Not only was this his first relationship but he was also coming out or was thinking to do so. Was pretty stressful for him. While Mel was going through other issues, he didn't have to worry about what his friends and family would think so I feel like Kain felt alone in that respect and thought Mel wouldn't understand. But I'm glad they were able to go through such a hard time together. Theirr relationship was really beautiful and it felt real. I honestly don't know how Mel can function like a normal human being after that insane childhood he had. I did kind of wish they would go back to visit his family to at least ... clear up some stuff and maybe the dad can get punched in the face. But I'm okay with it. It has a lot of drama but I think the relationship felt authentic so it helped me move past the forced (sometimes) drama. It was inspiring in showing how someone trying to come out has to go through so yeah I recommend it if you love good character development, romance and drama.
