THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- :*( Wow that was really sad. I was never away that such a thing even occurred. History isn't always a happy thing to look back on. I guess even to this day there is still no word to whether or not Megumi is still alive. One thing that puzzled me though, did Megumi's parents eventually meet her daughter?

Probably one of the worst OVAs I've ever seen. Not bad like Dog Soldier either, I mean TERRIBLE.

You may find most of the info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Korean_abductions_of_Japanese_citizens http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megumi_Yokota When you have isolated country which government thinks that everyone around them is enemy, this is what you get. Still hoping for some change in the future of North Korea :'(

That was so bloody sad... It's terrible to think what happened to her. I hope her pearents receive some peace of mind soon.

This feels more like a documentary or propaganda, I have the same reaction I would if this was what actually happened (which I'm aware it actually did). I don't think this was trying to be a well paced story or anything, but I still can't help but feel its just average.

The real events behind this are sad for sure but i can't help but laugh at this. The dub version especially just takes the haminess to whole new level.

Damn only 5 returned out of 17 abductees, shit was pretty messed up. What started off as a warm family moment, ended up as tragic case of despair. My painfully moment was when Megumi's parents were pleading on the streets, for people to help them but to no avail. The other was when they refused to believe that those were Megumi's ashes on that container, I felt their pain, shame man. This was emotional, and didn't know it was an autobiography until I saw her real pictures at the end. 6/10.

[/quote] They did meet her. This OVA motivated me to learn more about North Korea kidnapings and it's beyond messed up. |

An ending that no one would want. It makes me sad that this short film is not known.

damn is the dub horrible; don't get me wrong I'm definitely made more aware that such incident has happened after watching this but this was kinda disappointing ig since as mentioned by other viewers - it's main goal is to be a form of propaganda. I feel if there was a studio who took time & effort to carefully/properly make this short video, it would have left a more lasting impression on the audience not bc it's just a tragic part of history but bc the video itself moved people with its message. PS: Just decided I'll share all the youtube links if anyone is interested to watch this since it's in the desc box lol Japanese; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCV6ysI1T34&t=0s English; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8xqoYDxra4 Korean; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gty2l5T_Ah0 German; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfhRQuA3p9M French; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEebEIYnAAY Italian; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECKUZ_ANc4c Spanish; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upPR8wRg2DA
