| Kit was quite accustomed to working alone by now; after all, many of the individuals who had graduated alongside her were a few years her senior. This fact alone, and her withdrawn personality, created discontent and resentment in all sectors of community relations. The fact of the matter, though she would never speak it aloud, loneliness perforated her mind and outlook on life. She had considered ending it several times, slashing two quick cuts down her forearms, ending the agony within. Every time, though, she convinced herself that someone would step in and show her what it was like to be alive–a friend or companion, of sorts. She came out of her reflective thoughts just in time to catch herself from sliding down a ravine. Her foot had slipped on a moss-covered rock, sending it clattering down noisily. She began to curse softly, but then stopped. She was near the refugee camp, and did not wish to alert anyone to her presence. It would be best to act, as a Ninja ought to, quietly and efficiently; that is, quickly remove the threat and retreat unnoticed… Yeah…not. Nothing ever goes as planned. Just as kit started to slip and regain her balance, an arrow split the air in the place her throat had previously occupied. She glanced around, noting the angle of the still quivering arrow, realizing that if the arrow had hit, she would now be a sack of meet bleeding out all over the forest floor. Unfortunately, the angle of the arrow failed to reveal the original trajectory of the shot; thus, the unseen attacker was, well, unseen. |

 ◦It feels so close to me, yet i can't grasp it even if i extend my hands. Even so ... Even if i cant reach it ... there are things that will stay in my heart. Being in the same time and looking up at the same sky, If i can remember that, then even when we are apart from each other, I believe that we can be together. I will run forward now. | Kit tilted her head to one side, attempting to measure the angle of the arrow. If physics held up to tradition, as it ought to, she should be able to calculate the path of the arrow. Regrettably, the path of the arrow remained impossible to trace. An infinitesimal cracking sound, located almost directly behind her, caused her head to turn. Out of the periphery of her eye, she noticed the sun glinting off… “Thwack.” The world flipped upside down, the earth rushing up to meet her. Kit found herself laying at the bottom of the ravine, a lump developing on the side of her head. She sat up, the world spinning all around her. She attempted to stand, but was unable to gain her feet. “What in the bloody…” She began to take note of her surroundings. She found herself in a camp of sorts, clear signs of a fire recently extinguished right under her rump. Before she could move, a boy dropped from the sky, landing softly. He had a bow in his left hand, his right folded against his side. The look on his face indicated some sort of agony. He must have thought she was dead, because he did not even bother looking her way. Instead, he began to babble softly. “Stupid whore, daring to interfere with my project. Bah, I showed her how freewill agency could defeat deterministic causality. Killed that little slut, I did…” |

| Two events, back-to-back, really got her blood boiling. Being thumped on the head and insulted–a combination of her two largest pet peeves. A small shard of ice flickered into existence, flowing across her fingertips. A growling sound began to emanate from deep inside her chest as she slowly started to sit up. Who was this derelict child anyways? What, in the gods’ names, gave him the right to make derogatory remarks regarding her sexual conduct? It was no business of his and it infuriated her when men, chauvinistic or not, executed and proffered their patriarchal agenda. She would have none of it. Kit moved in a swift motion, intending to punch the boy in his worthless throat, ending the idiotic, sexist rant. Her aim, as usual, was slightly off. Not to mention, but the boy was rather quick on his feet. “What in the…the stupid bitch isn’t dead?” The boy jumped back, right arm coming away from his side, revealing a deep gash crusted over with blood. It was clear that it was old and needed some medical treatment; however, equally clear, at least to kit, was the feral mindset the boy possessed. This meant, naturally, no help would appease him. The boy turned and ran at a tree, but instead of running up it, he dodged around it. Kit realized two things in that moment–first, the boy clearly was no ninja, possessing no knowledge of anything ninja-esk; secondly, this was probably the obnoxious child, causing the refugees problems. Kit sighed, as she began pursuit. |

| Glancing down, before she left the clearing, Kit noticed a rock, which was lying at an odd angle. Spotting moss on it, she deduced that this rock must be the one she had tripped over earlier. The rock was circular in nature, just smaller than an average sized Baseball. She scooped it up and pocketed it; deciding that the rock must be endowed with some sort of lucky essence. After all, it had inadvertently prevented the arrow from severing her windpipe in two. Kit moved quickly, but no matter how fast she thought she was going, she seemingly gained no ground on the boy. He was out of sight and out of hearing, though certainly not out of mind. She was still a bit sore and disoriented from the tumble. Moreover, her head ached something fierce. She began to think about the encounter. Something, though she was not recalling it yet, was amiss. As she burst onto the shores of a lake, it suddenly occurred to her. A Bowe, usually made of wood, would not glint in the sun; so, what then… |

| Glancing around, Kit failed to recognize where she was. Likely, she would contribute this to not being from the area; but, this was merely an excuse. Living in an a specific location for several years should be an indication of ones geographic knowledge, that is, nine and a half times out of ten, if a person lives in an area, they know the surroundings out of necessity or curiosity. If Kit had realized where she was, then she would realize the mission she was assigned was directly correlated to the issues which she had been having, with the unknown child. Naturally, failing to realize this, she stumbled around for a few hours attempting to discover where she was. She finally gave up, throwing herself on the ground. The boy had vanished–there was no sight of him. Furthermore, she had concluded that she was officially screwed. It was not every day a Shinobi from Konoha got lost in their own backyard; therefore, it would probably be some time before she was assigned another mission. If an individual were tarty, either for the collection of the mission, the completion of the mission, or the delivery of their report, then they were often cut off. With that, last thought came a sower feeling in the back of her throat. Leaping up quickly, kit barely made it to the water’s edge before she spewed all of her breakfast into the water. It was gross, a green-yellow color. She stared down at it, beginning to feel sorry for herself. Maybe, just maybe, she was not cut out for this sort of… “That is fucking disgusting, you dirty slut, you.” Oh, that horrible, insolent child. Before the boy could react, Kit flicked her fingers into a single sign. Mist billowed out around her, enveloping the area. Once where anger had lay, pure, unadulterated calm stood, head held high. “Welcome to my world, boy.” She whispered. |
