I've had this club closed since it's conception to prevent moelovers from joining, but it seems a few people want to let them in for more activity/flaming/trolling/possible murders. So, I'll let ya'll decide. I'll probably leave this open for a week.

FLAME WAR DO WANT

Let the moeism butthurting championship start, har har har
If they come, at least this club will be more active, and we'll have more fun instead of just attacking the moe between us without a butthurt moelover defending his mindless goddesses.

No.

My reason is that moe and its lovers are parodies of their own selves. It's a culture that is virtually exclusive with all the tropes and inside references that it constantly makes. Frankly, moe fans aren't really the most reactive of subgroups since they don't have the will or the energy to make pompous and/or idiotic statements about the superiority of their cliche.

Each side has positives and negatives.
Something cool to be placed here in the near future.

Even if we open I doubt we would get that much more attention as the past clubs didn't, at least not until they started posting in the main forum like in this topic.

I do think moe fans have gotten more reactive over the past few years though.

The difference between people like us and moe fans is that the latter will become reactive only if the anyone brings the subject up.

But I guess my choice reflects my view on these types of Internet debates: 98% noise 2% actual discussion. It's to be expected, however, with the constant rationalization and loaded examples.

Honestly , anyone that's a fanboy/girl of something will be hypocritical when it comes to defending what they like, even if someone makes a valid argument. I can't read discussions about loli/moe and anti loli/moe anymore because there's so many hardcore fanboys that if you even bring up your own opinion, you're considered stupid, unintelligent, considered to have a lack of sense of beauty or whatever those SOL members call it. Just like Haruhi fanboys call anyone that doesn't like the show stupid for not understanding it's greatness. It's absurd ._.

We just have to keep in mind that if the club is opened for that, we can't complain later of people (moe/loli lovers) who join just to start a discussion. I'm just saying that the "if you don't agree with the club, don't join" won't be valid argument. It doesn't mean that we won't confront them. And I gess that could be fun...

If after a "trial" period only stupid hardcore fans show up and we get to a point in wich it stops being funny for the haters (the prioritary public of the club) we can go back and close it again.

I agree with Maat. I think there should be a trial period just to see how it goes. I'm all for reading stupid comments from crazy fanboys defending their odd obsession and that might spice up some things, but it might just get annoying after a while.

I'm a bandwagon whore

I also agree with Maat's idea of a trial period. If it turns out to be too much of a hassle to weed out the trolls, we can go back to having a closed club.

Looks like we'll be opening. For a month though.
