Great ep

I be forgetting this was Itadori's old hs friends (highkey glanced over it).

Hakari goofy asl.

Kogane is such a cute curse despite it's appearance.

Itadori vs helicopter guy was great.

NOT THE BALLS 😭

Lmao, it's always the baddies that wanna be deceiving.

Bruh we got a break next week, c'mon now.

This ep adapted the rest of ch 158, 160-161 and left off 2 pages of 162.

9.5/10

recap episode next week so whoever said that the production schedule for this season is going good is so wrong now since a recap episode in the middle of the season means bad production times are going on by default

anyway ye they do not know where higurama is

The recap is due to the olympics I’ve heard, so not exactly a production issue.

Kenny acting like a mom to Yuji's friends was funny, I'm glad we got to see them again even if they lost plot relevance by like episode 2 in season 1. Yuji's fight with the helicopter guy was a cool intro to the culling games and getting to see Megumi shut down the knight girl was funny. This episode felt a lot like episode 5 did where it was entertaining but was mostly setting up Higuruma as the antagonist for Yuji and Megumi in the next episode so I feel like I'll enjoy it more on a rewatch

Seems like it's just like other people said, that they already have planned this break from the beginning of the season, I also thought it was because of the Olympics, but if that was the case, the time slot would be taken and they wouldn't even air a recap episode.

These are some of the most ass npc enemy grunts in the history of all shonen manga, when this came out weekly it was absolutely miserable. Now seeing it animated they became barely tolerable.

culling games was the arc I was most lost on when I was reading the manga, so i'm glad to be able to experience it again through the anime for the sake of clarity. mappa must not be letting their animators sleep because the consistent quality is nuts. I don't remember much of this arc so i'm just excited to see what it has to offer in anime form.

I thought this was Chainsawman for a sec with that jet head and helicopter head lol. Great ep nonetheless.

Also, I really think that EP with Tengen exposition dump was really unnecessarily long since they could just explain the rules when the time comes. Like they could just briefly talk about the rules (Tengen ep) and explain them on later episodes.

I’m kinda proud of myself for remembering who Sasaki was lol, she mentioned she didn’t have her glasses and an occult club and it immediately clicked, I haven’t even seen the first half of Season 1 since 2020 so yeah it’s wild how I didn’t need assistance for that. It is interesting tho that Kenjaku let the non-sorcerers leave the game area, guess he just wanted it to be a battle between sorcerers with no bystanders in the crossfire, he even thanked Sasaki for being friends with Yuji, but then again, he did pretty much evict all of those people from their homes lol, I wonder what they all did after that.

And yeah the Culling Game has begun at long last, with Yuji and Fushiguro entering together along with Hakari and Panda, and Kirara on standby outside, and the first order of business is find Kashimo and Higuruma so they can get the rules they want added, well that immediately proved to be tough since entering the game area spawns you in at random locations, so yeah so much for going in together lol. Yuji versus the helicopter guy and jet woman was pretty fun, art and animation was quite awesome too despite them being short fights, but now he and Fushiguro are probably being led the wrong way by these folks they came across, Amai and Remi, unfortunate that modern day sorcerers ended up being unreliable like that but it should be interesting to see where they end up at, two weeks from now because we got a recap next week apparently, that’s tough but I’m fine waiting a little longer.

Episode 7 starts weird: a mage who possesses Geto's body invades a kid's dream to tell him that anyone can be transported outside of the Culling game colonies. Then he thanks the kid for being friends with Itadori? That was weird. Later, we see heroes planning their actions: defeat sorcerers with the most points and ask to add rules that would allow them transfer points. Another rule should let participants leave the game in exchange for someone else. Sounds good on paper. Kinji decides to go after the most powerful mage so far, while Yuuji and Megumi go to find another. That guy doesn't lack confidence thats for sure. Upon arrival in the colony, Itadori got ambushed by weird propeller wizards. This is where the exciting portion of the episode happens. In the meantime, Fushiguro stumbled on a suspicious damsel in distress who agreed to help him find the target. Yuuji meets a sidekick of flying wizards who is eager to guide him, too. One of them is clearly lying. Which one is bullshiting, we'll find out next week.

Damn I didn't expect them to go this hard for the propeller head guys, it's a good sign though because that means the major fights of the arc will be an absolute treat to see! Also, as always Goshozono is proving again with his brilliant directing that he is the best thing that ever happened to the JKK anime.

Jujutsu Kaisen has two peaks: one is when everything is serious and narratively significant, like the Hidden Inventory / Premature Death arc, the other is when it is just fun stuff back-to-back. This looks like the latter. A battle royale of sorcerers just sounds awesome! Surely at least one Battle Royale reference will be snuck into this arc by Gosso, right?

The Propeller Couple fight was pretty cool, and disproportionately well-animated. Not that I'm complaining: talk about some interesting uses of a propeller on a head for fighting. Megumi being roped into a duo with an exceptionally whiny woman is also fun. This arc seems to place some emphasis on Megumi: with his sister in danger, he seems to be willing to overstep his own moral boundaries. I'm hoping for good writing: JJK is not always well-written, but when good writing occurs, it is really good.

Also, that Kenjaku sequence was nice. I like how much of an enigma he is: he's a thousand-year-old sorcerer whose humanity is up for questioning, yet he still cares slightly about Yuji.

If Yuji is a player and he is outside of the colonies during the game, what's stopping him from just staying outside the colonies the whole duration of the game and cheesing the game entirely?

Most other players are inside the colony, and if his point doesn't increase within 12 days(by killing other players), he will die.

🎯 Truth Score : 9.2/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ (Amazing)

A tightly controlled and artistically confident episode that proves Jujutsu Kaisen’s ability to elevate its source material through direction alone.
Life's too short for mid anime/manga. Don't like it? Drop it.

Ahh, the good ol' nutcracker attack! It was something I didn't expect to see in a series like JJK, but I do applaud Yuji for using it against the rather tricky human helicopter opponent. XD

Although it was only for a split second, the face that Kogane pulled when Magumi chose not to here the rules of the culling games (Mainly since episode 3 was a thing) also made me laugh. I do hope that both Yuji and Megumi succeed here. Spawning in random locations doesn't help and neither does dealing with the enemies spawn camping, even if their strength wasn't a worry.

The ending to the episode was concerning as both of them were told different answers to the same question. One answer might be the truth and the other a lie. Heck, both answers could be a straight up lie. I do look forward to seeing which both is correct, assuming that one of them is correct to begin with.

@NezuSwallowtail_ Judging by the characters' personalities, you might guess, but notice how the director portrays both characters at the end. Their body language and the way they stand strongly suggest who is lying and who is telling the truth. The girl is annoying, I wouldn't believe her at first XD
