The series needs to be more like this, it was actually an episode I could rate a 9... fillers and poor slice of life comedy ruin this series, it had some good content from those early on, but the fillers were very boring watchs! Now this episode was great, sucks everyone died (except Gauron, I m sure). |

| Ugh...they're going to bring Gauron back...again. UGH! Gauron sucks. This anime just keeps bringing him back, for a fight that lasts a few episodes and then they do a few filler eps. We'll probably see him again by episode 21. |

| This arc was so damn awful and boring. A bunch of mercenaries that came out of f*cking nowhere with a lousy buildup and these guys want me to feel bad for them. Zero emotion. Hope they bring back the girls and the funny interaction in the Last episodes. |

| Even after their previous battles and their backs against the wall, that mercenary team still thought they could just 1-on-1 Gauron's state of the art AS complete with lambda driver? He'd already shown he could out manoeuvre them with ease, and on the off chance they did get the jump on him, he'd just reflect their attack back at them. Poor Gray got abandoned by her own damn suicidal team! Also hope Sousuke starts making proper use of Arbalest in future. It's supposed to be on par with Gauron's AS, but he continues to operate it as he would an M9 and barely uses the Lambda Driver efficiently so he doesn't end up in so many near-death situations =_= Loving the chill eagle taking in the sights though :P |

| The deaths were sad but I just couldn’t get over the fact that he chose not to use his lambda driver and basically let his team die |
| Im going to blame the loss of the squad on Sousuke, you obviously need a Lambda Drive to beat a Lambda Drive, yet he didnt use his own to beat the normal mechs ASAP, resulting in the loss of his squad.. |

| i'll be completely honest. This is probably the 6th or 7th time i've watched the full series starting with early 2004 when it was aired for the very first time by italian MTV Anime Night, and i'm once again dead damn serious about the following statement: best serious Full Metal Panic episode, and still set in stone as one of my favorites in existence for anime in general. Aware it is a extremely unpopular opinion, aware of some plot points discussed before in this thread, but what can i tell, everything clicked perfectly at least for me when it came to end this arc. It has the coolest title in existence, and damn, it managed to not make it look overblown. Some characters may not have acted rationally, but it's all part of the horrors of war. i'd replace "God" with "The universe" (no offense to non-atheist people) from Batist's speech, and it's something my 18 years old self was already thinking during first watch two decades ago, imagine... now. Still... i didn't want to watch the entire Sagara's supporting team wiped out. Gray... poor, poor woman. How once again i managed to restrict myself to just sobbing hard and to not burst into ugly crying is a miracle. And... yeah, the tragic character of Zaied. Not too much screentime for most probably to feel something, but not for me, everything that needed to be told was told in the needed amount of time, including when he held his former friend at gunpoint and Plan 1056 from the soundtrack was played in the best possible moment. Asking myself, once again, did he actually had a final bit of force to bring Sagara by force with him using the last ammo, or decided to let him survive at the very last moment by shooting the sky? It doesn't matter at this point. As a bonus, i never forgot how he has the same voice of Eikichi Onizuka in italian dub, and both FMP and GTO were running during the same months in 2003-2004 (to be honest, the second half of GTO) so it still seems odd 20 years later to meet a beloved acclaimed voice actor voicing a villain for once. Depressing ending, Chidori waiting for him at the front door. Never had a problem in confirming, this series is untouchable, immediately became a favorite in the 2000's and it still holds up strong. |
