What I loved about this episode was that it touched on the topic of consent. Kakeru is is out 'mounting' monsters when he comes upon a Tateko Mole. Once he sees that this monster doesn't want to be put in a card, Kakeru backs off. When Ai questions him, he goes on to say that it wouldn't be right if he forced the monster to come along with him and that he wants his relationships to be based on trust. I found this very nice, especially since this show is geared towards younger kids. It's refreshing since other shows like this one seem to have little to no regard to the feelings of monsters and pets etc. It's especially good because the one to bring it up is the main character as well.
