I was curious as to the best way to get manga now a days. I used to buy it at curious comics but have not gone in like 2 years. Can anyone give me an update?

I go to Phoenix Comics myself. Not sure how it compares to other shops in Calgary, but I like the environment and the staff are always great. I think they also just charge the US price as well which is nice, and you can sign up for a 10% off card on all comic books, manga, etc.

I saw the the first two Manga adaptations of the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya yesterday at Dalhousie Chapters, and was seriously tempted to buy them. I'll have to check out the comic stores when I can, though these days I rarely get to an end of town with a comic store.

I personally just go to Chapters...Since it's just somewhat far for me to go to Phoenix Comics or Comic Kazi (Which I wish was still at Northland...), since I live all the way in the farther end of the NW...

Great White in Southcentre mall has a good selection, provided you aren't looking for volume 1 or 2 >_>

So true! But they do have a convenient pre-order option, just like chapters and indigo.
I get most of my fix online because manga is an expensively dirty addiction.

However with lots of my favorite series, I do end up buying them eventually. I find that Chapters almost always has what I'm looking for.

Aside from stores, I am reading Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu and Yotsubato! at Mangafox. I know the former isn't translated into english yet, though I will likely buy it when it is. I should read more Yotsuba sometime, as its by the same creator as Azumanga Daioh and has some odd humor.

I did not know that. Now I can start collecting again!

And Chapters' collection seems to keep growing.

The only thing I don't like is having to check three different spots (manga, teen manga and kid manga).

Yeah Rukia I agree with you. I wish they kept them all in the same general section...

Phoenix Comics on 16th. I've been to a lot of places and the selection there's by far and away the most comprehensive. Not just in range of titles, but in the completeness of the series. If I'm ever missing a volume, it's the first place to look.

Which kinda feels like cheating, since I go just down the street for all my Western Comics needs.
