Kusaka endeavouring on to move his ideal Zipang.

All forces are moving now - Amercan scouting aircrafts, Kusaka plan and Mirai heading to Yokosoka.
I don't know why people write that they are approachable persons,
if you were you wouldn't be on MAL.

Extended families or lovers on MAL are a farce.

This is the buildup before the eventual clash between the US squadron and Mirai, and with how the crews in Mirai might think, they may mistake this encounter as being a plot devised by Kusaka when it's really not.

The discovery of oil in Japanese-controlled Manchuria would be enough to stop the war with America? What a bizarre idea. It would take a lot of intensive development to bring that oil into practical use so it's not going to have an effect on Japan's needs in the current war, and Kanji even says they won't even need to refine it.

Japan even suddenly offering to evacuate from all it's taken since 1937 in China and the Pacific would be a fishy proposal if it comes after they discover a strategic resource in land they held previously and want to keep in a peace deal. I'd be worried that after a few decades of development there'd just be another war with a Japan in a stronger position.

It's no surefire peace deal. It flies in the face of the apparent lesson of Germany's defeat in the First World War only to come back aggressive 20 years later and seems to be an admission of Japanese weakness in the current war; why would they want to bail out of the war unless they're worried they'll lose? And this is exactly why they're doing it after all; knowing that Japan will lose and trying to avoid that.

So rather than accept the deal and worry about another war with a stronger Japan in 1960 or '70 why wouldn't Amerca just try to win this war instead?
