That berserk mode looked cool. Mako is awesome as always, yay friendship power. I'm still trying to figure out whether Satsuki is good or bad, she's kinda both.
Well, I guess in the end everyone was wrong.
There is no force more destructive than an angry anime woman, that much is a given.
Ryuko was never nice to begin with, but everyone pinned Mako as the ultimate villain.
All along there was no evil greater than Ryuko herself.
Even Satsuki, for all her ambition and desire to destroy and subjugate the world, is not evil.
The only real evil is Ryuko's temper, even worse (if its' even possible) than Nui.
After all, she was just the messenger, the trigger for insanity.
Well, I'll bet we'll have a nice mental breakdown now that Ms. Nightmare Fuel got hit so hard it slapped her clean out of demon mode.
I go by many names, some call me Hoshimaru, others call me Jiro or Aosou-Kun.
I believe myself a force for good, a papercrafter by trade, and one who seeks love and beauty animesque.
I am the host of the youtube show Who Would You Do?
Apparently Nui was sent by Satsuki to get the Sword-Scissors and they didn't know about Senketsu
Virtual_BS said: My Original prediction (EP9):
This is the only way I can see things happening with what has been revealed so far...
Ryuuko will defeat the remainder of the Elite Four at one per episode, taking us to the end of ep12.
These fights will be challenging and Ryuuko will take a beating, but ultimately work out some strategy/level-up to end it at the end of each episode.
Ryuuko may or may not fight Satsuki in ep13, but that wouldn't have any impact on the second part of the story.
At this point (ep13 or ep14), Satsuki will reveal the truth which will go something like this:
The person that killed Ryuuko's father is Satsuki's greatest enemy.
An enemy that Satsuki herself is not strong enough to beat.
This being the reason Satsuki established that school system - to raise an army capable of challenging said enemy.
...With the most powerful uniforms ending up in the hands of the strongest warriors...
Her army was still not strong enough to challenge said enemy, with Ryuuko being the tipping factor.
She forced Ryuuko to fight her way to the top before telling her the truth because:
She wanted to get Ryuuko into the school system so that she didn't just run away and start a fight on her own.
She wanted to verify that Ryuuko will be strong enough to for the impending boss battle.
She wanted let Ryuuko gain fighting experience to become strong enough for the impending boss battle.
She wanted to keep her around as a strong opponent for her club leaders and elite four to gain more experience.
She saw potential for Ryuuko to be the leader of her army.
The reason for school system being structured to determine the wealth of the families is to motivate students to better themselves and their fighting ability.
This will ultimately mean that Ryuuko and Satsuki will unite against a new enemy for the remainder of the series.
The structure of the anime will probably change from a one-on-one challenge battles to an all out war involving all the characters revealed so far fighting together.
The Elite Four may also get stronger and we may see some successful four star uniforms.
Virtual_BS said: Update (EP10):
I foresee an upcoming twist with the new character, Harime Nui.
We don't yet know if she'll turn out to be a supporter or opponent, but it should definitely make the plot more interesting.
(Although surprise opponent is most likely the way this series goes)
Virtual_BS said: Update (EP11):
So basically, a good portion of my previous prediction was just confirmed.
Harime Nui did indeed turn out to be a surprise opponent.
Moreover, she revealed herself to be the one who killed Ryuuko's father.
Further speculation:
I predict that Satsuki's mother, Ragyou Kiryuuin, is the final boss.
It looks like she also wears "God Clothes"
One of her outfits moved on it's own when she went to get changed.
She's the one who orders Nui Harime (the person that killed Ryuuko's father) around.
Satsuki and Tsumugu both confirmed that.
Satsuki was visibly upset that Nui showed up at her school, knowing that her mother sent her.
I expect the second half of the series to continue as follows:
Ryuuko, Satsuki, the Elite Four, and possibly the entire school spend the second half of the series battling against Satsuki's mother and her subordinates
Regarding "God Clothes" and Goku Uniforms:
"God Clothes" are probably manufactured and widely used by the Kiryuuin family.
They may be partly responsible for the family's vast power and influence.
Maybe they even sell them as weapons to other elites.
Satsuki probably designed the Goku Uniforms
...as a scaled down version of "God Clothes" that regular people can wear...
So that she can build her army to fight against her own family.
The Sword-Scissor may have been made by the Kiryuuin family to counteract that.
It is a weapon specifically designed to fight against Goku Uniforms.
In order to ensure that civilians, now armed with life-fibre powered uniforms don't/can't challenge them, they needed a suitable weapon to destroy these uniforms, should the need arise.
Reinforcing the parts of my prediction from EP9 that have yet to come:
Regarding Satsuki making Ryuuko to fight her way to the top before telling her the truth:
In addition to all the previously made points...
She probably knew that Ryuuko would defeat them all and wanted to use the battle data to improve the uniforms of the elite four (and possibly in general)
Regarding Ryuuko and Satsuki uniting against a new enemy for the remainder of the series:
Now we know that this may turn out to be Satsuki's mother.
From the way Satsuki reacted to Nui showing up, it seems that she dislikes her, but likely also hates her own mother.
Satsuki may hate the tyrannous ways of her family...
By acting as a tyrant herself, she can build up her own army without raising too much suspicion.
Satsuki plays the part of the necessary evil to oppose a greater evil for an ultimately good and noble outcome.
Regarding the Elite Four getting stronger with better uniforms:
This episode just confirmed that they're already using Ryuuko's battle data to patch flaws.
So Satsuki may end up with a badass army after all.
Immediate Future Speculation:
Given that Nui seems to be very strong, Ryuuko will probably not defeat her in the next episode alone.
I see this going one of two ways:
The fight spans two episodes.
The fight is inconclusive, or Ryuuko faces a temporary defeat in order for the fight to be concluded later in the series.
If Ryuuko does defeat Nui, she will claim the other half of the Sword-Scissors and use it in future battles against stronger opponents. She may even take it during the battle and use the pair to defeat Nui.
Right after this battle, we'll see Satsuki & Ryuuko join forces.
I don't think we'll see that in this battle, because that would mean that Satsuki would immediately alienate her family, and she's not ready for that yet.
I think she'll keep doing what she's doing for now, but take Ryuuko on-board.
Update (EP12): [NEW]
...so the Ryuuko/Nui battle was inconclusive in the end.
They're probably saving it for later in the series.
We also know now that Isshin Matoi made both Senketsu and the Sword-Scissors.
The Sword-Scissors being the project that the Kiryuuins found out about, and Senketsu being his secret project.
Satsuki is still playing the bad guy here.
She admitted to using Ryuuko for research & development purposes to improve the Goku Uniforms.
She claims to be the one that ordered Nui to go steal the Sword-Scissors from Isshin Matoi.
Despite still acting like Ryuuko's enemy, it seems that Satsuki's intentions during the battle were to save her.
This indicates that Satsuki still needs Ryuuko for something.
...so I still stand by my theory that she intends to make Ryuuko an ally in her fight against a greater evil.
However, it seems like she wants Ryuuko to hate her with the way that she's selectively disclosing negative information.
So, we'll probably see Ryuuko vs Satsuki going on for a few more episodes than I originally thought.
Also, it is still a mystery how the other schools fit into this and why Satsuki is so determined to dominate them with her "War Uniforms"
Man I was hoping for my boy Tsumugu to shut Ryuuko down, but instead Mako used the power of friendship, which is slightly disappointing.
Overall, great episode with a lot of over-the-top action. Personally I hope Tsumugu will be able to stand a chance against the top-tier uniform users in the future. His guerilla tactics are pretty cool to watch.
Damn.......I think I've just fallen in love with Satsuki! When she got into that Kamehameha sword stance......PERFECTION! The most badass woman in anime history! <3
"No matter how much of a genius one is, in front of the Uchiha name, they're just ordinary people." - Sasuke Uchiha
I'm surprised that Nui is the real killer and she wasn't just making it up. So Ryuuko's dad made both the godrobe and scissor, I can't wait to see Matoi recovering the missing half of the scissor and use a dual weapon or a full scissor :D
Berserk Ryuuko is zombie-like :) So 3 schools are stronger than Honnouji academy? Seeing Satsuki wanting to conquer them all makes me think she's not really as good of a person as she seems.

BTW
Isn't Matoi Issin the most badass character?
srsly he is the ONLY one so far who could harm Nui, He kicked her in the balls, slashed her belly and made her loses her left eye
on the other hand Ryuko,Sanagayma,Tsumugu couldn't do shit
That "people die when they are killed" reference LOL
Loved this episode even though the resolution to the problem was predictable. The fight was intense and it was cool to see several characters involved in the battle. I think Satsuki is building an army to eliminate Nui's group and she's lying to Ryuko so that Ryuko is still motivated to becoming stronger so when the time comes she can help Satsuki.
Unlike most people here, I don't like Mako that much and it annoys me every time in anime when the character is overwhelmed by their own power and comes to their senses with friendship besides special cases (Gurren Lagann's GRIT YOUR TEETH). Would have preferred they shot her with that bullet and she survived. This episode made me love Satsuki though, I was meh with her at first, but she is growing on me. I'm just hoping for the plot twist that reveals that Satsuki was a good guy all along. Ryuko's berserk form creeped me out but I think that is what they were going for. I liked the fighting betwen Satsuki and berserk Ryoko. Dr. Matoi is a badass also. Nui annoys me as well with how OP.

“You should enjoy the little detours. To the fullest. Because that’s where you’ll find the things more important than what you want.” ~ Ging (HxH)
Dr.Matoi is the MAN! I want more flashbacks, even farther back then this, maybe even to what inspired him to become a rebel against the current government, even if it's him as a child or a teen, around the same age as his daughter, I'll gladly take it.
Such an intense episode!
Very good fighting, and it pulled a lot of the story together as well. i was very impressed with the art on the battlegrounds as it was changing too!
Thanks for giving us the worst 'monster' transformation ever, Trigger.
If you go berserk, monster like, at least be a true monster and not that 'thing' that was half animated and looks too silly that I thought for a moment, I'm watching a comedy show.
This over the top is making me tired. Also despite the name Kill la Kill, no one beside Mako father died.
I wonder when the great turn around comes. I hope soon. I'm starting to getting real tired of this show. It's nothing near anything epic.
Fairly underwhelming ep... Not bad, just that they really created a lot of hype with the previous episiode and it didn't really lead to anything
With the post credits scene, we are pretty much back to square one, only Ryuko is now detached from the main plot. I hope this beating she got at least makes her develop as a character now. Now after being used by Satsuki, she's being pushed aside. This arc had its moments but I didn't feel like it ended well. Needed more revelations, more revocs or nudist beach intervention, more answers etc.
Satsuki was the highlight of this episode easily. And they definitely screwed up with Berserk Ryuko's design. Felt like it was their opportunity to come up with something cool but it ended up looking like something that a kid drew. Another gripe is I don't like how the majority of the fights in this anime are just comprised of still images. Would like to see more freeflowing action. There was a hint of it whilst Satsuki fought Ryuko but it only lasted a few seconds

i agree. the fights in this show are just still images with talking, then a random powerup and 1 attack. worst type of fight scenes, i hate these.
