*CLAPS* Yayyy he got his stolen forms back! That made my week.
Cuz Tonari is a pain. I understand her intentions but the way she 'follows up' so to speak is annoying.

Damn, so he got the form because she died, so sad, I hope we find out how.
Enemy defeated, forms returned, and look like crazy is back next episode.
Damn, did crazy kill her? I hope not.

Great teamwork between Fushi and the rest of the island in taking down the Nokkers. I am legit glad he got all his forms back.

I still wonder if the girl we'll see Fushi fighting in the next round is responsible for Parona's death

A wholesome episode? Let's go!

I was kinda really pissed this episode because of Tonari she's so annoying lol but it's fine also she's really smart and can act in the heat of the moment I really admire that.

And when Parona made the arrows.. that was super hot.. my reaction was like the little kid lmao

Also I'm really confused with how Fushi got Parona I thought he has to be near the body to be able to transform to it but apparently not or he's evolving

Idk what happened this episode. The pacing was too fast and the animation was a clear step down. All of a sudden a large group of people spawn near the Nokker with giant rope catapults and have bows to destroy it? This was a mess and I still don’t care for that girl.

that man really wanted Fushi to kill him the very people who were watching the tournament not accept any deaths during the tournament is really they like to do that with any people he lost or the opponent killed himself, the old Fushi enemies appeared again and he managed to win with the help of the staff around him. this ending is already very interesting I'm finding this new arc amazing.

Oh, so Parona is really dead... Really? All that struggle just to be killed off-screen by the crazy girl (most likely)? Meh. I liked the callback to Parona's struggling with the bow though.

It's been a while since a character has annoyed me this much. Throughout the episode I really wanted to punch her so thanks to that random prisoner for doing it. Like, her friends aren't that bad and I even like the red haired one, but Tonari is insufferable.

As much as I love this show, I have to say that animation has seen better days. Weird cuts here and there.

On the bright side of things, at least Fushi was finally able to get March back.

I loved the part where they were like "We're out of ammo" and Fushi's like "I gotcha". xD

It was very cool to see them work together to defeat the Nokkers and also see Fushi regain his old forms. :)

Also, loving how much growth Fushi shows on a social and inter personal level.

got no sympathy until I see the backstory, even then I don't think ill be able to 100% forgive her actions, I mean she did rope in an incent person into this mess and his friend and show little remorse, I cant really think of anything to justify that. And I didn't mean empathy I meant understanding, you don't have to sympathize with someone to understand their predicament. Who knows what will happen though, this show has been 10/10 up until this character so I'm interested what they have to say about her as they've gone out of their way to make her irritating.

That's okay. I personally like piecing a character's backstory and intentions together based on the little bits of information and character moments they give us, learning or deducing something new about them each week. So in a way I'm glad we still haven't seen her full backstory yet, since I find Tonari compelling enough as it is. That's really what matters to me the most: not whether or not I can forgive a character for what they did (no matter how tragic Tonari's past turns out to be, imprisoning an innocent person for your own benefit is wrong :P), but whether or not I find them compelling.

It's those little insights into a characters's humanity that get me, man:

The more forms they steal from Fushi, the more retarded the Nokkers seem to become. A giant bear made of rocks that can obliterate forests and palaces yet can't break free from two ropes that are being pulled by a mere bunch of people. How?
And also, how is it that no one noticed a giant ass rock bear approaching the island until it appeared right in the middle of a main street?

Seriously, I can't wait for this damn arc to be over. Pacing is a mess, Tonari is unbearable every time she speaks, animation has been dropping in quality since the arc started and for the life of me, I still can't think of a way in how those "zombies" from the OP will come into play.

Why the fuck did the black robe man not give advice to fushi about absorbing things and vessels? Isn't that in his best interest given how he doesn't stop blabbing about how fushi needs to get stronger and grow? If he had taught fushi what are the mechanisms for aquiring vessels, fushi would have been much stronger now. Rather than that, what he has constantly talked about is how everyone will suffer if fushi is around them and how he should cut ties with gugu and try to become stronger. The black robe's actions don't seem to make any sense.

I still don't like Tonari.

Finally, Fushi got his friends back.

It took two or three episodes for Piyoran to return. No wonder I thought she had been missing for ever in the manga.

The brothers seem nice. I am worried about them. I almost want to remember what happens to them so that I would be prepared.

Hayase and Fushi are going to reunite next episode. I am excited! But, anxious as well.

We are so close to the last episode, so I guess this is the last arc. I don't want this to end!! I hope we get a season 2, and not a movie. lol

I'm gonna be honest there are a lot things I did not like about this episode. The first thing is Tonari I feel like she's just thier because the show needed another character also I don't know if this is her Voice actors first major production but the voice hurts my ears. It sounded like nails being rubbed against a chalkboard every time she spoke. The second and most important thing I didn't like is how they just decided to kill Parona off screen it feels like something that was in the manga but was cut out. As they had a line to explain that said I'm sure she died an honorable death. I'm not mad that they killed her because that's just how this show works. I'm mad because they didn't show us what happened, if your gonna kill off a cool character then talk about there death being an honorable sacrifice I at least want to see what happened. That being said the fight at the end was the best part of the episode. The plot may fumble at times but I'll be damned if the action didn't make up for it.

I had a feeling the show's peak was going to be Gugu's arc and it does seem that way

Tonari has been insufferable every episode she's been in, even if she's given some emotional back story and redemption, it doesnt just make up for having to put up with her annoying character for many episodes.

Well, i thought this episode will dumping the Tonari's backstory. Looks like i am wrong and they do that next. Welp, even Pioran also didn't tell Fushi the details story behind Parona's death, even though they were already met each others with the giant walls separating them. That's also a bit bummer. The fight part against the Nokkers also not using a better animation, adding more ehh impression to my enjoyment.

Still, the whole development of Fushi looks good enough this time. He cooperated with those islanders, using a limited transformation he got. Even including the Tonari's team help, which is bring a great impact of him to defeat those Nokkers, finally. However, his journey still not over yet there.

Once more battle awaits him, and its that recurring villain time. Can Fushi finally killed the human, like what the islanders wanted? No victor without a victim. Sounds fine enough reason for Fushi, right? Bring more trust to the islanders and you got the whole armies on your hands, Fushi....

What bad luck for Fushi to have his most useful form taken immediately by that Nokker. Kind of a badass moment when he was producing "infinite ammo" and its good that he got marchs form back.

Having rewatched the Coliseum arc in the original Kino's Journey anime just yesterday really highlights how weak this whole tournament arc really is. Actually, this whole situation on the island is just a really cheap, badly-written imitation of the countries in that series.

Some seriously stupid moments even beyond the Coliseum this episode as well. Firstly, the fact that Fushi can get so close to Pioran's jail cell and communicate with her by shouting without any guards doing anything - whether that's making Fushi leave the area or forcibly shutting Pioran up - is really dumb. Alternatively, if we're supposed to interpret that scene as suggesting there are no guards there, that's just even more stupid as Fushi could just go and get Pioran out of there with ease.

Then there's the fact that the Nokkers are able to just appear on the island in giant bear form without anyone noticing until it's more or less directly on top of them: it's a giant stone bear, stealth isn't exactly something it can do. And then there's the fact that the guys with the rope are able to hold it down for even a second, or that it even feels the chair red-hair throws to stop and look at it.

Also, the show still doesn't seem to understand just how outright unlikable Tonari is and seems to think that we as viewers really care about her based on some of the moments we got with her this episode (including that we were clearly supposed to be angry that she was punched by that one guy, even though she 100% deserved it). Every time she opens her mouth or is just present on screen, she's annoying and unlikeable. Truly the absolute worst character in this entire show, and that's saying something when Hayase exists. I'm sure we're getting her backstory next episode to try and make us feel sorry for her, but it isn't going to work.

Also, I feel like Parona deserved better than to be killed offscreen like that. I'm sure we'll get to see her death in some flashback when Fushi fights Hayase, but even so she deserved better.

It diminishes a person's ethical standpoint, devalues morality while it normalizes lawlessness.

Dude... chill.
Most people know how to differentiate fiction from the real world. I trust them to do it because most media is freaking violent and Anti-heroes are what's popular now (which I don't like either, actually). For all of that, this series is pretty inoffensive compared to most media (especially western media nowadays) if you ask me. Besides, it's not like it's "the message" of the story. It only happens this arc, and we're talking about an island made up of the most violent criminals in that world. I doubt anybody is taking the message "doing something bad i'ts okay if you have reasons" in a literal way like you. And honestly, that's not even the message at all. It's just circumstantial, and it's trying to be realistic as to what would happen in that whole island situation.

Sorry for the rant, lol

Man, if anybody is feeling like the production issues are getting in the way of their enjoyment, this is the time to check the manga out. As a fan of the original manga (I have it as a 9/10 even incomplete), I'm having a REALLY hard time trying to enjoy this. Not only is the production collapsing, but there are also subtle changes in the text that kind of give the scenes a different feel, not in a good way. Plus, the manga has a very intricate and detailed artwork that's completely lost on the anime. At first I was okay because, hey, it's animated, but this last few episodes I can't even say that.

Anyway, if you ARE enjoying this adaptation, then I'm happy for you, and I hope you keep enjoying it till the end (and I also recommend grabbing up the manga once it's finished)

But anyway. I feel some people are not liking the anime for reasons that only exist in the adaptation, and I just feel that's kinda sad. The manga is one of the best things I've read, and the anime is doing the opposite of what an anime should do, which is to raise the interest in the manga. Instead, it's turning people off, and it does feel cringy in ways and in parts that the manga didn't.

Really can't wrap my head around people deducting a point from the show over a character who is *very clearly* supposed to be annoying, and has some important backstory teased in the preview for the next episode. It's called character growth, people. Let's give this arc a chance.

Now, the animation? Yeah, it took a nosedive this episode. Still a 10/10 series. Better writing than 99% of the anime I've seen in years.

I'm kinda pissed at how Tonari has been adapted - in the manga she came across as more mature, down to Earth, and more badass. I think the biggest problem is the VA cause the voice just does NOT suit her character at all.

In general, I'm pretty disappointed with the adaptation of this arc so far. It just doesn't have the same impact as in the manga & Tonari being so unlikable is stunting the plot cause Fushi's development depends on the people around him.
