If one were to try and sum her up in a few words, their first choice would likely be "overly casual". Personal boundaries seem to mean very little to Renee when interacting with people she is unfamiliar with, and nothing at all with those she knows well. While she can be quite sporadic with her emotions and behaviour, she is more often than not a pleasant enough person to be around. She is, however, quite prone to fall back on sarcasm.

Bio:

Renee's parents are first generation immigrants from France. She herself was still young, about seven, when the family was moved. Learning to speak English fluently was not as much a struggle for her as it was for her parents but it did still pose her her fair share of issues. Fitting in at her new school was difficult and she had trouble making friends with many of the children with her broken English. Though it was unintentional, she became a bit of a recluse for her first year. Even after she had managed to more or less learn the language she still had trouble with people. She had some friends, but none she was terribly close with.

About a year and a half after her family had settled in she had taken to hiding away during the school lunch breaks with a small handheld device to play games. Though not particularly happy, she was content enough. It was around then that her hiding spot was found out. The girl who had found it, one from her class, managed to sneak up behind her and peered over her shoulder before Renee had even noticed she was there. When she spoke it gave the poor girl no small fright. Perhaps it was just childish stubbornness, but the girl sat down with Renee and insisted on asking her questions about the game. Following that day that girl, Ashley, hung around the quiet Renee and slowly but surely the two became good friends.

By their final year in high school the two were like sisters and the one-time recluse had become much more sociable. Video games were still something she spent a great deal of time on and she prided herself on her self-proclaimed mastery of RPGs. That said, when the first VRMMORPG was announced, money was no object to her. She bought the entire system and applied for the beta test. By some stroke of luck, she got in. For the rest of that period, if she wasn't in the game, she was most certainly raving about it. She was also the one to convince Ashley to purchase the system and sat with her at her computer for hours, waiting for pre-orders to open for the game just so the two of them could play it together.

Personality: Shinra is generally easily entertained. He laughs a lot, but has a somewhat cruel sense of humor. He will laugh at the misfortune of others, but not necessarily out of mean spiritedness. Simply because he has a strange sense of humor. Other than this, however, Shinra is easy to get along with. He is theatrical at times, but generally helpful. Sometimes sarcastic.

Bio:Prior to SAO, Shinra's family owned a mediocre theater. Mediocre, that is, until Shinra started writing and acting in plays for them. Shinra's family began to exploit him, however, and he moved out at 15. He still wrote plays for the theater, however, so his younger siblings would not starve. He thought SAO looked cool, and decided that interactions within the game might give him good material for his play writing.

Bio: Takaru has been quite a large/fat kid for his whole life and in grade school gained the nickname "Odango" (a Japanese word for dumpling) from bullies trying to insult him, but now even his friend calls him this as a friendly nickname. After his dad passed away he locked him self in his room and discovered Sword Art Online from his friend Kanji and decided to buy some nerve gear. This is something he has always wanted as he can start again and can be a better person. Seeing that he got bullied he decided to make his character a big tanky type guy so he can help smaller people out if they're getting bullied or in trouble. His friend Kanji from school also plays SOA with him and they have been friends since year 10 and Takaru would do anything to save him.
