the only episode where kenshin and kaoru are together alone. kinda romantic. like how the animation crossover with the real world. however, i wish it ended with what megumi was saying about if kenshin fought one more time the same way he did with shishio. overall, the series was great and now im off to read the manga to find the true ending

"Post-Shishio" episodes were not that bad imo. At least they are better than Naruto or Bleach's fillers, aren't they? I got some laugh, some fighting, some romance... I feel like I'm ready to watch the OVA now, which is the #1 Anime in the list, really really looking forward to it. I heard from someone they have more impact if you watch them after the 95 episodes...Lets see.

This could have been very good as a stand-alone episode. But, as an ending, it does not do any justice to the series. And that sucks !
Don't talk to me about character development if Kaizuka Inaho or Slaine Troyard are in your favorites. |

I have no idea what happened in the last ten episodes. It just seemed like a load of rubbish straining for viewers. The fillers seriously dragged the show down. 7/10

I agree. The whole show for me was a 10/10 until the filler season started. So I downgraded to 7/10, which is a shame because Rurouni Kenshin is the one of my favorites of all times.

So... I just jumped from episode 62 (End of Kyoto Arc) to this last episode. I would have preffered the Kyoto arc ending over this. Oh well onto the manga to find out the true ending before I watch the Reflection OVA. Overall without the fillers I'd give this series a 10, especially the Kyoto arc. With the fillers from S1-S2 I'd give this a 9.

Half a year... Thinking about that is weird. Kenshin was a wanderer for 10 years before the start of the anime. TEN YEARS. Look at everything that happened in this short half a year, y'know. I can only imagine what all happened in those 10 years he was a wanderer. How did he even survive without Kaoru to take care of him? ;o This was a very romantic episode in context. It's not directly stated, but there's a vague implication of a mutual acknowledgement and understanding of a love shared between Kenshin and Kaoru. I think this is portrayed best in the scene where Kaoru reaches out for Kenshin's hand, and they're both clearly awake, then further emphasized when Kaoru goes chasing after Kenshin after the nightmare. Honestly, this would have been a decent ending to the series. That said... nothing really happened. I was struggling to pay attention during parts of it. As romantic as it was, it didn't really grab me. I definitely didn't dislike it though, so 5/10. I always feel really melancholic after finishing a long series, sad that it's over. But at least Seisouhen should be a better, proper ending to the anime series as far as I'm aware. Then there's also a huge portion of the manga to read when I get around to that, so yay~ lots more content! Side note: Is it just me, or was the animation improved in this episode? Everything looked a lot crisper and more... modern.

Leaves a lot to be desired, that's for sure. At least Reflections gave us an ending... but that sure as hell wasn't a good ending either...

Low budget af. You could really tell by all the irl shots.

This episode had some intricate looking shots, like Megumi wrapping a bandage around Sano's hand and Kenshin and Kaoru entering the minshuku. I thought the irl shots looked good and set the melancholic mood this episode seemed to go for perfectly fine. It's true that it did linger on some shots a bit too long, and there was a lack of film grain? It looked slightly different from the main series indeed. But overall, if you need an epilogue or sorts, you get that in the last chapter of the manga. Personally I don't feel like the epilogue does much other than spelling out Kenshin's life after the events of the main story, so while it's not bad, it also is pretty unremarkable. I would take this melancholy trip as an ending over the epilogue any day.

I found very funnily off w/ the amount of real images & footage of the ocean. but my gooood was it boring. i giv it extra points for the real location pics. but i swear 80-90% of the anime focused on just still images both real & drawn. i mean this is anime, a sin animation, so it feels very cheap that very lil movement or talking went on for this episode. It almost feels like the completely ran out of budget just before this episode
