THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Well, it has certainly been worth the long wait between Season 2 and Season 3.
Of course, the look is quite different now since they are clearly out of the
experimental stage in the last two seasons to what seems to be intended to be
a commercial anime series. I am very curious to see to what extent it will catch
on. Also, ten girls is quite a large cast, especially where there is not a core of
two or three characters that a story focuses on. The animation for the ED is so
simple now. Back in Season 1, they did a different dance animation each week,
making it progressively more elaborate as the series went on. Not really needed.

Can't help but question the wisdom of Crunchyroll picking this show up for simulcasting. Not only is this the third season, but also a crossover with a manga apparently based on the inside jokes of a seiyuu radio show (I only got a couple of them because I follow three of the five VAs on Twitter). CG shows are already a niche interest, but in these circumstances even people who normally have no problem with them won't get into it due to having no idea what's going on. I guess they should at least add the first two seasons into the catalogue.

As for the show itself, I'm glad to see it back. Apparently now there'll be two ad-libbing teams instead of one, so that's a plus. The set up and transtitions felt a bit long, but I guess they were necessary to introduce the new setup and characters. Apparently they introduced the Purupurun Charm characters by adapting a part of the first chapter of the manga (available as a free trial read on the publisher's website). Can't imagine how they're going to fill out all that time in the following episodes though..

"We could probably get away with anything if we call it a spin-off"

-Actual words from the actual show.

I'm not complaining, I have no idea what this anime is but I found it and I don't hate it.

...I didn't realize that it was a Spin-Off from another series when I started watching it... I feel as though I may get confused...

Though I already am, what in the holy fuck just happened?

From a point of view of advancing the technology of animation, what the first
two seasons demonstrated is that it is possible to more realistically depict
four girls sitting around a table and talking. What remains to be determined
in this third season is whether more than a few people can get interested in
watching some girls sitting around a table and talking.

The six volumes of the Blu-rays and DVDs were all listed on Amazon.co.jp on
Sunday, April 5th. So we'll have to wait another week or so before we can look
at the early forecasts for the Amazon Stalker points.

Thank you! Thank you! It turns out that this is really easy to do. They didn't ask
me to give them my email address or anything.

(1) You just go to this webpage: http://kc.kodansha.co.jp/title?code=1000006641
(2) Then go down to the lower-left corner of the screen, move the mouse around
until you see the blue box that says 試し読み and then click on it.

You can then see eight pages of the manga, in Japanese. Click on the left edge
of each page to go to the next page. Click in the center of the page to reveal a
tool menu which includes 2X magnification. The resolution is not great, but it is
just barely legible.

There is a Japanese-language Wikipedia article which introduces the five girls,
but it most likely includes plot spoilers from later chapters in the manga:
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%81%BF%E3%81%AA%E3%82%89%E3%81%84%E5%A5%B3%E7%A5%9E_%E3%83%97%E3%83%AB%E3%83%97%E3%83%AB%E3%82%93%E3%82%B7%E3%83%A3%E3%83%AB%E3%83%A0

To give you a simple starting point to getting to know the five Purupurun girls,
their five personalities correspond to the five days of the week (excluding the
weekend) which have the five associated physical elements:

Monday / Moon
Tuesday / Fire
Wednesday / Water
Thursday / Wood
Friday / Gold

Also, here is the official website for the series which includes a description of
each of the ten characters:
http://www.ntv.co.jp/tesapuru/

They now have over 20,000 Twitter followers, which is fairly respectable. That
might be a sign that they are much more popular than I would have guessed.

I'm really interested in what topic would comes out in this new club.
Oh, man now they really going full out on anime production committee. It is quite awkward about the no-anime yet casts, but I recognized some of the voices, now they looked like side characters in Tesagure, lol.

I suspect the 'it's all just a dream' trope would be stretched until the end of the season, with the groping club invites many other no-anime yet characters to be featured in their show. Sasuga Koharun.

Edit: I forgot the title only mention of puru purun.

Well duh :P

Thanks for the info dump.

I just really liked the voice acting, it seemed very natural, and I don't think I've ever followed conversation in Japanese this easily before.

Of course, the anime has other problems but it's enjoyable just because of the natural-feeling conversation. It's almost like a different dialect with less stilted and artificial "sound". Hard to describe.

Well I was completely unprepared for what I was getting into since I haven't seen the first two seasons. It was actually pretty funny though.

Lol people who hadn't seen the first two series must have been so confused by that.

To the uninitiated: This is basically the most meta series in history, and it has large amounts of ad lib comedy as well. Most of the series consisted of sitting around discussing ideas of new versions of common concepts in anime and manga.

As for me, I'm just glad it's back.

Some anime fan in Japan thinks the tank is a BT-7. This is a kind of tank made in the
Soviet Union in the 1930s.

Here are various photographs of the Soviet BT-7 Model 1935 (made in 1935):

The BT-7 Model 1937 (made in 1937) looks the same to me:

http://czolgi.neostrada.pl/warsztat/bt7polska/bt7polska2.JPG

The Tesapuru tank is definitely not a BT-5:

I really know nothing about tanks. Back in Fall 2012 when I was watching
"Girls und Panzer", I relied on other people to correctly identify them on the
MAL threads. It would be great if somebody else could confirm what kind of
tank it is.

It's either a BT-5 or BT-7, (some BT-5 variants looked almost identical) funny enough my favourite tank in War Thunder so I recognized it straight away :P

It was an extremely strange tank built for high speed on roads, (cavalry tank) and as such handled like a pig offroad and often threw out the tracks. Crews probably spent more time performing repairs than in transit or combat combined. But the cannon was amazing for the time, one of the best penetrating there was.
