana and Zoroku's relationship.

Hmm the transition to adult Sana was so out of nowhere. Maybe it's something to remind us that season 2 wouldn't be possible with this anime. As far as the show goes, Zouroku had little impact to the show as well even though he's an MC. Tbh their relationship wasn't really focused on that much 5/10, remove the mystery tag...

I'm really surprised! I think both anime and manga's cover don't convey the series' story. I thought this anime was gonna be slice of life anime like Amaama to Inazuma.

Pretty bittersweet ending (with Sana as adult bringing flowers to Zouroku's grave)... but I kinda liked it.

Can't say I liked the way how everything was resolved with Zouroku shouting to the heavens and how they didn't even bother to explain the massive outburst of dreams of alice children which was shown at the end of episode 10 but otherwise it has its good moments too.

6/10 This series would be certainly a lot better if not for the horrible opening arc in the episodes 2-5, the rest was actually kinda good.

Loved the OP Zouroku gag, they should have focused more on that. I get that the intention was to make him feel like a special parent-like figure to Sana (as seen in the ending scene), so the show should have focused on that idea, especially in the last few episodes.

So, I loved Zouroku moments in this episode, but as the ending, it was kinda meh. I find it hard to recommend this show to anyone.

that last scene tho..
It made me think that Zoroku already died, and Sana took over the flower shop together with Sanae.

Ichijo dissapearance only makes it worse (the expanding), it's like absorbing Ichijo powers to accelerate the expanding.

it is still unclear why Hattori powers collide with Sana, when Ichijo powers didn't.
all I could guess is All the color queen together (Sana as a Red Queen, Ichijo as Blue Queen, and Hattori as Yellow Queen)
