| Totally meaningless unsatisfying nonsense, a fitting end to a remarkably weak show. This trash aired simultaneously with Cowboy Bebop, can only imagine how embarrassed the staff of Outlaw Star felt when they saw how massively outclassed they had been in every regard. |
| Great series, animation sometimes was disappointing but it has great character and an acceptable story. Enjoyable pacing though! The last episode was rushed, but I can't complain too much, it doesn't seem a strong ending to me. I prefer Cowboy Bebop because it was perfect from the beginning to the end, so I can give Outlaw Star a solid 8/10, even if it deserves a 8.5/10 sometimes for being amazing. I really hope someday this series gets revived and continued to a final conclusion. |

| A "good" ending with them being in debt again, just what I expected. Anime started off quite nicely, but the whole leyline plot was very random and did not make a lot of sense. Didn't help that author until the very end wasn't able to kill off those stupid brothers for no reason and they got annoying very fast. 5/10 |
| And that’s the end of Outlaw Star, the finale was cheesy as hell but damn I’d be lying if I didn’t say that it was freaking epic as hell. So what were my overall thoughts for this anime in particular? Well I hear that a lot of people like to compare this one to Cowboy Bebop and while I love Cowboy Bebop as a show in it’s entirety and is considered one of my favourite anime of all time, I wouldn’t really want to compare Outlaw Star with the former because I feel like these two are completely different beasts altogether with Cowboy Bebop being more serious with some funny moments here and there I feel like Outlaw Star is more sillier in tone with some serious moments here and there and vice versa. For a 90s anime I can really see why it was part of the same lineup as DBZ, Gundam Wing, The Big O, Yu Yu Hakuso, Tenchi Muyo and so many other classic shows on Toonami as it really brought out the action genre of animes that network had in the early to mid 2000s when it was still airing in the UK. The animation is very slick and colourful, Gene as well as the rest of the Outlaw Star crew are really well developed characters and very likeable at that. Plenty of action to be had and I feel like it has a lot going on for it. I think the story got rushed towards the end but the show itself was enjoyable for the most part that I’m willing to overlook it. Overall I’ll give Outlaw Star an 8/10. |
