| I'm using an MSI Wind U100 netbook with Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.7 and it almost feels like a MacBook Nano when compared side by side with a normal MacBook. Sure. because it's a netbook, graphics is a no but music mixing is still possible with the USB guitar ports and line-ins. But to you, normal Mac users who bought the >$1000 iMac/MacBook/Pro, do you feel that people who install the Mac operating system in standard PCs have ripped you and Apple off? |
| I don't necessarily feel that way. I feel it's just a choice you make, hackintosh or macintosh. Either way, the person is still running OS X... Besides, most hackintosh owners buy a real macintosh eventually and it's quite good to test the OS beforehand before 'jumping into it'. But that's just my opinion. |
| I don't really care. As I don't care for people pirating any kind of software from the major companies, they have more than enough money to deal with it, especially Apple who sells iPhones and iPod with ridiculous margins :) |
| Actually, you can't really call OSx86 as Warez although the distribution of the OS is illegal. It is possible to install OSX using a BOUGHT retail Leopard DVD. |
| AngelRayne: if you buy the original DVD and install it on non Apple hardware it is the same as pirating it. Remember that you don't buy the software but the license to use it on Apple branded machines. Every software company always retains the intellectual property on the software :) |
