| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- More fun! Poor old dad, though, marrying his "trouble companion". Is that just because they produced Ataru together? I kind of wonder at the sequence in the middle where Cherry explains who saw who in the orbs. I somewhat suspect it was added after everything else was finished and they decided the conflicts between the characters weren't clear enough and needed a quick brute-force fix. Why else does the episode conceal what most people saw in the orb and then just reveal it all at once in a scene that doesn't fit in the narrative? |
| Well, what a BIG misunderstanding that was! I feel sorry for Ataru's parents though! LOL chaos everywhere XD Still enjoyed that Ataru was upset that Lum did not see him in the ball :) |

| The scene with Cherry made everything a lot clearer. Also doesn't it seem like Ten seems to cause the most chaos in this anime for some reason, causing all those misunderstandings and such. |

| lol wild episode. I died at Sakura’s face when she saw Mendou and Ataru. That would be a living nightmare lol. I thought Ten was in on it the entire time and that he just enjoyed seeing the chaos lol. But looks like it was just a mistake. |

| I had a feeling these Love-catch Balls had a catch to them, and I was right, they were actually showing the worst matchups lol. It’s funny that Shinobu was the only one who gave in tho, I guess she was okay with any hot guy giving how she isn’t into Ataru anymore. This was a really funny episode tho thanks to the antics. Also I just realized, does this mean Ataru’s parents are a terrible couple lol. |
| I lost my shit when I realized Ataru's dad married the wrong woman rofl. Edit- Upon rewatch, it's still one of my favorite episodes. But I noticed the animation looks worse than some of the other episodes. I think the reason was that this was the first episode released after the first movie Only You. So the staff was probably busy animating the movie first. The part about the men having their own ball was completely anime original. And it makes sense when you think about it for a bit. Rumiko Takahashi is a master at writing problematic couples but she's not the type to willfully pair two people who don't belong with each other. Despite their differences, I think the Moroboshis do belong with each other, as do every other Rumiko Takahashi pairs. |
