I'm betting Grandma pulls her out of it and makes her sing again, but it looks like Madoka will take a stab at it too.

This is too sad. Mitsuki has turned in to an empty shell of a body with no reason to keep on living.

Nice new ED too. Next up Madoka to the rescue?

Selfish bitch, all she cared about was Eichi, she didn't care about singing, anyone else or anything. Look at her now just because she finds out Eichi is dead, serves her right.

I thought the whole point of they went to America was to sort her throat out, what happened to that? success? failure? They didn't mention anything and came back to Japan. And the doctor at the end is recommending them to go to America again?
I'm confused or plothole.

You really are a heartless idiot, aren't you?

When you lose something or someone, you don't focus on what you still have, you focus on what you have lost. She is f*cking 12 years old, the object of her affections is gone forever, she terminal cancer and less that a year left to live. How does one suddenly just recover from this much devastation? Especially A CHILD? Mitsuki cares A LOT about other people and her dreams...but she is in a state of SHOCK right now so give the kid a break!

How would YOU react in the same situation, at the same age, do enlighten us?

No, I am not heartless. I'm a big crybaby when it comes to sad scenes.

Mitsuki should be happy about that she is dying soon, considering she was lying on Eichi's grave and begging him to take her episode ago.

I don't know how I would react in that situation because in RL, people including me don't usually understand or fall in love at the age of 12. But in anime, people usually fall in love at the age of 7-8 and childhood friends, elementary school students start to confessed to each other at that age then the romance starts.

That's not how Mitsuki is. She hasn't even been able to absorb what is happening and that's why she's walking around like a lost soul. I think you need to stop and think about what death really means to a person. As for lying on his grave, I've always interpreted that she was hoping it was only a nightmare. In any case, she's not in her right mind at the moment and yes, people do stupid things when they're not in their right mind. It's part of being a human being.

I don't know how I would react in that situation because in RL, people including me don't usually understand or fall in love at the age of 12..

You don't have to. All you have to do is put yourself in the situation of working really really hard for something, for risking your life and many other things along the way, only to find out your inspiration is suddenly gone in a very horrible and untimely way. Whoever it was who inspired you is dead. It could be a lover, a parent, a friend, another family member, whatever.

Don't get me wrong, I hate the EichixMitsuki pairing and support Takuto with all my heart. But even I can understand why Mitsuki is so broken. This turn of events is enough to break ANYONE, and since it is a child who doesn't even have a future, double or triple the blow. She's in a type of depressed trance right now. All she needs is a slap back to reality and she'll be good to go.

Mitsuki's age is a major factor in why she's acting the way she is. Her age and up-bringing have led her to become overly naive, and innocent. The shinigami gave her hope and a chance that she never thought she could have.

It must have seemed like a miracle for Mitsuki to be able to sing and rely on Takuto and Meroko. And now that Eichi's dead Mitsuki is shocked because not even a miracle was enough for her to see Eichi.

He was dead as soon as he left the orphanage. Mitsuki probably thinks Eichi died because she didn't pluck up the courage and tell him that she loved him before he left.

She's really beating herself up but our trustworthy Takuto will work something out like he always does. After all, he is the best speaker (both motivational and passionate) in the anime.

This episode made me feel extremely sad. Damn,I'm hoping so much for some kind of deus ex machina twist just to bring Eichi back.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

The scene at the airport and the one with Grandma telling Mitsuki that she should've listened to her was infuriating. It's like she had been right all along. However, what the hell happened to the new procedure created by the American doctor?

I think because of Mitsuki's broken state, they didn't want to force her into an operation; that could actually kill her if she doesn't have the stamina or will to live.

Yeah, that's what I figured, although from a different scene from the next episode. Not sure if the American doctor said something about how important her mental state needed to be, I might have to rewatch that scene later.

He didn't...but another doctor addresses the issue in...either 44 or 45 when talking to (her grandma maybe?). 'If the patient doesn't want to get better, we can't cure that.'

That was the scene but since it happens in a future episode, I didn't want to go into much detail
